Zero ran on being against wars in the mid-east. VP Biden threatened to impeach Bush if he acted without congressional approval.
Time mag now says Zero doesn’t need no stinkin congressional approval. The NY Times ran an op-ed saying we don’t have to bother with the UN Security Council. Which is funny because the statist globalists always seem to defer to the UN. It just goes to show, regardless of the governing body, the lunatics have no respect for the rule of law.
We have to note, when Bush went to Iraq, he did have congressional approval. The argument can be made that US interests were at stake there.
What US interests are at stake in Syria? What of the American public? Last night I watched Maddow contort uncomfortably, but, even that idiot referenced the U.S. Constitution. Which is her own bit of hypocrisy, but, I digress. When the right and the left of the US agree, that we won’t a more deliberative process to take place before we make a decision towards Syria, then that’s probably what we ought to do.
Before we make one strike against Syria, we need to be clear as to what our goals are. And, how this serves the interests of the US. We also have to be clear about the potential risks. There’s a lot of sabre rattling from the other side, which most can be ignored. Still, the willingness and desire to attack Israel, using this incident as an excuse, should be taken seriously.
Given the history of incompetence and deception used by this current administration, I’ve no confidence in what they’re telling us today. But, even if it is true, even if the Syrian government used chemicals in an attack, I don’t believe it is in the interests of the US to respond. To do what? Protect some terrorist cannibals?
Even the notion that Zero can navigate the diplomatic roil with this seemingly eminent strike is a laughable notion. He’s made a mess everywhere he went and in every action he’s done. We pulled out of Iraq, and now it’s devolving into violence again. He’s remained in Afghanistan for no discernable reason, and it’s as bad as it ever was. Libya is a fractured nation now with their military unable to exert control in the eastern part of the nation. And, Egypt? Well, the chaos and violence he helped create is well documented.
The American people need to demand that he leave stuff alone and we’ll wait for an adult in the White House. Everything he touches turns to crap. There’s no reason to believe this would be anything different.
