Exploiting Human Suffering—A Time Honored Tradition Of The Totalitarians

BLOOMBERG: TIME TO TALK ABOUT GUN CONTROL

Bloomberg an opportunistic totalitarian scumbag.

Well, you could count on this like clockwork.  Some maniac goes insane and kills a bunch of people.  The totalitarians think they can solve this by taking your right to defend yourself away.  The piercing screech for stricter gun laws hasn’t yet reached a crescendo.

Of course, this ignores the reality of several issues, not the least of which is that maniacs such as Holmes had at his disposal many other weapons of death.   Do they think a magazine with a limited capacity would have prevented any deaths?

Earlier this month I wrote of another shooting.  The difference in the outcome is remarkable.  The people in the theater were massacred because no one had a weapon to stop that maniac.  Oh, there would have been ample opportunity to do just that.  ……  James Holmes’ Gun Jammed During Aurora Attack, Official Says

As typical totalitarians are, they refuse to acknowledge their own failures in this issue.  It is their advocacy which creates these all-to-often moments of opportunity.  Does anyone believe for a second that if the majority of the people in that theater was armed that this would have happened?  To be sure, Holmes likely would have found a different avenue for his depravity, but we can all be fairly certain those people in the theater would be alive today if most people carried a weapon.

Inevitably some jack wagon will compare our statistics to other countries.  It is baseless and senseless, but it will happen.  Why is it baseless and senseless?  Because we are a different nation, a different people.  We are a different culture, our demographics are different, our geographics are different.  Even more, we can easily make the same comparison going the other way, which demonstrates in other countries at different times strict gun control laws leads to more violence and depravity.  In this country, the right to self defense is sacrosanct.

Of course, this brings us to another inevitable aspect of the discussion.  The Fast and Furious scandal has brought many things to light.  Not the least of which is that many guns used by the Mexican gangs are not of American origin.  Regardless of one’s abstract position on gun control, given our absolute refusal to secure our border means that no amount of gun control will have any effect in keeping guns out of criminal hands.  None.  If you want a gun, just pop across the border and buy one.  Or, just place a large order and they’ll deliver.

Now, we can only imagine why the totalitarians wish us to be helpless and defenseless, but I don’t really know.  It is the most un-American thought.  The thought is an insult to our heritage, it is an insult to our nation, it is an insult to the citizenry, and it is an insult to Liberty.  The horrible tragedy in Aurora should not be exploited for political gain.  It is despicable that one would do so.   NYC, would you please leash your pet.  Just because you people wish to live your lives under the thumb of would be tin-pot dictators doesn’t mean the rest of us need infected by your vile disregard for Liberty.

Of course, all of this largely avoids the greater discussion of the concepts of life versus living, and Liberty over mere existence.  That will be for another time of writing.  For now, let’s just point out that it was the effective helplessness of the people which allowed these murders to take place.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims of that horrible act of depravity.  I pray that you would arm yourselves and be resolute that such madness never happen to you again.

Gun control is what leads to these mass shootings. If everyone were armed, this would, and could not happen.

    See: Switzerland. 😉

As Suyts said above don’t compare other cultures. If you are worried about totalitarians then look at the US drug policies which is probably the main and primary cause of homicides and access to weapons is the secondary cause. This is also killing your government as the cost of locking up so many people due to prohibition is extremely expensive and doesn’t work anyway. Someone should be free to take drugs so long as they do not hurt others but it should not be encouraged as it is bad for the person involved. Another thing is most deaths caused by guns are probably by gangs of equally armed people so mutual destruction does not work as a deterent in this case. Although I would not like the US gun culture in Australia in a pragmatic sense unless bans were federal there is no real point to restrict fire arms in any particular areas of US as they can just be carried across state lines. It should be recognised that deaths do happen in the current US cultural sense due to having more firearms around when someone gets scared they sometimes shoot with no good reason. Whichever side of the argument you are on you must recognise the reality of the situation. The mass killings such as in the case mentioned above are neither here nor there as it makes up such a small proportion of killings it can’t be considered of any significance. Due to the numbers of weapons out there banning weapons is likely to be difficult because removing them in the first place would seem almost impossible at the moment.

Lol, yeh, I kinda limited that, didn’t I. The drug fiasco has become a business. While it is horribly expensive, we’ve created huge industries dependent upon the arrests, fines and imprisonment. We’re privatizing our prisons. We’ve a labor force of social workers equal to the entire work force of some first world nations. And the fines are an endless revenue stream for all of the governments from fed to local.

  4. In Galatians 6:7 scripture says:

“Make no mistake about this: You can never make a fool out of God. Whatever you plant is what you’ll harvest.”

This not only applies to individuals but to nations. There have been more than 55 million legal abortions in America since Roe v Wade. The abortion pill adds to that, and it cannot be known how many babies have been aborted by it. America is reaping the blood it is shedding. God’s protection from hideous events like Columbine, Paducah, the University of West Virginia, Aurora, and all others, is gone. Until America turns to God and overturns Roe v Wade God’s protection will not, and cannot return. The laws of the universe cannot be broken. They are responses to actions.

I believe it is the cheapening of life which causes these things. When we split hairs about when life does or doesn’t start, then we’re teaching people that life sometimes doesn’t mean as much as we sometimes say it does. So, what is a child, raised with such beliefs, suppose to think about the sanctity of life? That child can’t possibly believe in it because this nation has taught the child otherwise.

  5. David says:

In addition I feel that teaching people that they are “victims”, and that “they” did this to you, leads to such tragic actions.
