One sensible congressman Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) told a town hall that global warming “is a total fraud” perpetuated by people who “want to create global government to control all of our lives.” Climate change, he said, has nothing to do with the wildfires that are currently ravaging his home state.
And, of course, in the context the alarmist use “climate change”, he’s 100% correct. But, that doesn’t stop HuffPo and their enablers from spewing misinformation about and making illogical connections to climate change.
CREDO Action chronicled Rohrabacher’s tweets, which include claims such as “History is filled with wildfires & droughts. 1930’s was worse drought yrs. blaming this on CO2 is fraudulent” and “statistics indicate these natural maladies R no more frequent than in the distant pass which Exposes GWARMING fraud.”
In response, CREDO launched an online campaign on Thursday calling on Rohrabacher to apologize to Californians who have been affected by the wildfires.
The Rim Fire is now the 6th largest wildfire in state history, and comes as the state is experiencing the driest year on record. Scientists have found that climate change exacerbates the conditions that fuel wildfires.
Ahh, the ubiquitous “Scientists” and then link to a Mother Jones story. But, let’s examine this for a minute. We don’t have data from around the world, but, we do for the US and Canada.
First, let’s look at some reasoning why wild fires may be getting worse without climate change. Oh, could this idiot have anything to do with it?
The Hazardous Fuels Reduction Program was $500 million last year, went down to $419 million this year under the automatic budget cuts, and has been proposed to go to $292 million next year.
Ya think that might have something to do with our wild fires? Or, this? …..
A total of at least 44 planes available 8 years ago. The fleet has been diminishing ever since. Today we’re down to 9.
Is HuffPo and CREDO so stupid as to think weather is the only determining factor for our wild fires? But, are wild fires getting worse? No, they’re not.
Are HuffPo and CREDO so limited in their abilities as they can’t even look up the simplest bit of information?
And, what of the claims about the “driest” evuh!!! Is that related to the alarmists concept of climate change?
Has it gotten warmer in the US and as a result drier? Well, without addressing NOAA’s chicanery with our temps, they think it has gotten warmer.
But, they also insist we’re getting wetter ……..
Which we can all say “duh”! To the lunatics. And what about the thoughts on droughts in the 30s? Are HuffPo and CREDO correct in trying to be derisive to the congressman’s claims?
Clearly, the congressman is correct and HuffPo and CREDO are FOS.
So, unless HuffPo and CREDO are asserting that Global Climate Change is just picking on California, which is an hilarious absurdity, then they are the ones who need to apologize to the congressman.
NOAA is the source of the graphs.
