There aren’t too many places left in America where a guy can just be a guy and do guy things — like talk about sports and tell a few jokes and hoist back a root beer — or two.
But the barbershop is still one of those places — a sanctuary for manliness. Except — that is – in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
John Interval owns Barbiere – a high end gentleman’s barber shop in the town of Washington. The shop features leather chairs, beer on tap and Sinatra on the stereo.
The other day Mr. Interval was slapped with a big fine after he refused to cut a lady’s hair – $750.
The state’s Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs said he was guilty of gender discrimination.
But Mr. Interval says it’s got nothing to do with discrimination.
“I didn’t really consider it so much a discrimination thing as — it’s a barber shop — for guys,” he told television station KDKA.
Seems a lot of folks agree with Mr. Interval. Nearly 100 have signed a petition opposing the board’s ruling.
“I think it’s ridiculous,” customer Jeff Andrewson,” told The Observer-Reporter. “You can clearly see no women come here to get their hair cut.”
But the state says the law is the law — which makes about as much sense as a guy going to a gynecologist for a prostate exam.
That’s such an apt analogy.
What sane person wants a haircut from someone who doesn’t want to give them a haircut? Does the lady not know, does the state not know there’s a big difference between women’s hair and men’s? What sane person wants to eat a cake from someone who doesn’t want to bake it for you?
It’s time to turn the tables and give these lunatics exactly what they’re begging for. Give the bitch a haircut. Bake them the cakes. And, do it with all the love and care these lunatics feel towards you.
But, go beyond that. Go to the places which specialize in catering to feminazis and hotos! Occupy their time and resources! So much so, that they can’t cater to the people they wish to cater to!
Every time they open a freak’s bathroom, take it over.
Every time I see crap like this I get to thinking these people aren’t very tolerant of people such as myself. Now, typically, I’m a pretty tolerant person. If you can tolerate me and my ways, I’ll tolerate you. But, when they start attacking bakers and barber shops, I know they’re not tolerant. The notion of equal protection and equal justice doesn’t mandate that I have to engage with and congregate with people I don’t wish to 24/7. I’m sick of this crap!
