While Poley Bears Now Feast On Dolphins Because Of Global Warming …. This Is Possible

Note!  The graph is intentionally biased to trend downward ….. but, it doesn’t!  Source

So, there’s a moronic article making its rounds among the climate lunatic sites.  I’d give you a link, but, just Google …. or Bing, or whatever “polar bears dolphins” and you can find several different iterations of the same story.

Apparently, for the first time ever!!!!!  Some polar bear ate a couple of dolphins.

Now, mind you, no one observed how the bears came by the dolphins, it was just surmised.  The eating of the dolphins is what was observed.

Apparently, it is because of global warming is why and how this happened.  The reasoning when like this …..

The dolphins went to the arctic because it was ice free, then, they got trapped by more ice (in the arctic) during the Spring (not Winter as reported by some imbecilic outlets … Slate and whatnot)

So, because of global warming the dolphins went to the Arctic and got trapped by ice.   ….. because it is ice free.

Except for the breathing hole the “scientists” believe was kept open by the dolphins.  Apparently, it was the only hole in the ice for quite a distance.

Now, mind you, I’m not saying it didn’t happen exactly as the articles state, or as the paper in the journal assumes, but, I would say, there are other alternative scenarios, in different aspects of the narrative.

Even laypeople know whales and dolphins, from time to time get confused and go places where they shouldn’t go.  Indeed, they even beach themselves from time to time.  I don’t know why.  AFAIK, no one knows why, they just do.  It is also a known occurrence that dolphins do, from time to time, get trapped under ice and drown.  It has also been observed that polar bears can break through ice to get food.  Who’s to say the bear didn’t break through the ice to get at the drowned dolphins?

It’s hard to say.  The polar bear is such an opportunistic animal.  And, this isn’t news.  They’ll eat anything and everything.  Most of the articles mention a decrease in the bears typical diet, ringed and bearded seals.  I’ve not seen any actual data on the populations of the seals in the polar bear habitat.  I seriously doubt there could be any accurate count of such.  But, if there really is a decrease in the mentioned seals population, it’s probably because we’ve more polar bears now than we have had in well over 50 years.  The only “change” we can document in that area is that we’ve exponentially more top level predators in that area.

In the mean time, as people try to convince other people the globe is warming and point to the Arctic ice as proof, we see more snow on the ground in the North Hemisphere …… because the globe is warming …. or so we’re told.

Given the reported average global temperature …. (it varies, always) but, it’s about 55 deg F or 14-16 deg C … give or take.  More area with snow cover over the entire North Hemisphere seems a bit incongruous.  It would be different if the average state was at or close to freezing, but, it isn’t.  The normal state, on average, is continued thawing …. yet, we have more snow on the ground, as the globe supposedly warms.  Lunatics.

Northern Bottlenose Whale Hyperoodon ampullatus (Forster 1770)
    SIZE. Nose-to-tail length: males to 9.5 m, females 7-8 m. A female 7 m long weighed almost 3
    tonnes.
APPEARANCE. A fat, well-padded, medium-sized whale, blue-grey, dark brown or black on top,
paler on chest and abdomen; bulbous forehead, short but well-defined ‘bottleneck’ rostrum.
Large, recurved dorsal fin set well back along the body. Two small cylindrical or oval-section teeth
at the tip of the lower jaw, visible only in males.
RANGE. A species of cool north Atlantic waters, ranging north to the ice edge – well into the
    Arctic basin
    – in summer, and south to Florida, the Cape Verde Islands and beyond in winter.
Usually found offshore; beached specimens have been recorded from both sides of the Atlantic.
Rather doubtfully recorded also in the north Pacific Ocean.

I guess when they start feeding on whales, it’s the end…..

Remember, if they aren’t eating dolphins: also CAGW.

The Vatican is still feeling the sting of Galileo, and not wanting to be seen as anti-science, they have overcorrected. You wouldn’t think that the Pope would be in a damned if you do damned if you don’t conundrum. 😉

Thanks gator for that. I am missing the ayatollahs but maybe this can be updated in the next version.
Good that the pope comes and defends that poor defenseless oil and coal. That should stay there pure in the nature for ever and a day untouched by dirty-us. And the Earth should take its natural course and slowly freeze to the next ice age.
Btw, now that the science is struggling to explain the failure of the models:
          http://notrickszone.com/2015/06/16/max-planck-institute-confirms-warming-pause-and-scrambles-to-explain-widespread-model-failure/
and as the North Atlantic is starting to cool – as explained in the post – there is need of special push from the religion to help keep the faith.

Meanwhile maybe we find some realities about the carbon cycle:

surprise, surprise the models were too simplistic and wrong…

        • gator69 says:

Once again we see why the models overestimate CO2 warming.

          Turtles all the way down.

I have been preaching this for years now, and have found it to be the best argument against the Branch Carbonians.

“Malthusianism is a school of ideas derived from the political/economic thought of the Reverend Thomas Robert Malthus, as laid out in his 1798 writings, An Essay on the Principle of Population, which describes how unchecked population growth is exponential while the growth of the food supply was expected to be arithmetical. Malthus believed there were two types of “checks” that could then reduce the population, returning it to a more sustainable level. He believed there were “preventive checks” such as moral restraints (abstinence, delayed marriage until finances become balanced), and restricting marriage against persons suffering poverty and/or defects. Malthus believed in “positive checks”, which lead to ‘premature’ death: disease, starvation, war, resulting in what is called aMalthusian catastrophe. The catastrophe would return population to a lower, more “sustainable”, level.[1][2] The term has been applied in different ways over the last two hundred years, and has been linked to a variety of other political and social movements, but almost always refers to advocates of population control.”

          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malthusianism

Malthus failed to be a visionary, and did not foresee technological advances that have allowed humanity to prosper under populations far beyond his imagination. Technology and industrialization have not only saved humanity, but have also assisted in saving the natural world around us. We can now produce the same amount of food that we did in 1960, on a third as much land, leaving more room for nature. It is estimated that we have passed “Peak Farmland”, and that we can continue to support humanity on less farmland.

Sadly there are still many adherents to 18th century alarmism, and proselytes of Rev Malthuis with us to this day, and they call themselves “sustainability” advocates.

The following 10 minute video is inspiring, and well researched, and the message is that our grandchildren will be just fine, provided the governments let us be.

Combine this with Lomborg’s presentation, and only sick freaks continue to argue for carbon taxes.

You do realize that: the Pope is NOT teaching from INFALLIBLITY with / in an Encyclical?

NOTE: Many have reported that The Pontifical Academy Of Science [ PAS ] is where he got his main ideas pertaining to economics / social issues on climate change etc……………. NOT true…. The Pontifical Academy of Social Science [ PASS ] is where he got the main thrust. As we well know, Social Science is Pseudo-science…….. Soft Science… is open to interpretation as is float-sum on the sea.

      It is a shame;

“Here I would state once more that the Church does not presume to settle scientific questions or to replace politics. But I am concerned to encourage an honest and open debate so that particular interests or ideologies will not prejudice the common good (188).”

Honest and open debate is exactly what the “climate change” debate needs the most.

“Pope Francis and I agree that climate change is a moral issue that requires collective urgent actions. It is an issue of social justice, human rights and fundamental ethics. Well they won’t be feasting on lobster…

CNN Money attributed the recent spike in prices to this winter’s unusually cold weather in the Northeast. The North Atlantic remains colder than it usually is at this time of year, so lobsters have, by and large, stayed out of reach of fishermen.
