Idiot Leftards Don’t Know What Mustard Gas Is

Dan Froomkin of HuffPo writes and tells a story.

In the story, he notes that the majority of Republicans insist that Saddam had WMD.  He touts a new poll which supports this finding.

He leads with this question……. “How misinformed are Republicans about world affairs?”

Now, I’ve heard that we didn’t find any.  But, that doesn’t mean none were there.  In fact, the world knows Saddam didn’t just have WMD, Saddam used WMD.  This isn’t a partisan question.  This isn’t up for interpretation.  This is established fact.  Mustard gas was his preferred WMD of choice, but it is also suspected that he at least attempted to acquire other WMD.

Saddam Hussein used mustard gas on his own citizens.  He used it on the Kurds.

The Halabja poison gas attack also known as Halabja massacre or Bloody Friday, was a genocidal massacre against the Kurdish people that took place on March 16, 1988, during the closing days of the Iran–Iraq War, when chemical weapons were used by the Iraqi government forces in the Kurdish town of Halabja in Iraqi Kurdistan.

The attack killed between 3,200 and 5,000 people, and injured around 7,000 to 10,000 more, most of them civilians; thousands more died of complications, diseases, and birth defects in the years after the attack.  The incident, which has been officially defined as an act of genocide against the Kurdish people in Iraq, was and still remains the largest chemical weapons attack directed against a civilian-populated area in history.

Saddam used it against the Iranians in the Iran-Iraq war.  This isn’t hearsay, this is established fact by legal standards.

On Tuesday 30 June 2009, the Supreme Court of the Netherlands rendered its judgement in the case of Frans van Anraat, a Dutch businessman, upholding the 2005 conviction for complicity to war crimes. The Dutch highest court declared that “The suspect knew […] the TDG he was delivering was being used for mustard gas”, and “knew that the poison gas would be used in the (Iran-Iraq) war”. However, the Court rejected the claims for damages brought by 16 victims as being too complicated, especially where Iraqi or Iranian law would be applicable. Additionally, the Court reduced Van Anraat’s sentence by six months due to the length of the proceedings.

This stuff isn’t a Bush conspiracy, Dick Cheney didn’t have any sway on the Dutch court.  Click on the links provided, or simply search for mustard gas and Saddam.

For those not familiar, mustard gas is a weapon of mass destruction.  It isn’t just shown that he had it, it is shown that he used it.  I’m sick of these leftists inventing their own history and then telling people they’re wrong about the history that we know.  Every time you read or hear one of these cretins babble about WMDs, ask them “what is mustard gas?”.  If they can’t tell you, point at them and laugh hysterically.  If they can tell you, then in the most serious manner, explain to these genocidal deniers, that in some places of the world it is against the law to deny similar events.  Scumbags.  I really don’t think it is appropriate to attempt to score political points while attempting to pretend stuff like this didn’t happen.

I believe it demonstrates a certain depravity I can’t quite describe, but I do know that I don’t believe these people possess the proper characteristics to call themselves human.

The imprecise use of the English language is their problem. Talking points do not have the content to fully state the position. They have to be sloganized, and in so doing, those learning of their facts through them use the talking points as imprecise arguments.

You can always catch a libtard in 2 lies. One as you point out is the issue of WMDs.

The other is their claim of Bush lying. To date, not a single libtard has come back at me after I challenge them to disprove the Kurd gas attacks, or that Bush KNEW there were no WMDs there. They believe it, just as any religion, but the sad fact is they donot know how to reason, and so are always caught with their pants down.

Well, yes, Hussein was evil and the world would have been a better place if he had gone to Hades the day he attained adulthood. No argument there. The “he gassed his own people” story has an interesting twist to it though, at least interesting to me. After the gassing of the Kurds happened, the US Army War College commissioned a study to find out what happened. Their conclusion was this: The Kurds died when their village of Halabja was caught in the crossfire of the Iraq/Iran war. Both sides were using poison gas; additionally the winds were not constant but were changing in direction and intensity. The Iraqis used mustard gas. The Iranians used a nerve agent. The US Army determined that the Kurds had died from Iranian gas, and not from Iraqi gas. Here is where the story gets interesting. For years, the report was available on the US Army website; I know, because I downloaded it and read it there myself. However, before the 2003 invasion of Iraq, I suddenly began seeing US politicians and pundits going on about how “Saddam gassed his own people!” I went back to the US Army site to pull up the report and, as you may suspect, it was gone. I wish I had made a copy of the original, but I read it back in the mid 1990s when I was a bit more naive about governmental control of information. I did finally find another report which at least referenced the conclusions of the first, so I know I am remembering correctly.

So, the facts are in question and the truth may be any of several different flavors. Iraq was our friend when they attacked Iran, so did we cover up our buddy Hussein murdering the Kurds by issuing a false report? Or maybe we did not want to get condemned for supplying him with arms and supplies which may have helped him in his murder of the Kurds. Or maybe the Iranians really did do it, and when 2003 rolled around we wanted something horrible to pin on Iraq, so we disappeared the report and said that Saddam did it. I have no way of knowing — but I have at least learned to be very much aware that large governments and powerful interest groups — whether they are Republican, Democrat, civilian or military, Iraqi, Iranian, Muslim, Christian or Jew — will lie in their own interest, especially if it allows them to demonize an opponent.

Even closer to home, we have all seen how our own beloved governmental agencies lie through their teeth to promote belief in and fear of CAGW. It is a very effective set of lies, at least when consumed by the usual liberal, emotional driven half of the population. But do you think it stops there? Do you think that the Powers That Be would create such a wonderfully effective set of memes for instilling fear in the liberal half, but somehow not make a second set of lies, a set designed to control the rest of us on the more conservative side?

Saddam? Glad he is dead. Sad I didn’t get to pee on his grave. Did he gas the Kurds? I am sure he would have if he thought it was in his own personal self interest — but did he actually do it? I have no way of knowing, and the people I would in the past have trusted to tell me the truth, have proven that they cannot be trusted.

Read the personal affidavit and book by Latif Yahia- He explains in the book how Saddam plans and executes the plan to murder his own people
