Open Thread!!! Reunion!!! ….. Posting May Be Sparse Today!

For the regular readers of Suyts, the erratic posting phase is almost over.  I’m settling back down into a routine, which, God willing, will remain for some time.  But, for the immediate future, it will be erratic for a bit longer ……

Today, I’m off to a family reunion!  It’s a funny event for my dad’s side of the family.  Nearly all of us are God fearing, like-minded people.  Even though there are some Democrats among us, even they would be seen as conservative to most of the world.  It’s great to get together with so many like-minded people!

In this family, though, we can divide ourselves.  Some drink, others do not.  So, usually, after the “reunion”, we have another get-together ….. only with beer and such!  Last night, I had a prelude with a cousin.  So, I may, or may not be able to post too much today, though, there’s plenty to post about.

Tuesday, I’ll have my other eye scraped, and my cataract removed from that eye.  Doc doesn’t want me doing any close work because of the eye movement. …… we’ll see.  I’m going to be put under for this procedure.  I was awake for the last one, and didn’t like it very much.  They put me out to administer the lidocaine to my eye, but, I was awake for the rest of it.  When working on my right eye, they draped my left and then told me it was very important for me not to move at all or talk or anything, especially, they said, “don’t even blink”…… and away they went.  Immediately, my body itched.  My throat felt full and needed cleared.  My mind was racing in a thousand directions …. ‘oh no!!!  I’m going to blink and permanently blind myself!!!!  Lidocaine?  WTF?  Why not Marcaine?  It lasts longer!!!!  oh no!!!!  The lidocaine is going to wear off!!!!  How long have they been at this????’ ……. It seemed like an eternity.   I’m going to be out, this time around.  It’s not that I wouldn’t do it again, but, no, I’d rather not.

In the meantime, for those who share the eclectic musical taste like I have, and while a reunion is on my mind, I found this jewel.  If you haven’t heard it, but, share the appreciation for such music, you’ll love this one!  If you have but, haven’t heard it in many years, you’ll appreciate it even more.

…that was hysterical….I know exactly what you mean

    Have fun at the reunion!

  2. HankH says:

Enjoy your reunion. I hope your procedure on Tuesday goes well and you recover quickly.

My wife comes from a long time moderate fiscally conservative Democrat family who are hard working small business owners. It’s curious to be around them. They all hate what’s becoming of our country. Many of them will vote Republican next election if a well articulated candidate is put forth, especially if Hack Hillary or Clown Biden are candidates (we can only hope).

If your family and mine are indicators, and I hope they are, many Dems are becoming disillusioned with what the Democrat party has turned into and not willing to to go down that path any further. The upcoming mid-term may be very telling.

    • DirkH says:

      They’re slow learners.

      • HankH says:

My wife’s family are old school Democrats who, if you heard them talk, sound more like Republicans today. It will be interesting to see how they vote in upcoming elections. From what I hear, they aren’t at all happy with their party anymore.

It appears the Dems are also losing the youth vote too. They’ve realized the whole Zerocare debacle is a ponzi scheme and are becoming disillusioned. Things are looking good for a conservative takeover – I hope.

        • DirkH says:

It’s similar with old SPD voters. They remember an SPD that actually worked for workers rights; the modern SPD dominated by Kampflesben, fighting for limitless muslim immigration, is something that has nothing in common with them yet they keep voting for them as they didn’t notice the shift.

        • DirkH says:

And I won’t translate Kampflesben as it’s just too poetic and exact.

        • HankH says:

Kampflesben – way too funny. It truly is poetic. 😆

        • philjourdan says:

The opposite of my father’s family. They will never be anything but democrats and will believe what they are told to.

        • philjourdan says:

          @Dirk – Kampflesben – Call them groupies.

      • philjourdan says:

        Most democrats are.

    • kim2ooo says:

      My whole family switched.

The straw that broke the back… was the way Obama treated religious conscience freedoms in Obamacare.

      • Me says:

Climate gate should have done that before this, but then again you only pay attention to their boring crap until it hits home, and then it’s almost too late to do anything about it because they write laws and pass that crap while no one is paying attention. That is what they do, and hope no one notices what is going on anymore. Well thanks again Thanks to Climate Gate and the bullshit artist pushing this thing you woke up the sleeping giant, I hope that serves you well. And I really hope this is what you didn’t intend to encounter because it is what you all deserve.

        • Me says:

I don’t mean you Kim or anyone else here, I mean the leftards, or the libtards. And you too Dirk for some reason.

