I just thought I’d jot a note to let peeps know I’ll be back tomorrow with a post.  There’s a lot to cover!  Been busy with a revival I’ve been singing at.  If you’ve never been to a Southern Baptist revival, I’d highly recommend you do so!

  2. “I joked with friends months ago that by the end of the campaign, Steve Bannon would be running
Trump’s campaign from a bunker. That’s now reality. Every nightmare for actual conservatives
has come true in this campaign.” — Ben Shapiro, The Daily Wire

Ben Shapiro hates Trump… always has

      • I listened to Ben Shapiro’s Wednesday show. He said Trump’s Tuesday speech was the best so far. He awarded nine out of ten for some parts and ten out of ten for other parts of the speech. Plus Trump sounded like he meant what he was saying, and he hadn’t shot himself in the foot for the last 48 hours.

If this is due to the leadership change, then Bannon might be good for Trump. (Shapiro and Bannon have history in Breitbart News so there’s no love loss there.)

Shapiro even said if Trump could continue to sound like he means it, then he might change his mind a vote for Trump.

He also said the Trump campaign doesn’t seem to understand news cycles. They should have released the leadership change Friday night where the kerfuffle would have been lost over the weekend.

His comments don’t exactly sound like hate. He just doesn’t trust Trump.

We have to make up our minds if we want to shed the cycle of professional politicians or not. This is what it’s going to look like.

His comments don’t exactly sound like hate…

He’s just trying to sound credible..he doesn’t want to lose his entire audience….and he has a major hard on for Bannon…Bannon wouldn’t let him twist things

        • Latitude says:

Shapiro and Bannon have history in Breitbart News..

          And that’s even funnier…
The Hillary campaign is attacking Breitbart now…..which of course more people are looking to see what it’s all about
..and Breitbart’s numbers have flown off the chart

        • I’ll have to take your word for it. However, I don’t trust Trump either.

          Jim

        • Latitude says:

Shaprio took that woman reporters, Fields, side….and was doing his best to make a big deal out of it..
Shapiro left..and took a better job at FOX

He’s just trying to play both sides again

        • leftinflagstaff says:

          I do trust Hillary.

    • suyts says:

I’ll try to have something on that tomorrow.

The nightmare for conservatives started 6 years ago with the sellout of the republican establishment to Obama and the democrats.

  4. From The Hill (http://thehill.com/homenews/house/291785-trumps-breitbart-hire-sends-tremors-through-capitol-hill):
A second House Republican who has endorsed Trump said: “This doesn’t sound to me like someone interested in running a rational, positive message, let alone winning. Breitbart isn’t a legitimate news organization. It’s a disgraceful propaganda machine that is trying to divide the party.

“I think Trump wants to lose but have media control over 25 percent of the party so he can make money off of them.”

It’ll be interesting to see who actually wins this.

    Jim

      “Breitbart isn’t a legitimate news organization. ”

Don’t know who wrote that but you know what? Our legitimate news organisations are today’s Soviet Pravda and Iswestija so thank you very much but no thanks. Ok now let’s look who said it. What?
“A second House Republican who has endorsed Trump said”

That’s all? Oh THAT guy! So it must be true! A House Republican! That impresses me just as much as “A CDU member”.

    • Latitude says:

It’s a disgraceful propaganda machine that is trying to divide the party
      ===
translation: It’s the second highest rated conservative blog that doesn’t let republicans get away with their slimy crap….said no close ally of Ryan who Breitbart called out for open borders

Breitbart has been calling out republicans on their non-republican crap, no wonder they hate it

    • leftinflagstaff says:

Sure, it was Breitbart that divided the party.

    • Here’s something interesting in that Texas Policy poll (http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/main/2016/08/texans-down-on-cruz.html):
      >>
63% of voters in the state support holding confirmation hearings on Merrick Garland’s nomination to the Supreme Court, to only 18% who are opposed to them. 73% of Democrats, 63% of independents, and even 55% of Republicans support moving Garland’s nomination forward by holding those hearings.
      <<

So should we go ahead with Garland’s nomination now or wait for President Hillary’s pick later?

      Jim

    • suyts says:

Well, it is demonstrably true that Breitbart is a propaganda machine. It is also demonstrably true that Breitbart is dividing, did divide the Repub party. Whether or not this is a good thing remains to be seen.

  5. This is interesting James–it’s about your Cowboys:
    >>
Cowboys fans outnumbers Texans fans in the state 46/33. Tony Romo has a 39/24 favorability rating in the state but voters aren’t too impressed with his football skills. Only 30% think he is a elite Quarterback to 35% who say he is not elite and 35% who are not sure. We also asked who people think would do the best job at QB for the Cowboys in the year 2016 and only 28% picked Romo to 27% who picked Troy Aikman (who’s 49 years old) and 19% who picked Roger Staubach (who’s 74 years old). (http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/main/2016/08/texans-down-on-cruz.html)

    Jim

    • suyts says:

Heh! I wonder how they worded the question. A young Roger Staubach? Yeh, I’d pick him any time, over anyone.

Romo is a fascinating QB. It’s difficult to pinpoint the problem. The QB always gets the blame/fame. But, the fact is the Cowboys, overall, have been pretty mediocre with Romo at QB. But, I would say without Romo, the Cowboys would have been much less than mediocre. Indeed, his injured years demonstrate this. Over the years, without Romo the Cowboys are deplorable.

I think it is inarguable that Romo has been a very good QB over the years. Is he an elite QB? Such as Elway, or Montana, or the older Manning? Marino? Well, no, not yet. I fully believe he’s a better QB than the younger Manning, but, he doesn’t have a ring, so there’s that. It’s hard to place him in football history context, but, he’s not done, yet.

PPP is a Dim polling outfit. It’s funny to read that and the headline. Yeh, heh, Cruz is “down” in Texas …..

Only 50% of GOP voters say they’d like Cruz to be their Senate candidate again in 2 years, to 43% who say they would prefer someone else. He hovers right around that 50% mark in hypothetical match ups against both Michael McCaul (51/19) and Dan Patrick (49/27). …… One place it looks like Cruz would not face as much trouble is the general election. He would lead Julian Castro 48/36 and Wendy Davis 49/37 in hypothetical match ups.

Ted Cruz will be a senator from Texas as long as he wants to be.

    • DirkH says:

The warmunists here in Germany are making occasional desperate attempts to get into the headlines (unfortunately, ISIS, Erdogan, Juncker, Merkel et al won’t let them). Today they claimed that in 2015 70 million people would be allergic to Ambrosia because climate change would make that plant overtake the globe.

They’re really only a bunch of sorry losers at this stage. I mean, what, an ALLERGY? Yikes! Run fot the hills!

      • DirkH says:

And imagine. All the poor idiot students who started their studies in Climate Change 2007 when Al Gore was making millions with it. All worthless degrees and no jobs – because the old Warmunists occupy the professorships and will milk it to the last drop… and no growth in the warmunist sector.
