Jimmy C. Newman, the first Cajun singer ever to join the Grand Ole Opry, has died.
I was reminded of this for the whole lot of them

And I remember that solar eclipse in March 1970. It was 97% where I was at the time. I believe that no other solar eclipse visible in the places I’ve lived in was so close to the totality zone.
