When You Enter Multi-Lateral Trade Agreements You Lose Your Autonomy

This is something for the leftarded globalists to consider, assuming they can think …….

WTO rules in favor of Mexico in dispute over US tuna labels

MEXICO CITY (AP) — The World Trade Organization has ruled in favor of Mexico in a trade dispute with the U.S., saying Washington’s requirement for “dolphin-safe” tuna labels is unfair to Mexican fishermen.

The WTO said U.S. labeling rules set different requirements depending on where a fish is caught. It said Friday that the result is “less favorable treatment to Mexican tuna products.”

A WTO appellate body reviewed the original ruling of a panel set up to settle the dispute first brought by Mexico in 2009. Friday’s ruling said U.S. dolphin-safe labeling for tuna products still does not meet the requirements set by the dispute panel.

Mexico originally argued that U.S. “dolphin-safe” labels were illegal because they restricted trade. Mexico says its tuna production meets international standards preventing accidental capture of dolphins in nets.

You see, Mexico’s tuna production doesn’t meet the US standards for the “dolphin-safe” labeling.  Too bad, apparently.  We signed a treaty promising to adhere to the edicts of the WTO rulings.  By treaty, their rules overrule our rules.

Anyone saying or believing we don’t give up our autonomy by signing such treaties needs only to look at the EU (an economic alliance) to absolutely know that we do.

Regardless of one’s views on this specific subject, what is happening is that people and organizations outside the US are dictating to the people of the US.  And, by treaty, we are without redress and recourse.

    Here’s an even worse thought…
We have entered into a trade agreement with developing countries that stand to get paid from global warming………

  2. I. Lou Minotti says:

These international treaties eminating from the UN are designed solely to overrule and undermine America’s constitutional republican system of governance. This is made even more disconcerting by the fact that the executive branch is positioned as the sole arbiter of these treaties that overrule our Constitution.

I do feel bad for Flipper, however.

Dirk, what are your papers saying today? This shoots Merkel and her Turkey Nato thing right out of the water.

Currently they are reporting as if Germany and the EU were entirely unaffected.

This means the journalists are still waiting for orders about how to report.

      • DirkH says:

Putin has send another ship with SAMs to the area. Says he has radar recordings that prove the Turkish jet who took down the Russian one violated the border, not the Russian one.

Turkish pilots will be living dangerously.

        • DirkH says:

Ok, German media got their orders:
“Turkey and Russia must now find ways to de-escalate. There must be no controversy in the fight against ISIS.”

German media are total scum and have long fired the last rational thinker or honest person. Don’t expect anything but the NATO propaganda line.

You can translate that as “we have no desire for an armed confrontation with Russia”.
