Ever wonder why it’s so easy to move from a climate discussion to economics to politics? We can because it’s the same scientifically and economically illiterate which creates the politically dysfunctional group we call Democrats.
From hippies to OWS loons to climate goons, its all the same mass of stupidity. We can all recall the Penn and Teller petition to ban Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO) To the Dims reading and not wishing to be left in the dark, that’s H2O .
sigh, that’s water!!! Don’t even try to pretend…….
at any rate, that was just bunch of hippies. What about educated people who genuinely are concerned and informed about our climate issues…….. well CFACT went to COP 16 and did exactly that!! And, as a bonus, they got a petition signed to destabilize the US economy!
Well, they’re just as stupid as hippies. So now this brings us to Peter Schiff. I’m not sure how, but he was able to go to the Dem convention unrecognized. Oh, wait, those obliviots don’t know anything about money. And to demonstrate that, Peter Schiff in the tradition of the people above he gets people at the Dim convention to advocate either limiting or outright banning corporate profits.
LET’S BAN PROFITS!!!
Sorry for being OT again, but you reminded me of an old, stupid joke:
“What is H2O?”
Answer: Water
“What is H2O4?”
Answer: Drinking (H2O is for drinking).
Jim
Lol, very nice! I’ll use that at the bar tonight when shooting pool. 🙂
Reblogged this on Climate Ponderings.
“You happen to be one of the smartest people I’ve ever known” – she even recognizes him and yet she doesn’t recognize that she’s being taken for a ride. Love it!
But, real life imitates satire faster than light, as what follows happened, wait, 10 hours in the past on the other side of the Atlantic…
A few hours ago one of my poor Spiegel reading socialist coworkers told me exactly this:
“Energy-intensive industries in Germany get themselves excemptions from paying the renewable energy FIT cross subsidy fee per kWh. (which would be about 35% of the normal industry tariff)
So when they do that and we grant them this subsidy (yes he called it a subsidy to rob someone a little less), they should in return promise to re-invest all their profits in the company. ”
So I said, ok, you want to ban profits, I see, like in the Soviet Union.
Other socialist coworker: Hey come on…
Me: In the SU, profits were illegal.
first soc. coworker: No they should only promise to re-invest their profits so that the money stays in the company:
Me: That’s the same. The investor will get no interest on his capital so the investment becomes worthless (etc etc… trying to fill in the gaps the Spiegel education left)
They are, just like at your DNC, hapless rubes, and let themselves be agitated by the oldest agitprop from journalist school. Or by Peter Schiff.
CEO compensation is definitely out of whack in some companies.
That’s true, but as my father was fond of saying, ‘Life is not fair’.
On a related note, Jay Leno is definitely not one of my favorite comedians (never found him funny) and I certainly do not agree with most of his politics, but he is a stand up guy to take a 50% pay cut for the team. It is a shame that Jay’s actions are the aberration in today’s business world, but WE THE PEOPLE are supposed to be free to make bad choices.
“CEO compensation is definitely out of whack in some companies.”
But that’s a problem for the company, its shareholders, its customers and its workers – not for society.
If you think your CEO is overpaid and that’s the reason the company pays you badly or goes downhill – jump ship. Find a better employer.
If you think your CEO is overpaid and the company’s doing greatly and pays you a fair wage – then the CEO is not overpaid.
It comes down to basic economics. How many people can be a successful CEO (and that is not to say most of the current CEOs even qualify)? Versus how many can clean restrooms?
Companies are bidding up the price of CEOs, but not bathroom janitors. LIberals are ensuring there is an over abundance of the latter. Public Education is ensuring their is a shortage of the former.
Kind of scary really – if nothing else, the democrats have shown us just how radical they are. And also stupid.
Yes, radical and stupid.
I keep “Ban Dihydrogen Monoxide” flyers in my desk, and use them on stupid coworkers (leftists). Not once has even ONE of them got the joke (probably because there was no mirror present). Real sciency crowd there.
Gator, the problem is no one TOLD them what to believe, so they just assume since it has chemicals in it, it must be bad.
Try another Joke. Tell them that Phil Jones and Michael Mann has said that dihydrogen monoxide is the major cause of global warming. You will get no argument, but you will get a crusader to ban it before it destroys the planet!
I keep a MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for Dihydrogen Monoxide handy in case I have to use this hazarous substance at work.
OT, a poll at the WSJ, needs some attention: http://blogs.wsj.com/ideas-market/2012/09/04/vote-should-solar-and-wind-power-be-subsidized/
Thanks, I gave them input about the state of affairs in Germany. Maybe they can make use of it.
