October 16 Scripture Selection: Isaiah 61-63

Food for Thought: Is. 62:1, 2, 6

It seems like the younger generations do not have an appreciation for Israel. Somehow, the message has not been effectively transmitted to them, and so they do not have the tools with which to discern bias media reports that project Israel in a negative light. It is vital that the Christians of the older generations who understand the value of Israel pass this knowledge on to the next generation. We must speak up about it, and often, to counteract the voices that have been raised up against them most vehemently and mostly due to utter ignorance.

There are several ministries that have made this their priority, and a particular DVD called “The Hope” (produced by the Christian Broadcast Network) explains the birth of Israel as a nation very clearly. Making it a point to pray for Israel and speak up on her behalf in government are also ways to keep Israel in the forefront of our minds. Psalm 122:6 tells us to, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces.’” And, speaking to Abraham, the founding father, the Lord says in Genesis 12:3, “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Surely, we want to be counted among those who bless the nation.

Regardless of what happens, the Lord will be faithful in the end to Israel. However, there may be much hardship brought on by hateful people towards the Jews in the meantime, and we want to be found on the right side of of it all, standing with them instead of against them. Really, it is a joy and an honor to serve them in any way we can. So today and always, seek ways to be a blessing to the nation of Israel.

  1. i. Lou Minotti says:

“It seems like the younger generations do not have an appreciation for Israel. Somehow, the message has not been effectively transmitted to them . . . .” JSue, that is an understatement.

The ultimate blame must be laid at the feet of Western “Evangelicals” (both in Europe and America) and our leftist seminaries and churches that are not Dispensational in their interpretation and understanding and teaching of God’s Word. Remember, seminaries now train pastors that weak-willed women adore and by extension the men they lead by proxy in the home. “Evangelical” now equates with “tickled ears.” Leftist Presbyterian, Baptist, Wesleyan, Assemblies of God, Churches of Christ, et al could easily be equated with the pedophiles from Rome. Their theology is all about “love.” They’re all “evangelical,” but not biblical. But they’re surely “loving!”

Islam is “evangelical” via homicide vests exploded against innocents! “Evangelicals” are terrorists via imposed false guilt. That’s surely “loving,” as well.

Biblical truth can take a back seat, since the God of Creation and redemption, The Lord Jesus Christ, would surely place “love” above truth! But His truth IS love! Sometimes it’s nasty, but it’s never murderous. Now, that’s biblical truth!

I believe the bottom-line issue is this–it’s called the “unifying principle of Scripture.” Is it mankind’s salvation, or God’s glory? He doesn’t need to “save” anyone! We as sinful humanity believe God brought us into the world because we’re so “wonderful,” and we prove it day-by-day, don’t we? Especially in the churches and on TBN! We need to lose that self-righteous way of thinking, while Jan Crotch loses her platinum blonde with pink-highlighted hair while trying to “save” the unsaved world on-air. Last time I checked, nobody wants to watch an idiot, unless it’s for entertainment purposes only! I’m absolutely certain Jesus is going to reward her for eternity for having pink hair while interviewing Franklin Graham.

The true Church of Jesus Christ must soon return to His way of thinking. You will never find a true church called “Evangelical,” in my estimation, that leads to biblical truth. At least not nowadays, anyways. If you’re blessed, you might find one that’s biblical. They’re always small, reflecting why the Lord Jesus called them His “little flock.”

Our spiritual progenitors–the elect remnant of Israel that Jesus was born of to save His elect from both Israel and the Judeo-Christian Gentiles–are now probably spinning on their knees while asking Jesus, “how long, Lord, how long?”

    • Me says:

Bet you are just like this POS! Bwaaaahahahahaha! Really?

      • Me says:

And then you have the POPE begging for forgiveness not too long ago, the Holy one? Bwaaahahahaha! Really? Hypocrite.

        • jsue says:

Me, so glad you checked in, but very sorry that you still haven’t found Peace. I’m praying for you. You must be born again.

        • Me says:

Only born once, and once you been in a war then you know what peace really is. And what we have here is peace, for now, but I don’t know how long it’s going to last.

        • Me says:

And yeah, the bunch of morons up here elected Obama Lite, with them in power and the NDP in powerin Alberta, watch to see if your Dems go for the keystone XL now knowing what we have here in power will most likely stop it. Isn’t politics grand?

      • I. Lou Minotti says:

Please don’t equate any Roman Catholic pedophile “pope,” “priest,” or “theologian” with a true, biblical Christian. True, biblical Christians are kick-ass in their beliefs, but will do their best to refrain from taking your life if they’re attacked (i.e., “thou shalt not murder”). They also don’t like having sex with little boys, girls, or goats.

