Well, like most other things, the climate lunatics entirely and utterly fail to understand what progress is and does. How we apply our energy and the
near infinite resources this globe has. There are two reasons why I crossed out the word “near”. The globe’s resources are infinite 1) because of physics. Humans can neither create nor destroy matter. We can only change the properties. And 2) Humans are constantly finding new ways to change matter (and energy’s) properties.
The climate lunatics and the “overpopulation” zealots, (most often one in the same) completely fail to grasp these 2 truisms.
So, we’re told the planet is warming and has been accelerating since about the 60s or so. One of the many horrors predicted by the lunatics is that global warming will cause crop production to decrease. FAOSTAT (a UN organization) keeps track of our global crop production. They have many different ways to view this and many different categories, some of which are crossover categories. Ensuring there is no double counting, there are nine categories which would total global crop production if summed. Cereals, Roots and Tubers, Coarse Grain, Vegetables & Melons, Fruit excl Melons, Pulses, Fibre Crops Primary, Treenuts, and Jutes. Typically, I don’t graph the bottom 4 because one can’t easily graph them with the top five crop production categories. Today, I thought I’d show them both on separate graphs ….
With the exception of Jutes, everything seems to be going swimmingly! Can someone please show me the crop production disruption caused by global warming?!?!?!?!?!?!
And, as a bonus, for the overpopulation dimwits …… here’s our total crop production in tonnes compared to the world’s population over the same time period. ….
We are producing more food per person in the world than any other time in history of this world. World population is expected to peak around 2050 ……. assuming the lunatics allow civilization to continue. It is the underdeveloped nations which contribute to population growth. Developed societies have a near zero or some even under zero population growth. In order to develop the 3rd world, we need (gasp!!!) cheap and reliable fuel and energy.
The depravity of the lunatics and their advocacy, combined with their intentional ignorance of basic facts remains unfathomable for me.
As mentioned above, the source for the graphs is FAOSTAT.
