US stages fake arrival ceremonies for fallen soldiers

WASHINGTON –  Sen. Claire McCaskill is pressing the Pentagon for answers following reports — and an admission by the U.S. Department of Defense — that it staged “arrival ceremonies” for fallen soldiers.

“This is even more evidence that these recovery efforts are suffering from systematic problems and a lack of coordinated leadership,” McCaskill said in a statement. “Families in this community just want officials to be honest and forthright about the government’s efforts – instead, what they’re often getting is false hope and fake ceremonies.”

Joint Prisoners of War, Missing in Action Accounting Command — a unit in the Defense Department — has been holding arrival ceremonies for seven years, with flag-draped coffins being carried off cargo planes as though they held the remains of American troops that had just been returned, according to an initial investigation by NBC News. However, the remains typically were on site before each ceremony began, at a lab where they were undergoing analysis. The report focused on ceremonies at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii.

Those stupid ceremonies don’t help anyone.  I know this is a foreign concept to our administration, but, just tell the truth.  If a ceremony is needed, then give it to them, after telling the truth.

Truth, it’s really not that hard.

Every thing is a staged event for government.

more like “the right hand doesn’t know what the pecker is doing”

At the risk of setting off flames, here is something uncomfortable.

We all know that our politicians are rotten to the core. On the other hand we still “support the troops” and “thank them for their service” and put yellow ribbon stickers on our cars. Here is the uncomfortable part. Our regular military guys and gals are in roughly the same position as some clerk in the US Patent Office. He is ruled by the politicians and has no more control over things than the clerk does. Our troops are commanded by — and obey! — politicians and Generals who have no moral compunctions and no love of our country. Recent experience (Hurricane Katrina) has shown that our troops (and our police) will disarm and otherwise endanger law abiding American citizens when they are ordered to do so.

    This is important.

If you have a son, a daughter, a nephew in the US military, PLEASE have a talk with them. Remind them that their family is counting on them to support the Constitution. Remind them that their job is to defend the people of the United States. Remind them that you expect them to obey their oath even if it means disobeying illegal orders. I know from personal experience that this is not an easy talk to have, but it is important.

Thanks for the reminder. My youngest son is going in (Navy) this December.

Obeying/disobeying illegal orders is a catch-22. In most cases, you’ll face a court-martial for violating UCMJ and be convicted–even if the order was illegal. I would tend to not counsel you children to disobey orders. Sometimes (though not always), higher command has more information about the situation.

      That should be “your children.”
