Wondering What These People Thought About Fracking

As most of us know, the much of the world is getting hammered by some very cold weather, as shown at RealScience.

Some may not realize that this has been persistent in the eastern part of Europe.  The ideology of the LSM doesn’t allow for this to be reported in the US.  They only report on heat waves.  The cold has been so persistent and so cold that there is a huge death toll, and it’s rising.

NoTricksZone has a post up…..

Cold Blast Claims Over 600 Lives Across Eastern Europe/Russia…”Death Toll Keeps Rising…State Of Emergency”

They quote another story……

In the Ukraine, more than 150 deaths have been registered. Sixty-eight people have reportedly died in Poland from the cold, 64 in Russia and an estimated 70 in Belarus. In Romania, the official death toll has risen to 68. In Lithuania, 23 deaths have been reported, 24 in the Czech Republic and 10 in Latvia. At least 16 people have died so far due to the cold in Bulgaria, 13 in Hungary, and a total of 50 in the successor states of Yugoslavia.

Italy has also been severely affected by the cold, with 40 registered victims.”

Freezing to death, by the hundreds.  The left blathers endlessly about our fuel use.  About how it’s bad for our climate.  About how we should all sacrifice a bit for the good of humanity.  People, such as myself and the frequent readers here, argue that our fuels and energy are the basis of a good economy.  We also state the expense and inefficiencies of alternative energy and fuel sources impoverish people.  We argue fuels and energy should be cheap, available, and reliable.

One technique employed by gas and oil people, commonly known as fracking, to get at the fuels that would otherwise be unattainable, has recently been opposed by the lunatic left.  And, in some places, their opposition has been successful in getting the technique prohibited.

To be sure, we’ll never eliminate the conditions which claim people’s lives during extreme cold spells. But, we certainly could improve the conditions the people are in to lessen the impacts of the events, and lessen the death toll. The deaths are the end results of the lunatics advocacy.

And so I wonder, as I often do when we hear of such horrors, what would the poor souls who died in the cold advocate?  Would they have wished for a job that would have provided them a warm home?  Would they have wished for cheap, reliable, and available fuel and energy to warm themselves?  I think we all know the answer to this.

The climate is mocking the AGW people, and their persistence in the face of overwhelming evidence, is verging on “crimes against humanity”.

That’s been my position for quite some time now. These deaths are, in part, the results of their advocacy. They’ve stripped people of their property, in some cases, literally burned them out of their homes, they’ve funded forced sterilizations, impoverished entire communities……. the list goes on and on……

They would have wanted the Chicken Little Brigade to get their collective heads out of their asses and done something to create jobs for everyone, rather than claim the world will end if the poor get ahead in this world.

  3. Hmmm, lots of blue.

    Some say the world will end in fire;
    Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
    Is also great
    And would suffice.

Good Mayan Frosty poetry for the day the world ended.

As you mention fracking… The German anti nuclear protest faction is currently hammered into shape into an anti fracking movement, as nuclear is dead now, and the puppetmasters would like to use their zombies for other crusades. The flyers are still financed by the same money, mostly wind and solar lobby organisations behind it (and behind wind of course rich land owners, in Germany these are the aristocrats).

So, they are trying to “educate” the public about the evils of fracking. Fun thing is, in Lower Saxony there’s been fracking for 50 years as we used to have some oil, and fracking is an old technique.

Not to worry, we are told that renewable energy sources will save the day…
But not cheaply for wind farms if Renewable Energy Foundation’s study is correct. Apparently a maximum of 15 year life is about normal for them, not the 20-25 year expectation. This ensures that they are not viable as a cheap energy source.

Not nice to see so much tax is wasted on these bird killers while we freeze.

    • suyts says:

Exactly there is no viable alternative fuel or energy source. And, while the lunatics deny reality, people die.

    • DirkH says:

It is very likely correct. I’ve seen many turbine defects in the wind parks around my hometown and estimated a breakdown rate of up to 10 % a year myself – often they stand still through the winter until they can get fixed when the weather gets better in spring.

Also, very often “repowering” takes place where generator and propeller are replaced with bigger better ones; foundations and tower are re-used. So many don’t even see half of their projected lifetime of 20 years. This hides the annoying fact of fast deterioration.
