Packing at lunch? Restaurant robbery triggers discount for gun owners

Art Bouvier is giving the next person who tries to rob his Indianapolis Cajun-style eatery something to think about – by dangling a 25 percent discount for pistol-packing patrons.

After a man claiming to have a gun robbed Papa Roux Saturday night, the New Orleans native announced that customers with a valid a concealed handgun permit will get a quarter off their tab. Bouvier told FoxNews.com he hopes it will send a strong signal that it’s a bad idea to pull a gun with bad intentions in his restaurant.  ….

… Bouvier 46, cooked up the plan after a man walked into the restaurant and told the cashier he had a gun and demanded money. The suspect — who is still being sought — made off with cash from a tip jar and no one was hurt. Bouvier said a customer approached him shortly after the hold-up and said he had a gun and was prepared to use it if things got out of hand. But Bouvier, who already offers a 50 percent discount to police officers, noted that no one knew there was a law-abiding gun owner in the restaurant when the robbery occurred. That got him thinking.

“What if criminals recognize my restaurant as a place where legal and responsible gun owners come to dine?” he said. “They would think twice about what they’re doing.

“I don’t care if they bring in a gun or not,” Bouvier said of his customers. “The 25 percent discount is simply for showing you have a carry license, meaning you have a clean criminal record.”

Bouvier first made the announcement Sunday in a Facebook post that has since gone viral.

“If thugs are going to come in and threaten OUR extended family with guns, you’d better believe I will use every trick I know to protect our family,” he wrote.

Loyal customers left messages of support for Bouvier and his response to the robbery. …..

And, that’s how you win!

Don’t eat pork? With the new rampant wave of junk science am not sure this is anything to be trusted.
Furthermore I think their statistics is depending on what does one feed the animals… Surely if you feed your animals with all kind of junk their meat will end up containing that junk…

“Specifically, the modern factory farm creates meat that is much higher in saturated fats – and much lower in healthy omega 3s – than traditional grass-fed cows.”

I am pretty much through with this claim that saturated fats are unhealthy. Yes, grass fed butter is great, yes Omega 3 is great whether from grass fed butter or fatty fish (Herring, Mackerel, Thuna), eat ALL of that! But stop demonizing saturated fats. That’s how “The Oiling Of America” started in the first place, Ansel Keys 7 countries study fraud.

Well actually I wonder how much weed killer was in that meat and other such things, not going down the esoteric line.
As the statistics differ between countries with meat eaters greatly, I think the devil sits in the detail as usual – and it all boils down to what the meat contains.
And yes, there is the vegan push. Journalists have been mostly replaced by activists who push their side of the story, it is rare to find informative stories…

Forget the fixation on meat. Rule of thumb: If something does not cause cancer, it is not edible.

(Colon cells constantly get mechanically destroyed and are amongst the fastest in need of replacement so the ordinary cell division alone gives you a cancer risk there)

The complete list of things that give you cancer (according to epidemiologists)

    • DirkH says:

Allegedly scientists found that eating red meat can increase probability of colon cancer by 18%. I don’t know whether they found this in lab rats or by human cohort examination – but the latter is much more difficult due to scarcity of reliable data so I would guess it’s lab rats.

Now all the system media are roaring telling everyone meat is as dangerous as smoking (which increases probability of lung cancer by about 600%, not to speak of COPD).

What do we learn from this?
      a) Journalists never care for numbers.
      b) They urgently need any and all distractions from the islamisation of Europe / the US’s continuing collapse as a world power.
      c) Journalists hate meat. This could explain their shrunken brains. (Vit B12 deficiency)

Does this send your “bullshit meter” through the roof? … It sure does mine. This is pure and utter bullshit. I really have no other words for it.

    • suyts says:

Yeh, guys, I saw that and promptly ignored it. For some idiotic reason, the globalists want us all to be vegans. We’re omnivores. I would imagine not eating red meat would also cause higher cancer rates.

      • Lars P. says:

Yep, eggs and fried bacon the favourite breakfast here still.
For long time eggs were also demonized (cholesterol story) – this is nothing new. Now they start to backpadel on that thought…

Another case of restaurant owner struggling with accommodating vegans. He ended up by banning them, lol:
