Really, Charles?

I got this from Steve’s.  I’m a bit shocked.   A bit bothered.

Outspoken: Prince Charles speaks to Islamic studies scholars at Oxford University

‘Follow the Islamic way to save the world,’ Prince Charles urges environmentalists

His speech, merging religion with his other favourite subject, the environment, marked the 25th anniversary of the organisation, of which he is patron.

He added: ‘The inconvenient truth is that we share this planet with the rest of creation for a very good reason – and that is, we cannot exist on our own without the intricately balanced web of life around us.

Look, he’s a nutter, there’s no denying this.  This isn’t a slam against our friends in the UK nor even the crown of of the UK.  I’ve always wished them well.  And will continue to do so.  But, this person……..

This is beyond redemption.

If this is what it takes to save the world, I’ll pass.

  1. We do our best to ignore him, but he just won’t go away. Charlie boy is a bit of a joke over here, but no-one’s laughing. He said something quite sensible once, but it came as such a shock, several million of my brain cells contracted sudden death syndrome, and I’ve forgotten what it was.

This is what you get from someone whose only job is waiting for his mother to die….

  2. Bruce says:

Green is Charles’ favourite colour, and green is the colour of Islam. So Islam must be environmentally wonderful. See, it makes sense!

His dad (“I would like to return as a deadly virus”) is in his nineties and is still going strong. So look forward to more than a few entertaining headlines after his mum relinquishes the throne.

I have no problem with the tradition. I can appreciate loyalties. But, his babbling can’t go without commentary. And, it should be rebuked.

      • ThePhDScientist says:

For someone claiming to have Muslim friends and be so “worldly”. I’m really shocked at this blog post. Why don’t you show it to some of your Muslim friends and see what they think of it.

This is the kind of thing I would expect from some Southern hillbilly who never left his small town in Kentucky and his only experience with Muslims is what he sees on the 24/7 U.S. news cycle – coming from you it’s rather appalling. Yet, perhaps not surprising…

      • suyts says:

They are appalled that some extremists seek to be representative of their faith. I don’t disagree.

I could have used images from Libya, Iran, Israel, or any other place. I chose to use the same picture as Steve did because of the originator of the quote. Would Lockerbie be more to your liking?

My point of the post wasn’t so much commentary about Islamist more than it was about the insensitivity and stupidity of Charles.

Believe it or not, Ph, even hillbillys in Kentucky are effected by these extremists. Making the case that the Muslim way is somehow better environmentally is most irrational, much like your commentary to this post.

        • ThePhDScientist says:

Suyts be honest about what your post said… What you did was to insinuate that the “Muslim way” is terrorism and blown up buses.

You can say my commentary is irrational, but it’s your post that’s showing your true, narrow-minded, conservative hysteria regarding Muslims.

        • suyts says:

If that were the case I would have simply used a picture of the Twin Towers. You’re missing the context. Charles is a prince in the UK, I used a picture from the UK.

I have stated many times in the past that not all Muslims are extremists.

        • ThePhDScientist says:

And yet you have picture of blown up bus with the sentence “If this is what it takes to save the world, I’ll pass. ”

Out of one side of your mouth you state that you say “I have stated many times in the past that not all Muslims are extremists” so that apparently makes it ok that in today’s post you insinuate that anyone suggesting we could learn something from Islam is promoting terrorism.

Did you ever stop and think the Koran actually does teach a deep respect for nature and that’s what Charles was referring to? Remember he was speaking at Oxford, people with a capacity to understand the principles. It wasn’t a crazy crowd of conservative zealots.

        • suyts says:

So, we should ignore those events and pretend they didn’t happen and never mention the pretext for such events. Okay. Again, if that’s what it takes to save the world, I’ll pass.

        • ThePhDScientist says:

What are you talking about? Are you so blinded by your hatred you failed to see Charles message? It was not an overwhelming embrace of everything Islam. He made a reference that Islam teaches respect for nature and that we could learn something from that. Let’s look at what he actually said.

The inconvenient truth is that we share this planet with the rest of creation for a very good reason – and that is, we cannot exist on our own without the intricately balanced web of life around us. Islam has always taught this and to ignore that lesson is to default on our contract with creation.

Oh my wow, how dare he. That was unconscionable! Quick channel Fox News and que the faux conservative rage!

Sorry my friend – on this post you’re sounding like a whacked out, conservative zealot!

        • suyts says:

          “What are you talking about?”

I’m talking about your objection to the use of the picture. You seem to think this demonstrates my hatred of something. And it’s true. I hate acts of terrorism. I particularly hate acts of terrorism in the name of any religion.

Why did Charles single out this particular faith? Is he stating that it is superior than the others in regards to our care for the planet? And why are you attacking the messenger?

  3. DirkH says:

Charles is the UK’s eternal Biden.
But, isn’t there a strong pro-Arabic antisemitic tradition in the UK stemming from imperial days? It’s still defining the BBC; in practically all regards they are like twins of the German public media but with regard to Israel they run much more sinister antisemitic narratives. And Al Jazeera is a spawn of the BBC. Even before I noticed the BBC reporting lies about warmism I stopped trusting their Middle East reporting.

But… I remember… that also happened at a certain time. I know the Beeb stopped mentioning counteropinions regarding Global Warming somewhere around 2005; whatever the moment was when the journos got re-educated by futerra and Richard Black to “report Globaö Warming” as fact.

There was, some years earlier, a point where suddenly their coverage of Middle East topics tipped over into an abbyss of propaganda lies. The futerra moment of Middle East reporting…

Slightly OT – “The Project” is a two part documentary that explains what we are seeing around the world and right at home. It is straight from the horses mouth and details the plans for their caliphate. Anyone who ignores this warning does so at their own peril.

  6. ThePhDScientist says:

Wait is your conservative Republican insinuation that those following Islam are all terrorists and you believe Charles was telling us all to follow those ways? Is that what the picture of the bus on the bottom was intended to imply?

    You really are foolish zealot!

    • gator69 says:

Wow! I wonder if PhD Cheerleader will even recognize his own projection in the smear? 😉

      • ThePhDScientist says:

I believe you said So, Islam is an apocalyptic religion that waits for the end of the world and judgment day , and I’m telling you Christians are no different.

What Charles was referring to and what the insane, hysterical, conservative bloggers here at Suyts Space forgot to mention is that in fact Islam does teach a deep appreciation for nature and respecting the earth…

        • gator69 says:

What does that have to do with your cheerleading zealotry? You gleefully espouse the religion of AGW with nothing but faith in models, so how are you not a religious zealot? Funny that a PhD would not understand Occam’s Razor, or the Scientific Method.

          How’s that nephew doing?

        • ThePhDScientist says:

Haha Gator you’re a fool. Science does not require faith as there are no absolutes. Hypotheses are tested, theories are revised and in the end science always get it’s right. But what of these conspiracy theorists? What of these crackpots who claim their data is suppressed. They really have it right, but they just aren’t heard. They don’t get any respect. How do they fare in history? Cold fusion? HIV doesn’t cause AIDS?

        • gator69 says:

          “HaHa Gator”?

How old are you cheerleader? Can you show me on one hand?

The fact that you are so convinced of AGW shows how very little you know. I actually spent money, went to a major university, sat in class, studied and did verywell in my climatology classes. That was after years of studying Geology, in which I excelled, because I love hard science and never cease to be amazed at what this planet has been through.

You on the other hand “believe” all of this is new, and that man must be to blame. So narrow minded…

          How’s that nephew? 😉

        • DirkH says:

Charles wasn’t talking about Christians either. Why do you keep talking about Christians?

So, what you’re saying is that we should drill for shale gas like the Muslims drill for Oil?

          I’m ok with that.

        • ThePhDScientist says:

Try participating in science gator instead of blogging. It would do you worlds of good to actually understand how the scientific process works. We all sat through science courses as undergraduates – in fact those course have precious little to teach about research and real science. One cannot sit through Chem 101 as a freshman and college and now claim to be a scientist or to even have a deep knowledge of science.

When you going to start believing in evolution Gator? 😉

“Try participating in science gator instead of blogging. It would do you worlds of good to actually understand how the scientific process works.”

Let me guess, in your case: find the right algorithm that leads from the data you have to the preconceived notion you need to prove.

We have seen that already, thanks, with Michael Mann, James Hansen and Lewandowsky.

        • gator69 says:

“When you going to start believing in evolution Gator?”

Cheerleader, why all the strawman arguments? I have no major issues with evolution, it is probably very close to the mark.

Why are you a Natural Variability denier?

Why do you deny the Scientific Method?

Why do you reject Occam’s Razor?

Cheerleader, I have six acres of my land that demands immediate attention, and I am only half way there. You are a waste of time until you stop denying science and nature.

What is it about leftists that makes them project so much? Why the constant duplicity?

          How’s your nephew, Obama Cheerleader?

          Ha ha ha ha……….
Tell that to the post-normal practitioners of science making up the AGW -CAGW team.

You embrace the role of Natural Variation in the role of evolution – deny it in the climate sciences.

        • ThePhDScientist says:

There’s that post-normal term again. LOL

They appreciate petroleum much more than we do. No Greens down there.

“Science does not require faith as there are no absolutes. Hypotheses are tested, theories are revised and in the end science always get it’s right. ”

Not bad, PhdScientist, not that bad for an unpaid Obama campaign intern. You gotta work on that “and in the end science always get it’s right. “. No scientist would ever say that. I don’t tell you what they say; you gotta find and ask one yourself.

    • DirkH says:

Tell us more about the Islamic Way To Save The World, The PhdScientist.

Mohammed predicted that in 100 years (from when he made that prophecy) everybody would be dead, that the Earth would cease to exist in about 600 years, and that 7 months after the fall of Constantinople (which happened in 1453) the antichrist would appear.

So, Islam is an apocalyptic religion that waits for the end of the world and judgment day. All that they do is save their souls from eternal damnation; that’s what Islam is about… so that’s what Charles wants people to do…
