Stop the Madness! February 27
Scripture Selection: Psalm 58:6, 11; Proverbs 27:3; I Peter 5:7-11
Food for Thought: I Pet. 5:7, 10
Have you ever witnessed someone’s foolish anger? It’s quite common in the world; the enemy has his influence on anyone who chooses to walk in the flesh. You can see it manifested as road-rage on the highways, in bureaucratic offices, at the grocery store, on the job, and even in family relationships. Just remember, it’s not the human being causing the problems, but the enemy and his demons behind it all. (“For we do not war against flesh and blood…”)
What a relief to know that the enemy’s teeth have been broken and that we do not have to fall into the foolishness too, though it sure is tempting at times. God has a better way; just rely on Him to be your Defense and cast every care on Him. Let Him handle the weight of the attack (which He really has already done when He went to the cross, then hell, and then was resurrected) and allow Him to strengthen you. Don’t join the madness and get into the flesh too.
Resist the devil with your faith and the Word, and rejoice in the reward for the righteous.

I’d add ‘steroid anger’ as a reflection of some people’s chasing of the world. Paul said:
I think this is a great gift from God that we should ask for. Better than taking steroids for great pecs and flying into destructive rages, or binging alcohol and getting into fights outside the pub at 3am in the morning.
I should add I am not a teetotaller, but then neither was Christ as far as we know.
It’s a fantastic gift! I can’t say I’m quite where Paul was, but, even in want I can be content.
