May 1 Scripture Selection: I Chronicles 22-24
Food for Thought: I Chron. 22:13c
“Be strong and of good courage; do not fear nor be dismayed.” What powerful, appropriate words for whatever you may be facing today! These words standing alone are good, but there is even more strength in them when your eyes are fixed on the Lord and your ears attentive to hear the encouragement of the Holy Spirit Who lives in you. As a loving Father, He is always before you, looking after you and reassuring you that everything by faith will be all right, especially when you are in the middle of something difficult or about to endeavor something great.
We all need encouragement from time to time, and the revelation of God’s Word is the best way to get it. Colossians 2:2, 3 explains that our hearts are encouraged by “attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” As we draw from Him and His Word, we gain revelation and understanding and cannot help but be encouraged. They are the very reason that we can be strong and courageous without fearing or being dismayed.
So today, make the quality decision by faith to receive these words of exhortation to be strong and of good courage and not fear nor be dismayed. Draw from the Word and the promises of God. With them, your are fully equipped to handle every challenge that you may face today.
