OMG!!!! It’s so hot here in Kansas!
The world is burning! A new sun is forming on the plains! They said this was coming! They said if we kept driving to work we’d all be toast! We didn’t listen! Oh, why didn’t we listen!??!?? ![]()
They said the cow farts would get us and all we did was laugh at them!! They said all of the glaciers were melting and we called them liars! Well, there’s no glaciers in Kansas now!
A farmer was burning off his field. Then he moved the cattle off of it……right through the fire! They couldn’t feel any difference! It’s sooooooo hot!
What are we going to do?!?!?!!!??!! ![]()
What’s that you say? That this year isn’t very hot? Well, sir, in the immortal words of Joe Wilson, “YOU LIE!!!” You say fires in Colorado and the heat in Kansas are only localized reoccurring events? That’s impossible! This has to be the hottest year evuh! Evuh I tell you! Hottest evuh!
You say that this isn’t the hottest ever? Well prove it, you evil global heat wave denier!
Yeh, well that doesn’t prove anything! It can still be hotter than 1998 and 2010!
2012 so far is easily cooler than 3 of the last 7 years. For about 10 days last month 2012 was warmer than 2010. All the other time, it has been cooler. The hysteria being bandied about in the press is overblown and disingenuous. You don’t have to be a climate scientist to look this stuff up. In fact, click on both graphs and you can do the same thing I just did. Note: For the bottom graph click the dropdown menu for AQUA ch05.
The hype is garbage. Colorado had some very tragic, yet, very preventable events. Pine forests are not ideal spots for homes. The forests could be better managed. The decimation of the fire fighting air force ensured that the forest fires would rage longer than what they would have. There is much blame to go around for these tragic events. Blathering about global warming in such opportunist manner when the earth is demonstrably cooler than in the past is a horrible sign of disrespect for the victims and speaks volumes to the character of the people who do so.
As far as Kansas goes…… phhffttt. We’ve seen much worse than this. This ain’t nothin.

“A new sun if forming on the plains!”
If it is? Or is it is?
If it was it would be is. I poofread everything I write!
Too funny James… yes we have seen hotter here in Kansas. For that matter it was hotter in Oregon when I lived there. 🙂
The first time since the basketball season has anyone outside mentions Kansas and they got to cry about global warming…… 😐
Dist storm in Rolla, Kansas,
July 3, 2112,April 14, 1935.I need to proof read too, dust, not dist
And of course I meant
2012, not2112.100 years from now they’ll be wetting themselves about something then too….. 🙂
This looks like a bad B movie from 1934 about the apocalypse:
They were some enduring people back then. Tough times don’t last, tough people do.
Lol, right….. it’s been a lot worse.
Desperate times called for desperate measures: 1934 Kansas jackrabbit drives
I don’t see many jack rabbits anymore, but, rabbit is good eating!
There’s plenty of jackrabbits out this way but, tragically, all the jackalopes are gone. They couldn’t migrate North fast enough to escape the global warming. All we have left are stuffed ones to remind us of what a beautiful creature they once were.
Poor slow jackalopes….. I understand some mountain rats called pikas are equally slow.
Yes, it looks like pikas are falling victim to global warming too. WWF makes this claim:
http://www.worldwildlife.org/species/finder/americanpika/americanpika.html
First the jackalope and now the pikas.
I think the reason for all of this is that the WWF failed zoology. Everything’s a canary to them. The poor pikas are confused. Is prolly what happened to the jackalopes! Someone should tell the WWF that those aren’t birds!!!
Was that Jimmy Carter rabbit a flyer? Or was that in the Holy Grail? 😉
Lol, poor uncle Jimmy. I remember when he was attacked by the killer rabbit!
