A common philosophical strategy of leftists is to keep the poor people poor and dependent upon the government for their existence. We see this manifested in many ways around the world. They intentionally do things which inhibit the poor’s ability to break the chains of reliance. Later, after the leftists have created a need or crisis, they will then engage in class warfare and demand the more successful segments of society pay to help the poor in their struggle to overcome the crisis the leftists have created.
Apparently, this dynamic can now be seen in Germany. The No Tricks Zone posts that there are now 800,000 Germans who have had their electricity cut off. (Story in German here. )
As Germany subsidies wealthy homeowners and businesses owners to install solar panels on their homes and commercial buildings, low income families living in rented apartments are getting stuck footing skyrocketing electric bills. Many can no longer afford to pay for electricity, and so the utilities are cutting off their power.
Indeed high energy prices are causing everything else to get more expensive as well – all this while the euro is threatened to collapse under the weight of massive debt due to financial ineptitude.
This is now the cue for the politicians to demand some one pay for their ineptitude.
“Energy companies should be obligated to offer the first 500 kilowatt-hours per household at a low rate, SPD (social democrat party) faction vice chairman Ulrich Kelber demanded in a strategy paper, which he wants to present to the SPD leaders.”
Peters of the Association of Energy Consumers, however, goes even further, saying there’s a need for a general cost exemption for the first 500 kilowatt hours consumed per year and household. The exemption should apply to all citizens.
Also the VdK Social Association of Hesse-Thuringia is demanding social tariffs. VdK chairman Udo Schlitt says that without a price rebate, more and more people with low incomes are going to have their power shut off. He proposes:
“Therefore all power producers must be mandated to offer binding social rates by law.”
Another SPD scheme, one of course that the other parties will join in on:
“Moreover, there should also be a billion-euro subsidy program so that, for example, energy saving refrigerators can be bought.”
And, the cycle of depravity continues.

The interests of the political class are to create problems, then give out handouts to the affected. This creates dependancy and obedience. Notice that no political party in Germany demands to solve the cause of the problem, the mandated economic inefficiency in the electricity generation. All seven parties are united in demanding ever more renewable power.
As usual: Is their thinking so muddled that they don’t see the consequences of their actions, or are they all totalitarians.

In Australia we have that sorted. The “compensation” for those on middle to lower incomes and selected businesses will be in excess of the revenue of the “carbon tax” for the first 4 years. After the fixed price period carbon credits will be bought overseas so don’t know what is supposed to happen then. It should be noted that according to our government we will increase CO2E emissions and the cuts are somehow going to come from developing countries. Like they don’t really want power and industry I suppose.

Developing countries have to be kept in a non-developing state or the source of credits could be restricted. Give people solar stoves, collect some credits for the CO2 that the stoves don’t generate, sell and move on. Give some Indian farmer a few bucks to use his nephew to power irrigation treadle pumps instead of diesel pumps, collect some “human power” credits (JP Morgan/Chase) and move on. The 3rd world is the cash cow of carbon traders. Why would they want them to advance, since that would have to mean a higher CO2 output?
Well, yes, its was always the plan to keep the 3rd world from developing.
Once there was a farmer who had a mule. His friend wanted to buy the mule. He reluctantly sold the mule for $500. A few wks later, the farmer begin to miss the mule and asked his friend to sell the mule back to him. He agreed, but told him he needed $600 for the mule. The farmer agreed and bought the mule back. A few months passed and his friend said he really needed the mule and wanted to buy him back again. The farmer agreed and asked $700 and sold the mule. This went on for a few years and the price of the mule hit over $1000, until one day, the farmer went to, once again, buy back his mule. His friend, sadly, reported, that the mule died a couple weeks back. Dismayed the farmer, hung his head and said, “That’s a shame, both of us were making good money off that mule.”
At what point are carbon credits being sold back and forth and everybody is “making good money” until the market dies and the value was imaginary. It’s all make-believe….using forests, hydro projects, agriculture methods, human labor instead of machines, etc. for carbon credits. Farmers who have been using no-till for years are now getting carbon credits for something they’ve always done. Forests are used for credits, that people had no intention of cutting…..it goes on and on. Gives new meaning to “inheriting the wind”. Those purchasing “credits” are adding no value to the business. Con men, worldwide, probably couldn’t believe their luck when such a system was created. What a gift! Just print some official looking papers, set-up a store front, make several million and disappear.
Lol, that seems to be the market philosophy today. All we need to do now is find a couple of more pigs, one for each. We can both agree that the pigs are worth $20 million or so,and then extend each other credit on the pigs and then we can play for a while!
