A Party Of Two!

Well, I guess they wanted their privacy anyway.

Eric Holder invited some media types to an “off the record” meeting to discuss how the Obama administration and the Dept of Justice targets reporters they wish to silence.

Turns out, the media didn’t like the imagery of another “off the record” meeting.  It stunk to high heaven the last time.

Laughably, no media of import accepted this offer.  They want the meeting to be on the record….. presumably so they could do their jobs and report back to the people what our government is up to.

The only one I know who said they would attend is Politico’s editor-in-chief, John Harris.  How much of a boot licker do you have to be to look around and see none of your other colleagues are playing the game and promise to go anyway?  Even HuffPo says they’re not attending.

I’m wondering if it occurs to the media types that the American people scooped them when reporting that, yes, the Obama administration is a bunch of corrupt scumbags?

You can read more on this just about anywhere.  But, you can go here for a quick rundown.

    Theatre.
Remember the JOURNOlist server? That got taken down but there must be replacement. They all continue to get their orders from the WH. Declining to meet with the WH is intended to save their reputation. The modern definition of journalist is spineless government lickspittle. In Germany, it’s spineless EU lickspittle.

I would have thought the only one would have been MSNBC. I guess they just do not have enough ratings to be invited.

“Martin Baron, executive editor of The Washington Post, said, “I prefer that any meeting be on the record. That said, journalists routinely participate in off-the-record sessions, whether they prefer those conditions or not, and then continue to report on events. I am going to this meeting in order to represent our interests as journalists and to raise our concerns. I’ll also listen to what the Attorney General has to say. I trust that our journalists will report on this as vigorously as they would any other subject.””

    OT – But… Sacrebleu!!!

“French President Francois Hollande, who unlike his predecessor enjoys good wine, is selling off a 10th of the Elysee Palace’s cellar to raise funds.

The 1,200 bottles, which range in estimated price from 15 euros to 2,200 euros ($2,900) for a Petrus 1990, will be put up for sale tonight and tomorrow at Hotel de Drouot by auction house Kapandji-Morhange. The estimates of the lots add up to 250,000 euros, or an average of about 208 euros a bottle.”

Obviously the France into which I was born has changed. What will they do next? Win a war? 😆

Oh LOLs!!! The way this has gone down like a lead balloon I have a thought.

Holder is going to have to search the few journos who do turn up for the off-the-record meeting. They’ll all be wearing wires…
