Isn’t It Weird How They Omit 2013?? Ice Alarmism!!!!

So, you can check out, daily, how the Arctic is is faring, thanks to our National Snow & Ice Data Center (NSIDC).  When I’m curious, I just go to Anthony’s Ice Page.  You can see a lot more than what the NSIDC wants you to see.

This is what NSIDC shows you.

Weird, isn’t it?  2013 seems not to have happened!!!  But, here we are in 2014.

No worries, when the ice is on the upswing, I’m pretty sure we’ll move on to 2013

That’s because leftards like to sway the public with half-truths and lies.  It’s just the way they roll.

Yep, 😆 I hear some communities have to have their supplies flown in by a twin otter due to the thick ice.

I’m pretty sure the dotted line that NSIDC has shown the last several years has always been for the record low year. Since at least 2010 (when I started following sea ice) through 2012, the dotted line was 2007, not the year prior to the current date. After the 2012 season, the dotted line changed to 2012 since it was the new record.

Of course, if every year we end up well above 2012, then showing the record will actually hurt their propaganda…only time will tell what’s going to happen.

      What happened to 2013?

Scott, thanks, and very happy to see you commenting!

Yes, what you stated is true. But, is there a basis for such? As demonstrated by the graphs, earlier ice extent doesn’t seem to relate to the minimum in Sept. And, I think that’s why they do it. In May, the Arctic ice extent was significantly below 2012’s May. Again, what’s the basis for doing such, other than propaganda purposes?

To be sure, I’d post the max and min come September, but, why year around, especially when you know it doesn’t seem to relate, but, knowing most people would relate it? Maybe I’m being too cynical, but, I’m pretty sure I’m not.

    2012 is their new 2007! 😉

This is exactly the sort of thing that makes me so infuriated with the activists who call themselves scientists. The NSIDC and NOAA are worst (I don’t regard GISS as scientists at all, they are not worthy of the term).

I am so sad my profession has come to this, I held science in awe when I was a kid and wanted to be a scientist so much. Now these money grubbing ideologues are ruining it so badly its criminal.

Anthony ran a blog on – they were showing Fulsom lake in California – 2 pictures. They claimed “one year to the next”. The years were actually 2011 and 2014. Alarmists have an allergy to the truth.
