CNN anchor Deb Feyerick asked Saturday afternoon if an approaching asteroid, which will pass by Earth on February 15, “is an example of, perhaps, global warming?”
Moments earlier, before an ad break, she segued from the Northeast blizzard to a segment with Bill Nye “the science guy,” by pointing to global warming: “Every time we see a storm like this lately, the first question to pop into a lot of people’s minds is whether or not global warming is to blame? I’ll talk to Bill Nye, ‘the science guy,’ about devastating storms and climate change.”
She never got to that question in the subsequent interview at about 3:25 PM EST during CNN Newsoom, instead transitioning from a snowfall update: “Talk about something else that’s falling from the sky and that is an asteroid. What’s coming our way? Is this an effect of, perhaps, of global warming or is this just some meteoric occasion?”
Nye resisted confirming her hypothesis.
News Busters was apparently taken aback by this and asked if this was a parody or something. I’ve watched the video, and affirm, she’s a moron.
Given the way Morano man-handled Nye when they spoke about climate change, I’m doubtful that Nye is the best one to ask.

He was making the obvious reference to a paper which postulated that our GHGs could attract ET.

“So what’s causing all of this cold air? If I tell you and I look at you straight in the face and tell you global warming, you’re going to laugh at me. But in fact, it’s the case.”
MYERS: Because there’s no sea ice up in the Arctic, the Arctic is warmer than it should be. In fact, Quebec is colder than the Arctic. When this happens, when this kind of surface happens, there’s not cold air just pounded over here, right over Santa Claus, the jet stream is allowed to expand farther to the south. And because the jet stream is expanding farther to the south, the cold air that should be bottled up here, making more sea ice and it’s not, now expands into China, expands into Russia, and all the way down to the U.S. And that’s exactly the position we’re in right now.
Funny how thing go wrong in a New York minute.

I have a theory about the terminal decline of our media. First, don’t worry: The phenomenon is present in Europe as well. Pierre Gosselin just found a great example:

The theory is this: We all know that TV is a waste of time and lets you behind stupider than you were before. TV people can tell you anything and pretend it’s the truth.
Now the problem seems to be – I always assumed the TV people themselves KNOW this and are simply cynics who delight in devastating the intellects of the nation and tell lies.
But what we have here seems to be – they DON’T know this – they actually THINK TV transmits truthful information, even worse, they think that they themselves speak the truth when it’s their turn to speak to the audience. They probably even watch TV, maybe their colleagues, themselves, and maybe even enjoy it. So we have a kind of maelstroem of disappearing intelligence, where the Anchour-Heads themselves are the ones that lead the path to a vegetative existence…
…so today you can become elite simply by waiting until the others have lost their senses enough…
yeh, I think the TV did the media in. They are now dumber than turnips. And, yes, they do watch TV. On the rare occasion I do watch a show, these people drop names of any and all people who’ve ever been on TV…… I never know who they’re talking about.
It’s only just that they fell into their own trap.

then how can you possibly believe. I believe i’ll have another foot of global warming this afternoon…and that I have just enough single-malt to last until it melts in June…or July.
