Jr. To Quit 2 Weeks After Being Re-Elected

I meant to write about this a couple of weeks ago.  Not his resignation.  That was going to happen one way or the other.

But, what I was going to write about is the re-election of this nutty criminal.

“The constituents of the second district deserve a full-time legislator in Washington, something I cannot be for the foreseeable future,” Jackson also said in his resignation letter. “My health issues and treatment regimen have become incompatible with service in the House of Representatives. Therefore, it is with great regret that I hereby resign … effective today  in order to focus on restoring my health.”

I would say they also deserve an honest and sane legislator, but, maybe not.

Jackson, the son of civil rights leader Jesse Jackson, was easily re-elected earlier this month despite not having appeared in public since this summer. He had several visits in recent months to the Mayo Clinic for treatment.

The federal investigation is purportedly focusing on whether Jackson misused campaign money.

In addition, the House Ethics Committee has been looking into whether Jackson was involved in discussions about raising money for imprisoned former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s campaign in exchange for an appointment to President Obama’s vacated Senate seat.

Jackson’s resignation would effectively end the House probe, though members will issue a final report.

His resignation is part of the deal that will keep him out of prison.  His “health” issues are supposedly for treating a bi-polar disorder.  Though I would say it’s more likely depression from knowing he was going to lose his seat in the House, and face a possible prison term.

None of this really matters to me.  That politicians are corrupt isn’t anything new.  That some of them have mental disorders isn’t a surprise either.

What is galling is his re-election and the support Jackson received from the Democrat party.  Sure, he hasn’t been convicted, yet.  But, this is a man absent from his job for months in a row.  This is a man by all indications got caught with misuse of funds.  Does this matter to Dems?  Of course, not.  They’d elect Atilla the Hun if he promised to vote with the Dems.  And, this is why I’ll never vote for a Dem.  Integrity means nothing to them.  The weight of the office means nothing to them.  They consider it license when elected as opposed to responsibility.  Their corruption is eating the soul of this nation.

Yes and I observed that during a conversation I had last night with a self proclaimed “Conservative Democrat”. Two things happened during the conversation. I refrained from laughing in her face when she made some of her statements and I will not be having any meals with that lady again.

    • suyts says:

Lol, yes, when you hear or see those two words together, it’s difficult not to laugh. I tried to post this yesterday, but, my internet died.

Actually, I do know a few conservative Democrats. Even fewer are office holders, but they do exist. There are maybe 10 of them in the nation 😉 . My biggest problem with Democrats, even if they live a life and espouse a philosophy similar to mine, is that they revere government more than it healthy for the rest of us.

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING! 🙂

    OPEN to everyone here….
Your mission: If you decide to accept it:

    Your points on these:

    • miked1947 says:

      ROFLMAO! Kim You got it.

    • suyts says:

Good heavens! Those people really believe that tripe!

    • miked1947 says:

      Kim:
That is a tough one, partial truths just like those used by the Chicken Little Brigade. Some are even flat out lies that have been passed from one misguided fool to another until they are so outrageous a rational person just shakes their head and walks away.
That list of five talking points has got to that stage. If I were in the same room as the speaker, they would be talking to themselves after the second claim. It is safer that way.

    • gator69 says:

      1. “The deficit President Obama inherited was over $1 trillion—entirely the result of President Bush’s policies”

False. Congress controls spending, and it was a Democrat controlled congress.

      2. ” ..the “sole bright spot of the world.”

Self referenced memo, weakly linked to some Brooking’s Institute pablum. And being the best loser in a filed of nothing but losers is not something of which we should be very proud.

      3. “Yes, most counties where food-stamp consumption is growing vote Republican.”

Is anyone surprised that when democrats are in control, republicans suffer?

4.”Ronald Reagan signed the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act, which mandates that no emergency room may turn a patient away because he or she cannot pay.”

      That’s called “compassion”, not “socialism”.

      5. “America creates more jobs when a Democrat is in the White House.”

Anyone who understands logic knows that correlation does not equal causation. There is also this thing called an “economic cycle”, and there is this other thingy called “congress”.

Happy Thanksgiving kim, and don’t forget the Tums.

I’d have a response, but my internet connection is crap. I’m trying to upload a post, but it isn’t happening.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
And get well soon to Jr.
And big thanks to James for blog.

Kim the first one is easy. The author is simply lying. Here’s the breakdown in the deficit “reduction” the idiots are claiming. They’re saying FY2009 is Bush’s spending. This is a demonstrable lie. https://suyts.wordpress.com/2012/05/24/more-absurdities-from-the-left/
A better graphical representation is here….. Any claims to deficit reduction is simply absurdity using statistical acrobatics and wordsmithing. Further, all of the deficit reduction is forecast. This year, we saw our deficit actually increase over what was projected……. again.

  6. suyts says:

The second point, the one asserting our recovery is the “sole bright” spot of the world is another fascinating absurdity. It is true, our GDP growth is better than the Eurozone’s and Japan’s. That’s about it.
China, India, Brazil, Australia, Canada and many other nations have all outperformed the US’ economy in the last 4 years.

Good heavens my internet is horrible!

    • kim2ooo says:

Ooooooooooo good one! “China, India, Brazil, Australia, Canada and many other nations have all outperformed the US’ economy in the last 4 years.”

That’s why Mr Gator said being first in a field of losers?

  7. miked1947 says:

    Kim:
Facts only matter to those that believe if truth and fairness.
I was in court the other day because someone filed a petition against me. I went with actual proof the claims were false. The judge was not interested in seeing the proof, even though he had said if he was given proof one party was lying they would be held and charged with felony perjury.
His final judgement without looking at evidence was the situation was a mutual misunderstanding and neither party could seek damages against the other. I am out over 7k because the judge refused to even look at the receipts and other evidence I was prepared to give.
I was actually accused of attempting to BULLY the other party.

    • miked1947 says:

The situation was referred to the police for investigation of fraud on the part of the other party. The police accepted my evidence and said that was sufficient to advance the case.

    • kim2ooo says:

I thought Judges had to look at all evidence? 😦

      • miked1947 says:

It was supposedly a civil matter as she was asking for an order of protection against me.
The judge decided on a mutual restraining order that neither could press for a civil suit against the other. The judge was only interested in verbal responses and he ruled it a “He said She said” situation and did not want to pursue perjury charges against a 65 YO woman.
