Confederate Flag Issue Going Well Beyond Ridiculous To Absurd …… “Dukes Of Hazzard” Pulled From TV Land!!!!

TV Land pulls reruns of ‘Dukes of Hazzard’

The latest victim of the growing controversy over the Confederate flag is the 1980s TV series “The Dukes of Hazzard.”

A TV Land spokesperson confirmed Tuesday that the network has pulled reruns of the series from its schedule, which had been airing twice a day.

The network declined to comment on why the episodes were removed, but the southern-set show has come under fire recently for its depiction of the Confederate flag, which is emblazoned on the hood of the Duke Boys’ signature 1969 orange Dodge Charger.

Warner Bros., which owns “The Dukes of Hazzard,” last week halted production on toy replicas of the car dubbed the General Lee. That followed moves by other retailers such as Walmart and eBay to stop selling items bearing the Stars and Bars after the deadly church shooting in Charleston, SC, in June.

A petition telling Viacom and Warner Bros. to “Stop Banning Dukes of Hazzard” had collected nearly 400 signatures since launching on Tuesday.

“The Dukes of Hazzard” originally aired on CBS from 1979-85 and followed the adventures of cousins Bo Derek (John Schneider) and Luke Derek (Tom Wopat) who raced around town in their trusty stock car.

This article originally appeared in The New York Post.

Now, I was never a huge “Dukes of Hazzard” fan, but, anyone who watched that show knows and understands there’s not a thing offensive about it ….. other than the lame slapstick.

It’s absurd.  I don’t care about the “Dukes” not airing, but, I do care about the absurdity some fellow Americans are engaged in.  It needs to stop.

Let us also recognize, this is part of the ultimate goal of leftards.  It is to destroy everything uniquely Americana.  It’s time to tell the children they’ve gone to far and have taken advantage of our goodwill once too often.

It’s pretty damn pathectic when people define themselves as being offended by some flag….or just about anything else really
It’s even more pathetic when other people give in to it

  2. gator69 says:

Hasn’t the KKK used the cross to terrorize blacks for 150 years? Why not ban the cross?

  3. gator69 says:

Dukes of Hazzard used to piss me off, though I was a fan of the General Lee, I cannot stand to see classic cars being destroyed.

Somewhere between 256 and 321 “General Lee” cars were created and mostly destroyed during the series. Less than 20 in various states of disrepair still exist. Despite popular belief, there were no 1970 Chargers used in the series according to all the car builders.

  4. When I post a comment a little ‘thingie’ shows in front of my name.
It’s red white and blue and has a cross.
    Will it be banned too?

  5. gator69 says:

Looks like “teens” are upset that Walmart has banned the Rebel Flag… or something…

JUNE 30–Led by a teenage boy throwing gang signs, a mob of vandals descended on a Walmart store in Georgia early Sunday and trashed the business in a reported attempt to “see how much damage they could cause,” police allege.

During the 1:45 AM ransacking of the Walmart in Macon, rioters pulled a patron from an electric wheelchair and dragged him to the floor, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office report.

As seen below, a Walmart surveillance camera recorded the vandals racing through store aisles.

Investigators say that a “crowd of 40-50 individuals consisting of black males and females” were led into the store by Kharron Green, 17, who can be seen on surveillance video “presenting gang signs in the air with his hands.”

“in a reported attempt to “see how much damage they could cause,” police allege.”

      Looked like 3.50 of damage.

  6. gator69 says:

When racist signs were recently found posted outside of the predominantly black New Covenant church in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Pastor Roland Joyner said he “locked” the doors while congregants were inside worshiping out of fear.

But many were likely stunned to see a photo of the man suspected of leaving the racist signs, one of which referenced the Ku Klux Klan and another that warned “black men” they were the “target.”

What flag was he flying? Ban it!

    Happy Whatever Day!

  8. gator69 says:

This is an unforgivable slap in the face of the Marines who fought to give freedoms to all, including gays. 7000 Marines died and 20,000 were wounded taking this tiny island, and their only reward at the end of this horrific and unimaginable battle was to raise the Stars and Stripes in honor of our country, and those who sacrificed all. Apparently the LGBT community holds nothing as sacred, not even those who died for their right to make complete asses of themselves.

If we are now going to ban flags, I have a suggestion.

    • DirkH says:

Military is perfectly fine with gay symbols.

      • gator69 says:

Not any of the military I have known, and I grew up military, my entire family is military.

That patch was worn by the Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force in WWII, and being gay would have meant the end of your military career.

        • DirkH says:

          It’s – a – RAINBOW.
Wait til you get the next version of the history books.

        • gator69 says:

Why is it gays must coopt the best of our things, and then ruin them?

        • DirkH says:

You do know that the Wizard of Oz movie was a dud when it came out and only later became the cult classic?

        • gator69 says:

I was refencing rainbows, and a beautiful woman, both of which were coopted by gays. And truth be told the movie did quite well, and was well received, at least in this country.

          Academy Awards
Best Song – E. Y. Harburg and Harold Arlen for “Over The Rainbow”
Best Original Score – Herbert Stothart
A special Academy Juvenile Award for “Best Performances by a Juvenile” – Judy Garland (The award was also for her work in Babes in Arms.)
Best Picture nomination (lost to Gone with the Wind, Directed by Victor Fleming as well)
Best Art Direction nomination – Cedric Gibbons and William A. Horning
Best Cinematography (Color) nomination – Harold Rosson
Best Special Effects nomination – A. Arnold Gillespie and Douglas Shearer

The movie received critical acclaim upon release. Frank Nugent considered the film a “delightful piece of wonder-working which had the youngsters’ eyes shining and brought a quietly amused gleam to the wiser ones of the oldsters;” “not since Disney’s Snow White has anything quite so fantastic succeeded half so well.”

The high production cost meant that it took 15 years to see a profit, but it was a hit with the critics and audiences from the start.

  9. DirkH says:

Blacks of Den Haag , Denmark are rioting for four days now because one black died in police custody.
Barricades, fire, water throwers, tear gas. Photos, video.
German media do not report on frontpages but have some small understanding “Black lives matter” style expressions of sympathy for the poor Noble Savages.

  10. iknowthetruth1 says:

I haven’t checked on all allegations yet, but EBay has not banned Dukes of Hazzard merchandise. That makes me question the validity of the rest.

The rebel flag is an iconic symbol of the South. For some, it represents racist views; for some, a symbol of hope longing for a time before “big brother” started controlling everything; but for others, it is just a flag, and the Dukes of Hazzard, belonging to the latter, just a show that makes people laugh.

    • suyts says:

iknow, sorry for the wait in moderation. You’re now approved for freely commenting.

As to the validity, re. EBay … it was reported by CNN, US News, and a whole host of other semi-credible news organizations.