        • Me says:

Sorry, I mean Dirk I kinda trust you too, even though what we went through tonight! but that is it. Nothing more and if you all don’t trust Me, well thatis just as well and fine with Me. I wouldn’t expect anything less.

        • Me says:

As I am not of the religeous type, If that is my failing here then so be it. I’ll leave it at that and let it go. Thank You.

I was there, along with many others, when the Climategate dump was made.

The problem THEN… I didn’t associate the Climategate dump…to Democrats, or any political party. I suspect, most of us saw it as Science – Pseudoscience gone wild. It’s easy to connect the dots… after the fact.

As I am not of the religeous type….

I don’t think one must be a Religious to understand the gravity of Obama’s treatment of religious conscience freedoms in Obamacare. That treatment of religious conscience should pisoff every Constitution Loving American.

        • philjourdan says:

The opposite of favoring religion is not antagonism towards religion, but (as the Constitution insists), the EQUAL treatment of all faiths. Obama failed that.

        • philjourdan says:

Appell just had his arse handed to him by Dr. Curry about Climategate (and Gestapogate). He was trying to defend the duplicity and she shut him off. Told him to check the dictionary for the meaning of hypocrisy.

I’m sure this doesn’t mean anything.

    Bomb this, Barack.

    • Me says:

Well Russia has plenty of natural resourses as Canada has, so I guess the bottom line is blame Canada, and the plan can go FOREWARD! 😆

    • DirkH says:

NO! news about this in German OR American MSM.

All the journalists still wait for NATO’s official stance on this so they know how to frame it. What a despicable bunch of assholes.

      • Me says:

Why would NATO respond to this?

        • DirkH says:

OUr pond scum journalists always run NATO’s take on everything.
Financial measures by the BRICS are warfare. Plain and simple. This war is not fought with nukes. It’s about destroying the Petrodollar, and with it, American hegemony.

        • Me says:

Ahhhh, I see, kinda like the UN overstepping it’s bounds for what it was setup for.

        • DirkH says:

          Yes.

        • DirkH says:

Well. The UN was actually founded to fight fascism – but came into existence about 6 months AFTER German capitulation.

Then, the UN started to try to fullfill the old Fabian Socialist masterplan, as documented in H G Welles “Shape of things to come” , and tried to become the world’s dominant military force – to create a world government.

They stopped this strategy only after killing half a million people in Katanga 1961.

The UN was always founded under a deceptive agenda, having a very different goal from the start.

        • Me says:

So Poland doesn’t fit in the Warsaw pact anymore.

        • DirkH says:

There’s no Warsaw pact anymore. Poland is member of NATO (and trained the Ukraine fascists that made the Putsch possible).

        • Me says:

Yeah, no Warsaw pact, but in name only.

        • Me says:

And don’t get me wrong, Polish are an industrius and hard working people, hence why Warsaw pact was what they were called, I guess Poland saw through that.

        • DirkH says:

See, I was in Warsaw in 1995. The people are just great. This is about Empire politics – When the USSR collapsed NATO promised to not advance towards Russia; and broke the promise as soon as Russia was on its knees, expanding into Poland and the Baltic states – right up to Russian borders. The Russians have never complained about that. Now that NATO wanted the Crimea, it was a step too far.

The Warsaw pact was called that simply because it was signed there. The Poles want nothing to do with Socialism – that’s why they’re skeptical of the EU commission these days.

        • Me says:

So if NATO would have never haved fromed, how far do you think the USSR would have went?

        • Me says:

          …..formed…..

        • DirkH says:

The USSR and all its puppet states were DESTROYED in 1990. They had used up the substance left over from 1945. A socialist system CANNOT run an economy.

I’ve seen the rubble in the DDR and Poland that they called their cities. Looked a lot like Detroit. It all imploded, and it was inevitable. The only sector that worked in the Warsaw pact was the underground economy – Criminals operate under strictly capitalist principles even when the state refuses to do so. Hence the “Russian Mafia”.

Russia re-established itself by switching to capitalism – including paying for the help of German and Austrian firms in modernizing their mining sector.

        • DirkH says:

Oh you mean how far the red Army would have advanced. The Nazis were busy in the last days surrendering to the Western Allies as fast as they could, to get occupied by THEM instead of the Russians – the Red Army was committing terrible atrocities.

          This was way before NATO.

        • Me says:

A means to an end, doesn’t meant it’s done and over, things like this always pop up when the opportunity arises. History will repeat weathe we like it or not.

        • Me says:

Nope, nothing to do with the Nazis. This was after the fact.