With that being said, true, biblical Christians will also lump you up (when attacked), leave your sorry ass laying in the gutter (which you’re used to living in, anyway), and call 911 in order to get you a nice meal and a nice bed in the ER for one night. And perhaps some detox at taxpayer expense. That’s probably more kindness than you’ve ever known! And from “evil Christians,” no less.

What would a devout member of the “Religion of Pieces” do to you under the same circumstances–even if they found you living peacefully in your cardboard box under a railroad trestle? Here’s a guess . . . . . . . . . . .

    • jsue says:

Lou, while I totally understand your points, I am troubled by you equating those you mentioned, your brothers and sisters in Christ, with pedophiles. The denominations may have some misguided doctrines and traditions, but I do not doubt their love and devotion to the Lord. The very thought of “pedophilia” would turn their stomachs. Your comments sound like condemnation, and you know how the Lord feels about that. Critical attacks are not helpful. (Remember Phil. 4:8 “whatever is noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy, think on these things.”–Anything else is destructive in one way or another.) Also, the term “evangelical” may mean different things to different people. I know the trational definition, but I choose to define it as one who lives out the Gospel so that others may know Jesus and give HIm the glory. In that sense, count me as an evangelical. When people are saved (and yes, they do need saved–just check out their lives!) and live their lives by the Spirit, God gets the glory.

      • I. Lou Minotti says:

I do doubt their devotion to the Lord, along with their eternal salvation. Our “evangelical” Churches have been defiled because they have chosen to try to attract the unsaved by acting like the unsaved. “We’re cool, YOLO!”

In the book of Acts which records the beginnings of our Church, those “outside” were AFRAID to join! Today’s “Churches” in America say, “come on in–we need your money to help us become a Joel Osteen clone, or a Jan Crotch clone! (cf. Acts 5:11-13). That’s called simony. For the life of me, I can’t understand why any biblical pastors or teachers like Hal Lindsey, David Jeremiah or Charles Stanley would associate themselves with a worldly/”christian” TV cesspool of false teachers exalted and exposed on TBN, unless they were trying to use the venue in order to embarrass the Egyptians.

I’ve posted this before, and because the man is on point, I’ll post it again. He’s stated the true issue far better than I could ever do:

        http://themattwalshblog.com/2013/09/04/jesus-christ-is-not-mr-rogers-2/

        A sample:

“Some churches are so hung up on being inoffensive and nice that they forget to be right and true. I hear the same justification over and over again: “Well, we have to tone it down a little so we can attract more people.” Fine, but attract them for what, exactly? Why should people be Christian? Because Christianity is the truth, right? So your brilliant strategy to bring people to the Truth is to stop being True? That’s like trying to get your scared 5 year old into the pool by draining it of all the water . . . .”

And as far as my equating protestant evangelicals with pedophiles, dare I say that they exhibit the same tendencies as their satanic brethren from Rome. I have plenty of published examples from the MSM that want to destroy true Christianity and true Christians. Roman Catholicism has been exposed for the “nice” evil they impose on their non-thinking, unbiblical adherents. American Protestants are following a close second in their race with them towards Hell.

        Enough said.

        • jsue says:

Getting into judging people’s hearts and motives is very dangerous territory. It produces a very angry, critical spirit that crowds out love. I’ll let the Lord discern the hearts and motives. The only thing i look at and judge is the fruit. Then I decide whether to support the tree or not. That’s as far as I go.

        • I. Lou Minotti says:

If we would only read Mt. 7 in biblical and historical context, we would realize Jesus was talking about false religious/political teachers. Israel at the time had both rolled up into one–the religious leaders were the lawyers, “reverends,” rabbis, judges, juries, legislatures, and Supreme Court. No wonder the Hebrew leadership wimps of the O.T. caved so easily to what Daniel calls the fourth beast (who, incidentally, now continues His rule).

What do teachers use–teachers both good and evil? They use their their mouths, out of which come words of truth or falsehood. Remember “out of the heart the mouth speaks?” Notice the words and phrases “beware of the false prophets” (v. 15). “Not everyone who ‘says'” (v. 21). “Many will ‘say’ to Me . . .” (v. 22). They know idiots will listen. They’re Satan-smart, and skilled at leading weak-willed people.

Jesus was talking about Satan’s religious/political “angels of light,” who somehow find their way into leadership positions in both the church and politics, and not the common sinner like us, who fail daily but are more than willing to admit it. 1 Jn. 1:9.

Their “fruits” (in biblical context), therefore, were their words.

        • DirkH says:

“Their “fruits” (in biblical context), therefore, were their words.”

When talking abut rulers, I think it is more complicated: There are soothing, deluding words used to address the crowd and orders given in secret. Their fruit is the resulting actions.

