According to Haruhiko Kuroda of the Bank of Japan and their PM Shinzo Abe this is really good. What could possibly be wrong with a little inflation to stoke-up the markets?

  2. philjourdan says:

Tie this one in with Yellin – Inflation is soooooooo Gooooooooood! NOT.

  3. leftinbrooklyn says:

But even the name sounds so social… Can I ‘friend’ their inflation?

  4. DirkH says:

They’ve been having inflation rates around 33% for years under Chavez.
Socialism + Oil = Socialism will be maintained until oil is gone.
    Socialism w/o Oil = Collapse.

    Some past events:
    Venezuela devalues by 46 % FEB 13
(official, from 4.3 to 6.3 bolivars per USD. but black market is already at 18.)

zerohedge: “One person who certainly knows how to devalue a currency in real terms FDR, whose 70% devaluation of the USD courtesy of executive order 6102, is merely an appetizer of what is about to be unleashed upon the US.”

Australia has a “suspended” law allowing the commonwealth govt to confiscate Gold.

Yep. That’s the way it rolled. At some point, real economists will look at FDR and his policies and understand how disastrous they were.

      • philjourdan says:

Real economists already do. Indeed, when he started out, Friedman was looking to quantify the “good” that FDR did. However the data did not support his original conclusion, and that is why he basically founded the opposing Monetarist school of Economics.

  5. environmentalist advice for saving toilet paper is: ”to use both sides of the paper”. Imagine if both sides are used, only half the trees would be chopped for toilet paper.

the Red environmentalists have lots of good ideas that are not practical…
