The defining characteristic of the so-called “Progressives” is not their fury, their vindictiveness or even their stupidity. Their defining descriptor is that they will NOT, not EVER, leave anyone alone. They are the most anti-freedom bunch of fanatics this nation has ever seen. If anyone, anywhere, any time, is doing something or thinking of doing something, of which they disapprove then they will unleash total war upon the evil-doers.
America was, to a great degree, founded on the principle of “you mind your business and I’ll mind mine.” The “Progressives” are a step back into totalitarianism.

I would say that the progressives are completely immersed into totalitarianism. It’s not a step back, but a completed walk along the path to totalitarianism.
