Question Asked, Question Answered.

A couple of weeks ago I asked, Is There An Adult In Charge At The White House?

This was asked in reference to the various recent scandals occurring with the GSA, the Secret Service and others.  Well, we have our answer.

Embarrassed by a prostitution scandal, the Secret Service will assign chaperones on some trips to enforce new rules of conduct that make clear that excessive drinking, entertaining foreigners in their hotel rooms and cavorting in disreputable establishments are no longer tolerated.

In the meantime, the president joked at the White House Correspondents Dinner.

“I mean, look at this party.  We’ve got men in tuxes, women in gowns, fine wine, first-class entertainment,” he said. “I was just relieved to learn this was not a GSA conference.” …….. “I have to get the Secret Service home in time for their new curfew.”

Now, I’m not bagging on the president for attending the dinner, all presidents have since it’s inception.  But, trivializing these incidents shows a huge disconnect from the American people.  The answer to my question is clearly, no, there are no adults in this administration.  They continue to live a lavish lifestyle, joking about how they can spend our money and act with impunity.  If we truly believe our Secret Service needs chaperones, then maybe we need to re-evaluate our standards for hiring and job retention.

But, this is indicative of the leftist mentality.  The answer isn’t to have more oversight, the answer is to demand a higher form of personal conduct.  We all make mistakes and errors in judgment.  It is how we respond to these things which measures us.  Now our Secret Service needs chaperones to ensure they won’t sully our reputation?  No, that’s not the answer.  Now we laugh about the GSA making videos mocking their responsibilities and simply believing they are entitled to gifts and gadgets bought at the expense of the U.S. taxpayer?  The fix isn’t more oversight to this either.  The fix is for these people to act like mature adults and take their responsibilities serious.  If they can’t do this on their own, they don’t need to be employed by the people.  It is as simple as that.

What is this $hit: No longer tolerated. Has anyone stopped to read the ethics policy these people should have signed as part of taking their jobs. My job was not as critical but it appears my ethics guidelines were stricter than either group. I was not supposed to allow a customer to buy a meal or even some one that I was supervising because it appeared to be return of a favor or a favor might be expected. The company would pay for casual breakfasts during work hours to celebrate an event and after hours get together were promoted to strengthen relationships.
