Alarmists Reduced To Incoherent Babbling — Hit’s On All Memes

Good heavens, we’ve made the lunatics go even more insane.  A fellow named Arnaud De Borchgrave, has written a rambling piece in NewsMax, no less.

Time to Face Global Warming Time Bomb

The piece is a strange conflation of issues which really have no relation, other than the nutters don’t like them.

The term Hebephrenic schizophrenia comes to mind.  Don’t believe me?

  • Active behavior, but in an aimless and not constructive way
  • Bizarre and inappropriate emotional responses
  • Difficulty feeling pleasure
  • False, fixed beliefs (delusions)
  • Lack of motivation
  • Seeing or hearing things that aren’t there (hallucinations)
  • Strange or silly behavior
  • Speech that makes no sense (word salad)

Some of these symptoms are also seen in other types of schizophrenia. The main difference is that in disorganized schizophrenia, there is a lot of strange, aimless behavior and often speech that does not make sense.

Let’s see if we can’t pick out some of these symptoms in this article.

As the title would indicate, the article would be about global warming….. right?

It starts by stating….

Polish-born nuclear physicist Marcin Jakubowski and his small band of acolytes are holed up in rural Missouri working on a “civilization starter kit.”

Now, sure, there are some nutters out there believing thermal Apocalypse  is just around the corner, but that’s only the most extreme of extremists.  Then he quotes another piece to buttress his……

“If Hurricane Sandy doesn’t persuade Americans to get serious about climate change, nothing will,” says cover story writer by Paul Barrett.

Apparently, the obliviot is unaware that any serious scientist has discounted in “global warming” connection to Sandy.  But, it’s a popular alarmist meme when an occasional storm wanders up the east coast.  He continues…..

Hopefully, a study commissioned by the U.S. intelligence community will convince conservatives that global warming isn’t liberal disinformation.

Oops, more oblivious delusions.  To check how serious we should take the intelligence community’s studies, go here, and read about the global cooling consensus, written by our CIA.    Then our new friend completely falls off the rails.

Some scientists argue it’s an accumulation of man-made contributions in two world wars, including atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, followed by the Cold War and hundreds of nuclear tests, as well as two major wars in Korea and Vietnam.

Uhmm, I’ve never heard that argument. He goes on to quantify the amount of nuclear tests some countries have conducted.  Interesting.  I’d have to check the IR spectrum of nuclear blasts.  I doubt most of it is in the CO2 absorption bands.  Later he states…..

There have been 20 major mishaps that could have started an accidental nuclear war.

Well, yes, there have been ……..  wait!  I thought we were talking about global warming?  Is he suggesting global warming caused the mishaps?  He continues his babbling…..

New generations have long since forgotten, assuming they ever knew, about the magnitude of devastation in World War II — e.g., 12,000 heavy bombers shot down and over 100,000 bomber crewmen killed in action. About 40,000 men served in German U-boats in World War II. 30,000 never returned to base.

Yes, war is a terrible thing.  I seriously doubt the poor German’s in the U-boats had anything to do with the imaginary global warming.  He essentially finishes his babbling with this…..

When this reporter was born there were 2 billion people in the world and only 32 million cars in use. Today, those same figures are 7 billion people and more than 1 billion automobiles.
More than half of today’s 7 billion humans are under 25. And about 2.5 billion are on the Internet.
On CBS’ “60 Minutes,” historian David McCullough said last week, “we’re training young people who are, by and large, historically illiterate.” Of those who enter ninth grade, one survey indicates, only 37 percent are ready for college. In New York, that same figure drops to 1 in 5.

Yes, we have more people on the earth now.  This has been going on for quite some time.  As to the historically illiterate, I agree.  But, that’s why this issue was able to gain traction.  If our children actually studied history, they would know the earth’s climate is in a constant state of flux.  They would be familiar with things such as the LIA and MWP, RWP and the like.  They would understand what the Dark Ages were about.  They would laugh at the thought of selling indulgences.  In other words, if our children were actually educated, none of this would be an issue.

Mr. De Borchgrave, seek help, or start taking your meds again.

    He’s not just some fellow….
“Noted editor and journalist Arnaud de Borchgrave is an editor at large for United Press International. He is a founding board member of who now serves on Newsmax’s Advisory Board.”
…which explains why they published it.

I checked a different article from him, about Pakistan, makes slightly more sense, but suffers from jumping around as well. Looks like he’s just a very old journalist who turned into a rambling old man…

I thought everyone was working on their Civilization starter kit?

They’re running out of bad things to blame on CO2 in the future.
Time blame it on every bad thing in the past.

What a shame, apparently Arnaud De Borchgrave is a WWII vet, having served in the British Royal Navy from 1942 to 1946. According to Wiki he falsified his age (15 years old) after running away from home, and renounced his birthright, a title of nobility.

Thankyou for your service Mr De Borchgrave.
