Climate Change Quote Quiz!!!!!

The question …..

Who said this? …….”As to climate change, I think the President was fairly straightforward saying we’re not spending money on that anymore. We consider that to be a waste of your money to go out and do that. So that is a specific tie to his campaign.

Give up?  Okay, I’ll let you know …… Office of Management and Budget director Mick Mulvaney.

Did something just go boom?

You can watch the whole OMB press conference here!!!  The Climate Change Q&A is at the end of the video.  The entire video is well worth the watch!!!  Indeed, it is fantastic!!!!!  I’m not familiar with this guy(I don’t know if his name is Mulcaney or Mulvaney), but, he’s bomb!

Can’t say that either…..changed the headline after it was posted to this

You can’t get deported if you are a legal immigrant……can you believe this crap

  5. Latitude says:

Their own countries are scared of them!

    • suyts says:

Well, technically, that’s not mine. It’s someone’s who asked me how I did it. But, pretty cool for it to still be making the rounds!

      • Latitude says:

But it’s still yours! he just added a few years to the end…and gave you credit
        Super Sweet!!!

      • suyts says:

Yeh, but, his is still dated. I think I’ll update mine, today. 🙂 And, yeh, it is sweet! The first time I did it was over 4 years ago, and it’s still making the rounds! I had no idea that would go over like it did.

      . . . global temps on a thermometer graph . . . .

As an engineer, these temperature measurements annoy me. We were taught to use the maximum “precision” available with a measuring device. (Notice I didn’t say anything about accuracy.) For most of the data collection past in meteorology, they have recorded temperatures to the nearest degree. Most thermometers have scale markings to the nearest degree. The standard procedure is to estimate one significant digit beyond the smallest scale marking. That means these recorded temperatures should include the tenth of a degree digit. The least significant digit usually comes with some doubt–it’s understood it comes with some doubt.

So all these years, they have lost a significant digit in their recorded temperatures. It tells me they didn’t really care about temperature. However, pressure has been recorded to the nearest hundredth of an inch of mercury. Why? It’s because of aviation. Pilots need a reasonably accurate altimeter setting, and that’s why they go out to four significant digits with pressure.

This trying to capture two more significant digits from temperature is bogus. They aren’t supposed to claim higher precision than the original measurement. Still, the graph created by James shows the nonsense of trying to claim precision out to a hundredth of a degree. It’s much ado about nothing.

Off topic – As a career professional who has worked in a STEM field for the past 35yrs
and a father of a son in a tech degree program………… This is the funniest article I have ever read about a liberal arts degree…. the comments made it even worse…. Go to school to get a degree to teach you critical thinkings skills so you can realize that your degree requires you to get extra training to do an actual job..roflmao

      ” Climate Change (Open2Study)

      Macquarie Graduate School of Management

Find out how climate change will affect us, why we should care about it, and what solutions we can employ. Climate change is the biggest global challenge the human race has ever faced. Our insatiable demand for energy from fossil fuels is changing the atmosphere, and in turn changing our climate. Climate change is already affecting the physical surface of the earth, the environment that provides our life support, our food supply, economy and society. These changes will accelerate over the next few decades
In this subject you will explore the impacts of climate change; why we should care about them, the science that underpins our understanding and how we can fix the problem before it’s too late.”

So his strategy is: Sell bullshit to people who have already proven that they are idiots. CUNNING!

Also I think he made up the term MOOC himself. I heard Open University, Open Online Courses but never MOOC which doesn’t make sense: It’s made to sound like MMORPG; Massive Multiplayer online role playing games; meaning a whole lot of players – but the “massive” in MOOC says “massively online”; ahem – WHAAAAAAT? He missed the “Multiplayer”. Maybe his liberal arts degree wasn’t an English major.
