BAGHDAD (AP) — Warning of the “existential threat” posed by Sunni militants, Secretary of State John Kerry said Monday the U.S. is prepared to take military action even if Baghdad delays political reforms, noting that the risks of letting the insurgency run rampant threaten dangers beyond Iraq’s borders.
But he stressed military action would not be in support of the present Shiite-led government of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. …..
“The future of Iraq depends primarily on the ability of Iraq’s leaders to come together and take a stand united against ISIL,” Kerry told a news conference, using the acronym for the al-Qaida-breakaway group, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, that has captured huge swathes of Iraqi territory in the north and west.
“Not next week, not next month, but now,” he said. “It is essential that Iraq’s leaders form a genuinely inclusive government as rapidly as possible.”
Well, yes, John, by all mean, the Iraqis should form an inclusive government. How many representatives have ISIS earned by torturing and killing the rest of the people of Iraq?
Are you stupid? Do you not see what they’re demonstrating? ….. oh, NVM, I see that team Zero supports the Sunni type of terrorists, rather than the Shiite. Team Zero is also demonstrating that they don’t give a damn about the Kurds, or their perspective.
ISIS poses a threat to US interests, according to team Zero. And, according to team Zero, we’re willing to take military action. But, not, unless Iraq decides to be inclusive towards to the lunatics whose base forms ISIS.
Were I part of Iraq’s government, I’d tell the US to go get screwed and call Iran and, beg Russia for some help.
This goes beyond even the most bizarre past US government intervention.
Look. As much as I would like it to be so, we, the US, or any other government, cannot make these people sit down and hold hands and sing Kum Ba Yah. It isn’t going to happen.
Had we stayed, and left a stabilizing force, we may have had a say in all of this. But, we didn’t, and so we don’t.
What could we do and what should we do?
I’m torn on this. And, because I’m torn on this, I think we should do nothing.
The reason why I’m torn is for two reasons. When I think of all of the American lives lost to depose a tyrant, show the people democracy, and stabilize the nation, I can’t help but know we’ve wasted the sacrifice of our brave sons and daughters. This hurts, badly.
Further, I also know, if Iraq succumbs to the madness of ISIS, we’ll be confronted by them sooner or later. This isn’t a “maybe”, it is a fact. I know this as sure as I know the sun will come up tomorrow. If we don’t stop them now, we’ll only allow the richness of Iraq to fund their terrorism and insanity.
OTOH, it really isn’t our business, other than the fact that our people left their life’s blood there. We don’t need to nation build, anymore. Post-post WWII, I can’t think of one example where it has benefited the US, or humanity. As it turns out, as a modern imperial power, we suck at it. They all end up hating us.
And, regardless of the outcome of this latest, of the continuous crimes against humanity, they’ll end up hating us. Let them bastards kill the crap out of themselves, and when they’re done, drone the heck out of the winners.
As a bonus, after we drone them into oblivion, let’s make what the leftarded lunatics accused Bush of become true, and simply take their oil. We paid for it. We bought it with our blood. And, this is how they act when they were given a shot at a prosperous democracy. They turned back to the animals they are as soon as everyone left.
On this, my comments and thoughts are because of what we’ve already done and how we should react to events. However, for the last time, we should learn from this. STOP!!!!!!
As bad as the globalists want this to be a global community, it isn’t going to happen!!! We’re not their mommies and daddies, and we can’t make them get along. And, it’s none of our business. We can’t fix all of the ills in this world, we can’t even fix all the ills in this nation. How is it that our leaders have the hubris that we can fix other people’s problems, but, we can’t fix ours?
Wipe the mote from our neighbors’ eyes as soon as we take the beam out of our own!!!!!