        • DirkH says:

Do you want to defend NATO? Had their purpose when there was still a USSR. Also; looked rather morally sound. Nothing to do with the sleazy immoral expansionist lying NATO of today. Hint: Their mass rape propaganda story they churn out every time they need to bomb a country to steal its Gold or run a pipeline through it.

Well I take that back. They were also behind GLADIO in the early 1980ies. Killed a few hundred people in the Bologna train station false flag.

Ok, they were always a Mafia. Or worse.

        • Me says:

Isn’t Germany a part of NATO?

“Isn’t Germany a part of NATO?”

Of course; as Obama has said while visiting Rammstein, we are an occupied country.

          “And remember the LSM???”

In Soviet Russia, you don’t read the newspapers to know the truth; you read it to know the lies. That’s why I read them. You have to understand; since the collapse of the USSR, media in the West have all been synchronized over time. I think it became necessary to justify all the ongoing wars. It’s ALL lies now.

        • DirkH says:

The pond scum journalists do not write lies in a free-wheeling fashion. They are tightly controlled, they get orders.

You notice that when the ongoing Ukraine civil war vanishes from the frontpages – while underground media speak of a thousand deaths. These pauses occur when the pond scum is waiting for orders.

        • Me says:

Yep, it’s NATO’s fault, I give, you twisted me arm, we inslaved everybody by freeing them. Now I understand. 😆

“Yep, it’s NATO’s fault, I give, you twisted me arm, we inslaved everybody by freeing them. Now I understand. ”

It doesn’t help NATO’s cause to be a lying terrorist organisation. As I demonstrated.

“Freeing” (NATO did not exist at that time) also meant to let Butcher Harris burn all German cities to the ground – the Brits knew full well that all the military production was moved into the woods. German inner cities made for nice firestorms though. Big fun when you can burn women and children for a butcher. We survived because we built bunkers. Lots of them.

All reporting about war crimes of the allies was prohibited at least up to Germany’s reunification by the SHAEF military laws.

For details, see “Der Brand” (The Fire) by Jörg Friedrich.

        • Me says:

Yeah, next time it won’t happen again. Hopely or hopefully.

        • Me says:

And yeah don’t count on it, we’d do it all over again no matter the cost, because freedom isn’t free.

        • DirkH says:

You’re pissed because I’m not enthusiastic about mass murder?

        • DirkH says:

You see – during Hitler’s reign there were resistance movements in Germany who applied for British help, plotting to kill Hitler, Stauffenberg being one of them. They never got any assistance. Why? The Brits thought it would be rather easy to destroy Germany wholesale and that’s what they rooted for. They were not interested in finishing the affair bar total destruction.

          My favorite Churchill quotes:
“Germany is too strong. We must destroy her.”
          – Winston Churchill, Nov. 1936.
“The war was not just a matter of the elimination of Fascism in Germany, but rather of
obtaining German sales markets.” – Winston Churchill. March, 1946.

        • Me says:

Excuse Me, what about Mass murder again? Are you kidding Me!

        • Me says:

Dirk or what ever name you go by over there, you can justify what it’s for and for whatever you want. But in the end we are free and we will fight for it.

And when I say we I mean NATO, that means for you and me.

I am talking about the willfull and entirely avoidable bombardment of civilian population. I am not kidding you. You seem to have no knowledge of WW 2. The book I recommended can help fill that gap.

This is not to defend any action of the Third Reich; far from it. But if the “free” world wants to have the moral high ground, committing avoidable atrocities is not the way to gain it.

        • Me says:

Now go paint your enthusiastic behaviour about mass murder on someone else, because I’m not buying the way you just spun it. Good try though, naybe you should reread the Gems again that was just posted here, and rethink! 😆

Then later it was all bragging about the invconvient truth, so I rented it at the local DVD place, watched it….. Still I don’t know what it was, but it was like Bullshit incarnated but I at the time couldn’t say anything about it, because I still didn’t know enough about what they were saying to argue a ifferent point view. And then there was and then the flood gates opened with Climategate and they still clinged to their bullshit. I don’t know what else to do, except keep it up like they do.

    Second post:

Ok, my Church drinks (we are Catholic – boggles some people’s minds). But that is not what I want to post about. The parish got slammed with Cryptowall Ransomeware Trojan. Shut then down on Thursday (hence my lack of posting in the past couple of days).

I started the cleanup on Friday (they had called me at 5:30pm on Thursday). Fortunately they did have a backup (I set it up – windows backup to a jump drive) for the network But what about “trojan prime”? The source of compromise.

