June 28 Scripture Selection: Psalm 43-44

Food for Thought: Ps. 43:1

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven,” Jesus says. He continues, “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you (Mat. 5:10-12).” It sure feels terrible to be falsely accused of something. Everything within us wants to strike back, but the Lord has some better instructions for us when we face such things.

First, let the Lord vindicate you. Trust Him; He is a much better defender than you could be with your natural abilities. David said in Psalm 7:10, “My defense is of God, Who saves the upright in heart.” (See also Ps. 59:16, 17; Ps. 124.) He will give you the wisdom necessary and direct you in the right way to go if you will submit the outcome to Him (Eccl. 7:12). One thing for sure, you won’t have to do things the world’s ways. You won’t “fight fire with fire.” And you can count on Him to do justice on your behalf (Ps. 89:14; 103:6.)

Secondly, your part in all this is to use your words of faith. You have the right to condemn with your mouth every tongue that rises up against you in judgment (Is. 54:17). Since the battle is not against flesh and blood, you do this in the spirit-realm with your prayers and declarations of faith. This position of authority is your heritage because you belong to the righteous Kingdom of God.

As you call on the Lord for your vindication, trusting in Him, and you condemn the tongues that rise up unjustly against you, the enemy weakens, and the Lord rushes in with the victory. It is only matter of time. So rejoice!
