Debate Fallout And Takeaways!!!!!

Heh!!!  Love that!

So, the debate is over and the pundits have lined up to tell us what we’re suppose to think about it.

It’s a fascinating thing.  Who won???  Everyone wants to know who won!  I’m a horrible judge of such things.  In full disclosure, I missed the opening minutes of the debate.  But, I did watch 90% of it.

I can tell you this, Melania Trump won trolling of the year!!!!!

For those who won’t follow the link, the blouse style is called a “p—y bow”, referencing bows once popular to put around cats necks.

But, who won the debate?

Well, I’ll tell you what I thought of the debate, and, then, I’ll give a couple of examples of some news and statements, and you can make up your own mind.

I thought Trump did a lot better last night than the previous debate.  But, he also missed some golden opportunities.  A couple of examples ……. when Hillary was talking about being more leverage against the Russians, (which she brought up the Russians, a lot!!!!) Trump should have asked her how the Ukraine worked out for her and her leverage.  No one talks about the Ukraine debacle.  There were also other times discussing the Russians and even how well Hillary did financially while in public office.  (Also a perfect time to ask her about cattle futures!)  I thought that would have been a perfect time to bring up the Uranium deal brokered through her State dept.  But, nary a mention of the uranium deal.  I would also note, that while not entirely Trump’s fault, we didn’t get into immigration nor the Clinton foundation.

That said, Trump did a terrific job at tying Clinton to the establishment ….. so much so, she had to own it.

I think, Hillary, for the most part, kept her poise.  But, she was on defense for most of the night.  She did get a few jabs in, but, they weren’t all that memorable.

THE RULE OF LAW!!!!!

One of the biggest things which have the establishment reeling is Trump’s comment I’d “instruct my attorney general to get a special prosecutor”.  And, “you’d be in jail.”  Of course, the left is spinning this as a desire to jail a political opponent.  This is something Trump should run with.  Hillary should be in jail for multiple offenses.  There’s not a rational and aware person in the U.S. who doesn’t understand Hillary has broke the law.  There are two sets of rules for the people in the US.  The laws the establishment people get to choose to obey and follow, and the laws us little people have to obey.  If there is no equal protection and equal application of the rule of law, there is no rule of law.  There is only tyranny.

BTW, pollster and pundit, and not particularly in Trump’s corner, Frank Luntz had this to say about Trump’s best moment in the debate.

Donald Trump’s highest moment when he held Hillary liable for her emails and called for a special prosecutor. #debate pic.twitter.com/V4eEIjnMlG

The pundits are saying Trump’s “special prosecutor” line was the worst part of the #debate.

But the people are saying it was the best.

Why did Trump’s “prosecutor” line do so well? Because most Americans (56%) think Hillary should’ve been indicted.https://t.co/3bwcmxR7VA

But, overall, how did Trump do?  Well, there’s this from a never-Trumper ….

Well, sadly, “dump Trump” probably over.

Van Jones (a noted leftard) thinks Hillary won because Trump sorta won.

HAHAHAHAHA @VANJONES68 SAID “HILLARY WON BECAUSE TRUMP WON”

MSM is truly adorable.https://t.co/dyVft8HLGC

But, CNN is holding on to their super sciency flash poll that Hillary won the debate.  Please be sure to read the emboldened parts.

(CNN)Donald Trump exceeded expectations, but Hillary Clinton won the second presidential debate, according to a CNN / ORC poll of debate watchers. The results showed a clear victory for Clinton, with 57% saying Clinton won, as opposed to 34% for Trump.

It’s a strong showing for Clinton, but not as good as her performance at the first presidential debate, when 62% of debate watchers said she won.

The results Sunday also track closely with watchers’ pre-debate preference. Fifty-eight percent of debate watchers said they were supporting Clinton before the debate.

Trump outperformed the baseline.

I’d go on about the fact-checking, but, it’s absurd and too lengthy …… acid wash vs bit bleach, line-in-the-sand vs red line, 35,000 emails (or so) vs 33,000 ……. it goes on and on.

Based upon the reaction of the people who hate Trump, I’d say he won hands down.  But, it wasn’t a knock-out by any means.  One more debate to go, and he has to do even better than he did last night to win the election.

  1. The election will really still come down to Americans ‘being better’ or not.

Hillary will be traumatized from here to the next debate. Will she still function?

And. Love that face Bill makes.

Probably the best analysis I have seen yet. And it took a foreigner to actually voice it.

Hillary is not use to being questioned. She never has been. She has had hecklers that have stunned her, but as yet, she has not had anyone deliver a body blow. And Trump did. Trump was not looking for a knockout, he wanted her to be alert and watching out for the next one. Which hopefully he will deliver in round 3.

Succinct, and direct on point. I give you 5 stars for that.

And 5 smiles for the Bill comment.

Father and daughter look nothing like each other.

We can talk about Trump’s recorded banter…
…but Clinton’s rape charges are in their past

Seems that subject has been hands off for everyone.

  5. Latitude says:

None of the news media are posting their polls….

    Trump won by a landslide