      • suyts says:

Lou, I think today’s Gems (Oct 20th) may be relevant to your discussion with Jeanette. She writes these well in advance of my posting them.

  2. Me says:

And with this Global warming thing it all fits nicely together with religion, because it’s all BS and just control. Power, Prestige, and Money. No God, no satan, no nothing else but that. It is what it is. People taking advantage of others. That is the evil.

    • DirkH says:

Well when we can’t see something it obviously doesn’t exist.

So my cell phone can’t actually work.

      • DirkH says:

Also my cellphone created itself through normal thermodynamical decay.

        • DirkH says:

Let’s go for the full monty here. Robespierre introduced a worship of Reason (and, mass murder through the most scientific method of killing, the Guillotine). That was before they made up evolution to explain creation as a random process (BTW, this is the blind creator god of gnosticism all over again but they didn’t notice.)

So let’s WORSHIP the god that throws dice;: let’s not call him the blind creator god to not make the re-invention of gnosticism too obvious. Today’s atheists are half-gnostics: They worship the blind creator god without calling him a god, but they refuse to believe the other half of gnosticism, the salvation of man through himself – or have they picked that up as well?

      • jsue says:

Yes, “fruit” can be words (sometimes quite obvious), and also the resulting actions. Let’s not forget the fruit of the Spirit, as well: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Also, false prophets do not point people to Jesus Christ; they point them to themselves. Most people are not prophets of any kind; they simply do not understand fully the scriptures. (Don’t we all grow in revelation and understanding and make adjustments in our doctrine accordingly?) But they love Jesus and are, therefore, my brothers and sisters in Christ.

        • I. Lou Minotti says:

The Holy Spirit only points people to Jesus Christ. That’s His only job in the Church Age towards both Jew and Gentile. He foists no attention to Himself, works no special temporal miracles in the Church Age for Christians or anyone else (that’s the work of God’s angels–and then, only on those He chooses to work miracles upon, and at His discretion alone and in addition to our hard work and faithfulness). In perfect subordination to the Father’s wishes, the Holy Spirit focuses sinful humanity on Jesus, and Jesus alone (to those the Father chooses, since all are spiritually dead and unable to choose Jesus as Savior without the Spirit’s prompting at the moment of conviction; i.e., when “the light goes on” [cf. 2 Cor. 4:3-6]). Once realizing in full assurance we’ve been saved from Hell for eternity, in thanksgiving we make Him Lord of our lives (cf. Rom. 12:1-2).

God’s temporal sign gifts and miracles ended at the end of the apostolic age, which had everything to do with His temporally-elect Nation, Israel. They have nothing to do with His bride, the Church. The signs, wonders, and healings will begin anew when Israel is regrafted into the tree, and the bride of Christ is with Him in Heaven. It will be a wonderful time on earth–1000 years of peace, quiet, healing, animal husbandry & farming with no decrease, Satan and his demons banned from earth, the deaf will hear, the lame cured, wild animals miraculously tamed without human effort, and deep-sea fishing boats will be returning to the new, fresh-water port of En-Gedi on the Dead Sea.

And Our Lord, Savior and King will be ruling the earth from David’s throne in Jerusalem (see the Davidic Covenant, which was built upon the Palestinian Covenant, which was built upon the Abrahamic Covenant, which was built upon the Eternal Covenant). Four distinct promises from God that these things will take place.

False prophets eliminate the biblical mainstay of Christ’s return and His Millennial Kingdom from their teaching, wear special religious robes, have mega-churches, aks for donations to “da ministry,” and have “religious” shows on TBN geared mainly towards plundering elderly, outwardly “religious” women and their masonic husbands that like having their ears tickled about how “wunnerful” they are!

Just so they continue opening their pocketbooks for the false teachers, without opening their Bibles to discern the truth.

    • jsue says:

Me, it’s a different kind of war now, and it is within you. If you had true peace you wouldn’t be expressing the things you do. When you are born again (when you accept Jesus Christ as your God and Savior who died for you so that you can have real life), your spirit becomes new. Only then will you have true peace because you will be at peace with your Creator (and not at war against HIm) who loves you so much.

      • I. Lou Minotti says:

Sometimes it’s better to walk away and ignore the unelect idiots of the world. While I, too, have prayed for “Me,” it’s obvious he’s been hardened past the point of no return. Isn’t that what Jehovah did to Pharoah after he kept hardening his heart against the Lord?

Three things you can do with a brick wall:

        1. Talk to it. It won’t listen.
        2. Try to patch it up in kindness. Repoint it. Make it nice-looking. In a few years, it will need more upkeep.
        3. Stand back, walk away, and leave it to its own devices. Sooner or later, it will crumble under its own weight.

  3. Thank you.
