The Bondage of Sin June 5
Scripture Selection: Psalm 4:4; Proverbs 5:22; II Timothy 3:1-5

Living a lifestyle of sin is really bondage. It is being held captive to Satan through the desires of the flesh. The sad thing is that most people who have not made Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior would never admit to being held captive. According to them, they are “free.” Free to do whatever they want without giving account to anyone.
But the truth is, they are the ones bound up by their own sins. The only way to be liberated is for them to come to understand their condition, repent, and call on the name of the Lord.
So if you have loved ones who are trapped in the bondage of sin, pray that the eyes of their understanding be enlightened, that the Holy Spirit convict them, that they desire a new life in true freedom from their bondage, and that by faith, they reach out and receive God’s offer for a free life. Let them know that there is a new life available through Jesus Christ. He did it for you; He’ll do it for them.
