Open Thread And Tips And Whatnot!!!

I’m a little peaked today, so I’m not tracking as well as I should.  So, we’ve an open thread.

Maybe a little Bellamy Brothers will fix me right up!

Back in the 80s, these guys were huge!

And, here’s a nod to our friends in the South, who seem to be attacked on daily basis.

What a sad, sad state of affairs for all humanity, driven by a 1945 decision to “save society from annihilation” by hiding from the public the source of energy that destroyed Hiroshima – NEUTRON REPULSION in cores of
    _ 1. The universe
    _ 2. The galaxies
    _ 3. Ordinary stars
    _ 4. Some planets
_ 5. All atoms heavier than ~150 amu (atomic mass units) including atoms of Uranium & Plutonium that destroyed Hiroshima & Nagasaki on 6 & 9 AUG 1945.

An attempt to save society destroyed the integrity of national governments and government science.

“Oh what a tangled web we weave,
When first we practice to deceive!”

  5. I’ve been to my berry patch. Picked blueberries and blackberries.
Had some blackberries for lunch, yum yum. What, you guys don’t
    have a berry patch?

    • Latitude says:

      sorta….I grow Jaboticaba!

      • DirkH says:

        Cool plant!

      • gator69 says:

Those are cool, but would never survive the winters here.

      • Latitude says:

They can take a freeze for a few hours only….actually a tropical cherry….but taste exactly like the best old timey concord grape you ever had, the kind you used to have to crack with your teeth first then squirt it into your mouth, sorta muscadine scuppernong…I make jams and pies with them when I don’t eat them all

    • gator69 says:

I have many berry patches on my property, mainly wild blackberry which are just now starting to ripen. I munch on them whenever they are within arms reach.

I saw this post at Chiefio:
That seems to fix an annoying firefox history scroll with fast mouse wheel movement.

Laibach, DAF cover, Alle Gegen Alle (All Against All)

Ladytron – Destroy Everything You Touch
Looks like a Global Cooling video.

    Me might like this.
Rammstein / Mein Land (“My Land”)

    • gator69 says:

German music has been all downhill since this…

      • DirkH says:

Well isn’t Händel kinda simplistic (at least here)… Rammstein is actually more contrapunctual, if that’s the right translation for kontrapunktisch; more like this…

        which is Walter/Wendy carlos on a Moog…
(and not atypical for a Rock band)

    • suyts says:

      Yes, I think he would!

      • DirkH says:

I’m not much of a Rammstein fan – for the music. Their texts though were prescient and continue to be. Which might not come across to you. They are decidedly patriotic and non-leftist.
BTW both Laibach and Rammstein are kinda resistance groups having grown up under communist regimes – Laibach in Yugoslavia, Rammstein in the DDR.

And, here’s a nod to our friends in the South, who seem to be attacked on daily basis.

Heh, given the munchies occurring off the Carolina coast lately how can I not include this science story? I saw it at Fox News today but this version has a great headline and an even better first sentence.

    Sharks Love Death Metal!

Of course they do. What self respecting Great White would listen to Justin Bieber?

  11. DirkH says:

I’m actually shocked. zerohedge claims Hillary clinton is worth only 21 million USD.
How did she manage to squander all her speaking fees?

  12. gator69 says:

A team of scientists who recently dropped a camera into an underwater volcano off the Solomon Islands made an unanticipated discovery when they reviewed the footage.

“You never know what you’re going to find. Especially when you are working deep underwater. The deeper you go, the stranger it gets,” ocean engineer Brennan Phillips said in a statement.
So what exactly did the team discovery? Sharks. Multiple sharks living inside the underwater volcano, seemingly not affected by the hostile conditions which include high temperatures and acidity.

    More unsettling science.

  13. gator69 says:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday called international negotiations with Iran a “parade of concessions,” especially since the talks have continued apace while Iran’s leaders issue threatening statements against the U.S. and Israel.

Speaking at his weekly cabinet meeting, Netanyahu also made the unusual move of playing for his ministers a video of former President Bill Clinton praising the 1994 nuclear agreement with North Korea. Despite that agreement, 12 years later, North Korea detonated a nuclear weapon.

What difference at this point does it make? Everybody will disappear in a cloud of blue steam anyway, as Obama has pointed out, no challenge poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change.

    (Pass me the barf bag)

  14. omanuel says:

Are we witnessing the beginning of the end for those who sought fortune, fame and power. We can’t save them or the world, but we can keep in mind that

“Happiness is a by-product from knowing and fulfilling our own purpose in life:

We each have the same purpose: To make this beautiful, bountiful and benevolent universe even better because we are part if it.”