In trying to salvage files from trojan prime, I ran a unerase utility (Recuva) to see if perhaps some files could be recovered from the deleted ones before the encryption. What I found was shadow copy! Something Microsoft introduced with Windows Server 2003, but (unknown to me) had added to Windows desktop since Vista. And I found all the files I needed! But how to restore (without doing a system Restore)?

System Explorer! A freeware utility that allows you to browse the shadow copy and selectively restore what you want.

So some arse bung is chortling for nothing. His evil was thwarted by freeware from the goodguys and a windows feature!

    • Me says:

      You talking about windows recovery?

      • philjourdan says:

No, the ransomeware crap encrypts all your data files (it is careful to leave your programs alone) with an RSA 2048 encryption and then demands $500 (in bitcoins no less) for the key to decrypt them. SOmetimes the key works, sometimes it does not.

Cryptowall is the successor to Cryptodefender. But apparently they have not kept up with Windows yet as they missed the shadow copies (they will probably add those soon).

        • Me says:

OK yeah, that is something new that’s been going on by the scammers to make you pay or they delete everything. I hope they get them arses, I would use other words but I don’t think it would be approps here.

        • philjourdan says:

They do not have to delete. Even the NSA cannot break the 2048 key. But Windows has a way around it. I wonder if Linux and Macs have a similar feature? If not, I suspect it is coming to distro near you soon!

I think Microsoft just won a round with Shadow copy,

        • Me says:

          I didn’t know that! Thanks!!!

        • philjourdan says:

Be glad you “read” about it and did not have to learn it first hand. 😉

        • tom0mason says:

You asked ” I wonder if Linux and Macs have a similar feature? If not, I suspect it is coming to distro near you soon!”
They have but are not needed as badly. That is because, on a ‘normal’ Linux/Mac set-up to run any software outside of the ‘user’ level demands the input of a security password. That is not saying these system cannot be bypassed they can with nasty rootkits, it is just so much more difficult. Also many Linux installations will ask during installation whether the user want his data/partition/disk encrypted ( I encrypt mine) for additional protection.
Another ‘feature’ of Linux installations is that they are similar to each other but not all are the same. Most system are derived from a few base system (Debian, Red Hat, Fedora, Mandriva, etc) then tweeked to for a particular user experience or function (e.g. high security, ease of use, ease of transistion from windows, legacy hardware, scientific/programming tasks, etc.) Even things like the low-level disk formats are often different on different distibutions. This is why there are so many (100s) of differing distributions, and this adds to the complication for infecting Linux systems.
Have a look at http://distrowatch.com/ and on the right hand side there is a listing of the top 100 Linux/BSD distibutions.

Windows has the same features – but they are rarely used (or automatically entered) as the end user sees them as an annoyance.

So right now, the only thing preventing the more widespread use of the shadow copy on Linux and Macs is the fact that either the users are much more sophisticated (in the case of Linux and some Mac) or not sophisticated enough to turn it off (windows is fairly easy and some programs even ask you if you want to do it).

The thing is I always tell people when they get a new system is to first make a recovery disk. One time they used to supply that with the system but not anymore.
And second was to buy a internet security program, and not that free stuff you get online, shareware is basicly scareware.

      • philjourdan says:

Most computers now come with a recovery partition, but a disk is the best way to go as it cannot be compromised.

But remember “The lost Boys”? “Silly Boys! You have no power over a vampire if you invite him in!”.

Malware is the same way. There is not a program out there that can protect your computer from you.

        • Me says:

Yeah, I tell people about that, not specificly that of what you speak, but if you have a excellent internet security porgram that does it for you, before you think about letting them in. But you have to have it setup before you go online, and now you have to be online inorder to set it up, so do that imeadiately and then enjoy. But then again there was that heart bleed, so what can you do.

        • philjourdan says:

Yea, that catch 22 got my Aunt when she was using AOL dialup (they “said” you could not get infected from worms off of dialup – riiiiight!). I had to rebuild her computer and then tried to go online to patch it. It was infected before I could download the first patch (and she was running the Symantec suite).

Post #3. My mother’s family is conservative (although one aunt did vote for Obama the first time).

My biological father’s side however are what you would call solid southern democrats (the ones that enacted Jim Crow, Poll taxes and the Klan). And they are still democrats. About as politically literate as a worn out shoe (I do not preach, but I do correct). Since they were not part of my upbringing (I lost contact when I was 6), they do not know what my persuasion is.

And I keep it that way.

Spain doesn’t do irony, since they see absolutely no irony that they want Gibraltar back yet won’t give Melilla and Ceuta to the Moroccans.

And thousands of Muslims enter Spain and the EU each year by climbing the fences into those enclaves. The Re-Reconquista proceeds.
