What a brilliant, f’n idea!!!!
So, Breitbart had this, earlier ….
On Thursday, House Democrats called Republicans “xenophobic” for opposing an amendment that would allow illegal aliens to serve in America’s armed forces.
Democrats have started another push to allow illegals to serve in the military, after which they would receive citizenship. But some Republicans feel that offering spots in the military to illegals will directly prevent actual American citizens from serving.
Democrats disagree with that point and claim that Republicans just don’t like Hispanics.
“I would hate to see the time and the talent and the desire of these young people to serve their country squashed by people who will attack them at every turn for no reason simply than they are ‘other,’ ” Rep. Linda Sánchez (D-Calif.) said.
Arizona Democrat Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), an Iraq War veteran, attached the amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). Gallego’s amendment has the support of members of the House Armed Services Committee. But Alabama Republican Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) warns that this policy could limit opportunities for actual citizens.
“As America’s military downsizes, there are a limited number of enlistment opportunities for American citizens,” Brooks said. “Each time an illegal alien takes an enlistment opportunity, an America or lawful immigrant loses an enlistment opportunity. The ratio is one-to-one. Period. That is math.”
Iowa Republican Rep. Steve King (R-IA) was also opposed to the amendment. Calling it an “amnesty amendment,” King was opposed to the idea because he felt it was a backdoor way to legitimize Obama’s amnesty policies.
“This policy would provide a fast track to citizenship for those accepted into a program Congress has voted to defund three times… It is the wrong policy on the wrong bill at the worst time,” King said.
But liberals in the House attacked Republicans as mere xenophobes. …..
Yes, of course … xenophobes.
But, to both sides …. the U.S. military isn’t a f’n jobs program, you jackasses!!!! It’s a calling, a duty (for those who have the calling), and an commitment to the American people.
As Dirk pointed out, this is the fall of Rome, all over again. There is no possible rationale to have people committed to a different people, and a different nation, serving in one’s military.
Anyone believing illegals should serve in our military is either willfully or ignorantly calling for the fall of the US. Rep. Gallego, in my estimation is treasonous. His loyalties clearly lay in interests other than this nation. He’s advocating an ethnic group above the interests of this nation.
I’ve much more to say on this, but, it isn’t printable. On this subject, I don’t know that I can ever calm down enough to write what is necessary in a proper manner.
I served with Blacks, Whites, Hispanics, Asians, Indians (both dot and feather) ….. none of that matters. What mattered was that we were all Americans, committed to the US flag, and all that it stands for. Anything less renders a person unacceptable for service in the military. A person, with citizenship of a different nation, who demonstrates a willful disregard for this nation’s laws is entirely inappropriate for US military service. Anyone believing otherwise ….. well, I’d be more than happy to have a face to face “conversation” about this subject. Bastards of whore pigs, the lot of them!
