    Bwaaaahahahaha! ya got that right!

  2. Me says:

Somewhere out there I remember a report of him saying he didn’t know what he was doing to be mayor, and yet he is still mayor! 😆

  3. Me says:

Here is an Idea, drug test all the politicians, it seems they demand that for the military, then what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

  4. PhilJourdan says:

From the looks of it, he eats it.

  5. tckev says:

By the look of his healthy? physique crack smoking could seriously damage his overworked heart muscles.

  6. Jim Masterson says:

I see a link that discusses Marion Barry. I liked his comment when arrested: “There are real truths and made-up truths.” That about sums up the whole liberal outlook on everything–including climate science.

@James: It may very well be true that Ford does crack, but what you may not know is that Ford is a fiscal conservative who has been a target of the left-wing media since day one. He ran on a platform of cutting wasteful spending by Toronto city council, which had been a major problem under previous mayor David Miller. The left-wing Toronto Star first carried the story about Ford being caught on video smoking crack, which is odd considering they endorsed Ford’s opponent in the mayoral election (George Smitherman) who is a former cocaine addict). The media treatment of Ford has been nothing short of harassment. He was once followed and photographed going into a KFC for lunch. They might as well have had a headline that read, “Fatty Ford Caught Eating at Dirty Bird”.

That’s very interesting. It was late and I should have added disclaimers that I don’t know one way or the other. But, when a politician has to have a press conference to deny use and then takes no questions. ….. he’s done.

      • LLAP says:

“when a politician has to have a press conference to deny use and then takes no questions. ….. he’s done.”

I would tend to agree with that. In Ford’s case, he was done from day one. The attitude of the left (in the media and on Toronto city council) has always been that he is “not one of us”, much like the way Obama portrayed Romney in the 2012 campaign. The elitism and snobbery of the chattering class champagne socialists has been vicious towards Ford. Granted, Ford can be his own worst enemy, but the left has been after him in any way they can since he became mayor, like a pack of bloodthirsty lions tracking down a wildebeest. Sickening, to say the least.

I truly wish that sometimes our conservative pollys would seek outside advice as to how to handle the press and issues like this. The play book on this is fairly easy one way or the other. Obviously if he didn’t smoke crack, then all he has to do is go on offense. Pubically challenge the press and their integrity, but play the victim at the same time. The public roots for the underdog. If he has smoked crack and they have it on tape, then depending on how long a term he has left, he needs to be contrite, but makes excuses, take a page from the left, utter rhetoric like “seeing it through”, “I’m no quitter”, …. etc. And still play the victim. He’d probably be done as mayor, but, he could rehabilitate his image. Of course, he’d probably have to change politics. Conservatives don’t tolerate that stuff near as much as the left does. Mark Sanford in the US would be the exception, but, that’s only because he ran against Colbert’s sister, and they were able to paint her as a radical leftist. If the Dems had run a moderate, they would have won in a landslide.

It is too late for that. The press has successfully painted Ford as a moron and a buffoon, much like they did with Bush Jr., and the public has bought it. No matter what Ford says now, he is finished.

    • Me says:

That is the problem with them, when they can be taken advantage of because ot their ethics and morals of what the left and the right in society decides and believes, suddenly if they don’t play the game then they are targets. Who loses? Everybody.

Everything LLAP said is the truth, he is a great mayor and the loony left can’t believe the voters had the audacity to elect him. They have thrown every disgusting dirty trick in the book to unseat him. I could be wrong but I doubt he’s done crack. PS he was the couch of an all black football team(from the bad side of town) that’s why you will see him surrounded by big tough looking black guys (who he has steered away from gangster/gang life style). You guessed it I am a fan of his, warts and all!
PPS – LLAP will vouch for this, Toronto is a socialist latte sipping paradise, it’s the suburbs that elected him.
    Good luck Mayor Ford.

    • Me says:

It makes you wonder but that doesn’t exonerate him, like I said before, drug test them all, if they can’t afford a soldier being in charge of million dollar equipment to do the right thing, then why should we expect less from our fearless leaders that send them in or make decissions on what is right and wrong in the first place.

    • LLAP says:

“LLAP will vouch for this, Toronto is a socialist latte sipping paradise, it’s the suburbs that elected him.”

Spot on DaveG! Ford has his flaws, but the fact that he gets the left into such a frenzy is why I like him.

      • Me says:

Exactly, but it still doesn’t exonerate him. And the next electorate, not only should bet be demanded the same scrutinity that was demanded of Mr. Ford, Same rules for all!

        • Me says:

          But be demanded

        • LLAP says:

“but it still doesn’t exonerate him.”

Agreed. I would also add that if it turns out to be true that he did smoke crack, that he should resign, especially when you consider he has publicly denied it.

    Me says:
Drug test them all – I agree.

    • Me says:

Yep, it’ll solve all lot of the problems but not all of them.

    • LLAP says:

“Drug test them all – I agree.”

I agree too. If anything, it is one small way of reminding politicians that their true title is “public servant”, and that they are employed by us working stiffs. Too many of them have it the other way around these days – treating us as their servants.
