A Clear Carbon Catastrophe As We Pass A Milestone

Well, they tell us we went over 400ppm in our atmospheric CO2.

Bill McKibben the rest of the nuts believe if we just get back down to 350ppm, then we’d be okay!  Of course, they also believe that CO2 controls our climate.

image

Well, I think 350ppm is too ambitious.  But, in the spirit of compromise, I suggest we give them the climate we had if 70% of their goal was met!

image

No, no.  I mean it Bill.  I’ll do my best to get our climate back to the point where 70% of your goal is met.  You can trust me.  Would that make you happy, Bill?

image

Well, okay, let’s all pitch in and get our climate back to where it was when CO2 was about 365ppm!

Okay, Bill, we’re done.  And, you’re welcome.  Hot

I don’t know why those guys act like this is such hard stuff, or make a big deal out of it.  I think they’re attention whores.  Well, I did my part!   Smile

About the graph….. The temp graph is the WoodForTrees Temperature Index (WTI). This is created from the mean of HADCRUT3VGL, GISTEMP, RSS and UAH, offset by their baseline differences.  And then trended.  I then offset the graph, bringing it up to the same point in time for the CO2 graph.  In other words, in 1998, CO2 levels were 365ppm or 70% of wild Bill’s goal of 350ppm.  You can play with it here.

roaring laughing…I needed this right now!

    thank you!

I’m down in Lat’s neck of the woods tonight and thought I would read the latest posts at suyts from my hotel room before turning in. I am so ROFLMAO with this story. The photos just add to the humor.

    • Latitude says:

Hey Hank, where are you?….it’s pouring right now!

      • HankH says:

Hello Lat, I just returned to the desert after being rained on for several days down your way. Actually I was in Miami Lakes (a bit North of you).

It’s supposed to hit 105 deg. today but it’s a dry heat. It feels good to dry off. Ha!

  3. suyts says:

Thanks guys….. both Lat and Hank….. I know you both laughed like I did when I put this post together. I thought it was a hoot!!!

Sorry to burst your bubble, The temperature is not statistically different from what was experienced during the late 1800s when the so called CO2 readings were thought to be much lower than the 350 number. We have seen variations in the weather that have produced variations in experienced temperatures but we can still find temperature records equal to the warmest we are currently experiencing or have during the last 40 years.
That also brings up the reliability of the so called current CO2 measurements as a Global Indice.

    • suyts says:

Mike! How’s it going? Sure, the manipulation of the temp record is well known, but, for the humor purposes I like to use their own idiocy against them, so I was precluded from using actual temp to CO2 comparisons…. like you say, global CO2 measurements are also in doubt.

      • miked1947 says:

I could have put a big smile on that one for you.
Things are going great and I am preoccupied with enjoying my self. So I do not spend as much time reading and commenting.
I just wanted to point out that there are days in the 1880s that can be used to show Bill does not have a clue

        • suyts says:

I’m glad things are great!!! But, you’ve gotta keep us updated! Well,….. okay, you don’t gotta, but, it would be nice.

Mike, there are a few. You are one of them.

Bill is one of the funniest lunatics there is. I actually have a soft spot for Bill. He tries so hard….. that’s worth points!…… Right?

        • miked1947 says:

Bill is so OTT that it is hard not to feel sorry for him and his delusions. H seems to actually believe what he is spouting and blindly follows what others have told him.
It is not nice to make fun of the mentally challenged.
On the other hand it is hard to keep from mocking them, especially when they think the world needs to change to fit their vision.
His manners, actions and looks remind me of the crazy person standing on the corner with the sandwich board that proclaims the end is near.

        • suyts says:

Lol, yeh, it almost isn’t fair picking on him. But, the humor was too delicious to pass on. 😉

  5. G. Combs says:

I disagree with Weeping Willy, 70% is much to lenient we need to bring it down to 20% !!!
That is 20% of the Cambrian period which was 7000 ppm of CO2.
