As It Turns Out, We Should Have Elected Howard Hughes Decades Ago!!!!!

For those who may not know, Howard Hughes was once one of the three richest men in the world.  When he died, I think he still held the top 10 spot. … Maybe the #1 spot.  Doesn’t matter.  He was insanely rich.  And, I’ve no doubt he was a very bright man.  He had fantastic business sense.  He was also quite insane.  Don’t take my word for it, read about him!  Read what he had to say.

Why am I posting about this great man?  ….. (And he was great.)  Here’s why.  Trump had a response tonight ……

Trump answered: “I may be an entertainer. … but I will tell you this. What I am far and away greater than an entertainer is a businessman.”

Well, sure, let’s draft Bill Gates to be president!  Clearly, he would be better than Trump.

Business is only familiar with economics as a whore is familiar with her virgin sister.

Weeellll… What goes today for economics is usually Keynesian globalist technocrat oligarchism concerned with moneyprinting as the universal and only tool, so… Nope, I don’t agree in a general sense.

There are cronies like Buffett or Musk, there are capitalists like the Kochs or Steve Jobs – who, as much as I dislike the personality cult around him, probably impersonates the Randian hero pretty well, as the creator of new realities. Another example is Piech, the VW boss who turned VW into a powerful global concern – he recently got ousted, but he’s also already 80.

On the economist side, there are always Hayek, von Mises, and in part Milton Friedman and of course Thomas Sowell as positive figures BUT today disregarded by the new generation of half wits.

…another one (Randian hero that is), from yesteryear, German electrification and general industry tycoon genius
      Werner von Siemens
as I just find a great quote by him
„Am Dasein Gottes können nur blasierte Toren zweifeln“
      – “only deluded fools can doubt the existence of God.”

My point was that one can be a brilliant business man, but, that, in itself, in no manner qualifies him to be POTUS. What a POTUS should be familiar with is economics, not business. They’re two entirely different things.

      • DirkH says:

What a great industry tycoon does is he builds up an effective organization.
I’ve seen lots of more or less effective orgs from the inside. If I’m lucky the department I’m in is effective. It’s not easy to do.

They key point, as in building effective software systems, is gathering CORRECT information about their effectiveness – i.e. profile them. So that you can address REAL organizational problems.

The master of this was Henry Ford. And it’s an ability that would be extremely helpful for a president. Whether Trump has this ability I don’t know as I know too little about his business.

Yep…surrounding himself with the right team, for the economy, and everything else. His business skills mostly likely include that.

A great economist would fail as POTUS without doing that.

First rats are leaving the sinking ship Merkel-SPD-CDU-government: Wolfgang Schmidt, Boss of the BamF, the asylum bureacracy, resigns. Under his leadership the stack of unprocessed asylum applications grew to 300,000 (I don’t actually believe that number, probably more like 500,000).

He was known for inviting statements like “We will send no Syrians home”.

Schmidt is a second tier goon directly below the Merkel Mafia ministers.

    Found in a comment

Translation: The refugees trying to break through the blocked broder to Hungary were repelled by tear gas and water throwers. Some of them held up children as human shields. Two children were thrown over the barbed wire border fence. Their injuries are treated in Hungarian hospitals.

Unconfirmed, blocked by our system media, watch this.

I think our biggest problem is we have not had anyone that has ever had to run a business..
…and I don’t see much difference in running either one

Obviously what we been doing is not working.

However the time is now delayed to 2023. Well still only 8 years from now… when they have time and resources not doing bogus climate research they still do some fine work over there:
“Our work to send humans out into the solar system is progressing,” said NASA Administrator Charles Bolden. “Orion is a key piece of the flexible architecture that will enable humanity to set foot on the Red Planet, and we are committed to building the spacecraft and other elements necessary to make this a reality.”

System media in Germany now count down to sacking of Interior Minister Thomas De Maiziere for rampant Islamisation. Refugees Welcome media Einheitsfront pretty much a shambles now.

James, James, James … Bill Gates would be a better president than Trump? … I understand that you don’t think Trump would make a very good president … but please think about this for one moment .. and recount Bill Gates’ position on many many issues. Positions that he has forcefully projected .. then tell me again that Bill Gates would be a better president. OMG!… Bill Gates would essentially be nothing but an uber rich Bernie Sanders. palleeezzz..

    • suyts says:

Squid! I was being facetious! It was Trump’s argument that he should be elected president, because, he is a great businessman. But, if that’s true, then, shouldn’t we elect greater businessmen? Yes, it’s hogwash, and, that was my point, that’s why I used Gates as an example.

      • squid2112 says:

Whew…. had me worried there. I agree with you that just because you may be a good businessman, that isn’t, in and of itself, a qualifier. And in that context, then your example illustrates precisely why (good example then!). Bill Gates, who has arguably been a great businessman (for himself), would be an absolute nightmare as a president or any other influential politician. I break out into cold sweats just imagining Gates as president. You think Obama is bad, holy crap, someone like a Gates would bring about hell on earth for this country in a matter of months.
