In other news in academia today, after retiring from football coaching last year, in order to spend more time with his family, Urban Meyer has agreed to become the next football coach at Ohio State University. Reportedly, Meyer has agreed on a multiyear contract that could pay him almost $6 million a year.
Apparently, Boeheim is angry that some of the colleges’ money may have to be diverted from coaching salaries to the legal defense of sexually deviant and predatory coaches.

Yeh, I don’t hold anything against coach Boeheim, but for him to start babbling about money and the cost to universities…….. geez, Best case scenario, the pot just met the kettle. The worst case…….. well, I hope it doesn’t get there.
Like the practice of hazing this will probably come out as being a more common practice than many believed.
Organizations involving youth have always been magnets that draw predictors looking for easy targets and parents wanting others to do their jobs of raising the kids promote some of these practices.
Attorneys are probably drawing up plans to find more litigants from other schools and youth clubs. They are seeing dollar signs with every headline.
Yes, for too long our universities have been beyond scrutiny. I believe we’re well past the time to start taking a long hard look at the people who are watching our children when we send them to college, and we need to scrutinize the money being spent by these universities.

Yes, it does. I didn’t get to see the game, did Miles run up the score or do something crass?
I think he felt LSU ran up the score. But I didn’t think that. Arkansas was fighting very hard. I didn’t see it as running up the score. But Petrino got beat bad, worse than he thought he could be beat, I think, so the expletive came out.
That’s usually the case. When coaches get embarrassed, like all of us, they tend to get angry. That said, my two favorite coaches of all time, Tom Landry and Bear Bryant, would not have reacted in that manner. And, Lombardi would just have been yelling at his team.
The score was 24-17 at the end of the 3rd. LSU scored 17 in the 4th, Arkansas was shut out in the 4th. It ended 41-17. I think Petrino was dealing with more frustration than he could handle.
