I’ve got to run off for a bit of merriment.  I’ll be back in a while.  If I haven’t provided sufficient posts to converse about today, then feel free to discuss things here.

Here’s one for you all to take a look at. The names (apart from the big ones) mean nothing to me but I’m sure you guys, and James, can work it all out.

I’d like to hear your thoughts.

Another screech for funding – because all you nasty white human done it – to save Australian birds.

”A billion dollars over 50 years for conserving Australia’s birds in the face of climate change is paltry compared to the cost of biodiversity loss,” the report states.

I note that there is no mention of the huge wind-farm bird choppers in this plea.

    They can’t do that!
They want to put a team on the Arctic for a year to prepare them for the environment of Mars.
But, …but the Arctic has melted. We all know that, so how can they…

“The Arctic’s a lot like Mars, according to the Mars Society. It’s cold, it’s isolated, and it’s kind of dangerous. And, the society says, it’s ready to bring humans to the Arctic for a year to make a mission there even more Mars-realistic.”
But it all melted away, the news told me so!

This just hit the wire… An Oregon teenager intended to blow up his school in a plot “forged and inspired by the model of the Columbine shootings.”

He had six bombs. We need more bomb control laws! Nobody need six bombs!!!

What ever happened to parenting? Oh, I forgot, liberals made it it illegal.

  8. HankH says:

Okay, there’s time you just have to recognize raw talent. These two girls, Lennon and Maisy Stella started recording videos in their bedrooms and uploaded them to Youtube. They got discovered. Following, they were invited to sing at the Grand Ole Opry and appear on a television series. Something more important than the liberal stupidity that blankets the airwaves…

    then the television version…

Here’s Laura Marling (“Don’t Ask Me Why “) in return…

    • gator69 says:

Thanks for the video Hank! I have an associates degree in vocal music performance, and I truly appreciate what it takes to make great live music. They are a special pair indeed.

      • HankH says:

I’m a musician myself (fretless electric bass). In my teens and early 20’s I played in a fusion jazz band. I noticed that there were musicians more talented than me who were starving so I nixed the idea of living off of music and got my first degree in RF Engineering then later mathematics. My daughter was the youngest voice in the Nevada Opera – started at the age of 15. My wife plays guitar. We have evenings that the family plays and sings together – good family time.

Yes, Lennon and Maisy have a special talent. No albums as of yet but they’re new so it will take a little while.

        • kim2ooo says:

Mr. Hank have you heard this band/?

        • HankH says:

Never heard of them before. They have a very unique sound.

I never realized that Roland made an electric accordion. I could have sworn I heard a Hammond B3 towards the middle of the song. I wonder if it was the accordion?

        • kim2ooo says:

Dono… but I really like them.

        • HankH says:

I get the impression they’re Irish. Do you know?

        • kim2ooo says:

          Yes, they are Irish.

I have a Dvd/Cd of theirs on right now.

        • gator69 says:

Hey Kim! I have Mumford on my DVR, they are awesome. I have become one of my favorite music teachers, in that I can really only listen to live performances anymore, all the rest seems stale by comparison.

And congratulations to your daughter and you Hank! I, like you, saw many more talented folks waiting tables and got a degree in something that has nothing to do with my career. Funny world, just glad God gave us great musicians, because I am not one.

I have a favorite show these days called “Live from Daryl’s”. It is Daryl Hall and his band playing live with various guest artists. I catch it on Palladia, but it started on the interwebs. 😉

          Here is his website…

        • kim2ooo says:

Mr Gator, I would love to see them in concert.

Was that Hall boy part of Hall and Oats?

          Thanks for the link.

        • HankH says:

I need to check if they have their albums on iTunes. I like their style.

        • gator69 says:

Hey Kim! You are among peers, no need to call me Mr.

Yes that is of course the same Daryl Hall of the dynamic eighties duo. Funny, at the time I paid them little attention. Only decades later after hearing Daryl play live, have I started to really appreciate his song writing as well as his other great talents.

Hope the link brings you as much joy as it has me.

          All the best!

A British Sunday paper publishes (and on-line) a rebuke to the UK government’s green agenda, by Professor Myles Allen no less.
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2331057/Why-I-think-wasting-billions-global-warming-British-climate-scientist.html

Hopefully some (preferably all) of the message gets through to the readers and the UK government. The myth must surely start to crack soon now?

    • DirkH says:

      Do they draw straws?

    • tckev says:

The religion on peace is up your butt?
In the original piece from which this comes has some chilling warning lines –
“From here one may understand the many ostensible incongruities of Islamic history: lying is forbidden—but permissible to empower Islam; intentionally killing women and children is forbidden—but permissible when performed during holy war, or jihad; suicide is forbidden—but also permissible during jihad, only then called “martyrdom.”

Indeed, the Five Pillars of Islam—including prayer and fasting—may be ignored during the jihad. So important is the duty of jihad that the Ottoman sultans—who often spent half their lives on the battlefield—were not permitted to perform the obligatory pilgrimage to Mecca.

More recently, these ideas appeared in a different form during Egypt’s elections, when Islamic leaders portrayed voting as a form of jihad and justified anything—including cheating, which was deemed “obligatory”—to empower Islam.

According to these two doctrines—which culminate in empowering Islam, no matter how—one may expect anything from would-be jihadis, regardless of how dubious the effort might seem to us.

Ironically, this mentality, prevalent throughout the Islamic world, is the same mentality that many Western leaders and politicians think can be appeased with just a bit more respect, well-wishing, and concessions from the West.”

      The religion of peace, indeed.

Can anyone provide me the difference between a Muslim and a Muslim “Radical”?

The way I see it… if a Muslim doesn’t openly speak-out against these RADICALS… then that Muslim is a RADICAL.

        • tckev says:

Are you hair-splitting perhaps? I sure there are some non-radicals but are they of the true Muslim faith? As far as I understand it an eye-for-an-eye and violence against the non-believer is written into the basic articles of their faith.

        • kim2ooo says:

but are they of the true Muslim faith?

          Exactly!

And that is my target group for my statement.

    • HankH says:

Those people are sick, sick, sick. But we already knew that. They’re just taking it to a new level of sick.

    ============
that’s an easy one……..there’s no such thing as long as they vote democrat

Can you imagine what the story would be if Mexicans, Negros, and Muslims were republicans?

…If Jews voted republican, Hezbollah would be the heaviest armed military in the world……..

    • kim2ooo says:

I dono if I can agree.

      I don’t see it as a Right – Left – Democrat – Republican issue.

      It’s a Right or Wrong.
      It’s Civilized or Uncivilized.

When Muslims don’t speak-up they embrace RADICALS.
