What Goes Around Comes Around October 26
Scripture Selection: Psalm 143:11-12; Prov. 26:27; Revelations 20:10
Food for Thought: Prov. 26:27
There are certain laws of God’s creation that cannot be broken. That’s just the way it is. Like the law of gravity. The natural effect of an object thrown up in the air is for it to come down. Another is the law of sowing and reaping. Plant a seed under the right circumstances, and produce a plant of the same type. Similarly, those who scheme and do harm to others will eventually experience their own demise. The old saying, “What goes around comes around” has proven itself true over and over, and will be in motion for eternity.
The enemy will get his one day. Actually, as the Church walks in the authority that God gives her, the devil is already defeated (I Jn 2:13, 14). But there is a more inexorable and final blow awaiting him.
In addition, though we do not war against flesh and blood, the truth of God defending His people and the law of sowing and reaping are in effect. That is why Jesus asks us to pray for our enemies. Otherwise, the consequence of their actions of causing another harm will be severe if they don’t repent, and they will fall into the very pit they dug to trap others.
