Dan Mitchell's Battle Of The Sponges!

Dan Mitchell points out from, time to time, some egregious examples of disgusting parasitic behavior.  Like me, he often likes to put it in the form of a competition between nations.  I was reading about some of his “competitors” and thought to share….. because that’s just the kind of guy I am.    And, Dan doesn’t do it right!  We’ve got to get some rolling commentary in here!!

The welfare state creates some amazingly pathetic and disgusting individuals.

• In the battle of the bums, we’ve had the spectacle of “Diaper Man” vs “Footless Hans.”
• In the contest for most despicable moocher, we have the “Florida Pedophiles” vs the “Gimme Babymaker.”
• And the fight for most pathetic victim of dependency features the “Connecticut Kid” vs the “English Loafer.”

But I’ve never found a match for Olga, a Greek woman who thinks it is government’s job to take care of her from cradle to grave.

At least not until now. I’m excited to announce that Olga has a soulmate named Natalija. She’s from Lithuania, but she now lives in England, and she doubtlessly will inspire Olga on how to live off the state.

Here’s some of what The Sun reported about this very successful moocher.

So, who’s the biggest sponge?  Is it Diaper Man? (USA!!!)  We remember Diaper man, right?

“You wanna test how damn serious I am about leaving this world, screw with my check that pays for this apartment and food. Try it. See how serious I am. I don’t care,” the California man said. “I have no problem killing myself. Take away the last thing keeping me here, and see what happens. Next time you see me on the news, it will be me in a body bag.”

The lunatic threatened to kill himself if they cut off his disability checks.  We’ll never know how serious he was because our bureaucrats deemed him disabled, even though he custom built most of the idiotic furniture he uses for his fetish.

But, we can be sure of the seriousness of Footless Hans.(Austria)….. that idiot…..

…almost died after cutting his own foot off so he could stay on jobless benefits… Long term unemployed Hans Url, 56, had just been told his hand-outs would stop if he did not accept work found for him by job centre staff.

But, maybe not either one of them….. we have the “Florida Pedophiles” (yes!  USA again!)  This is a touching story of family unity…..  Alicia Bouchard…….

encouraged her husband to have sex with a 12-year-old girl so that she would get pregnant and they could claim extra cash benefits. Alicia Bouchard even sat and watched while her 26-year-old husband had sex with the underage girl at their Florida home.

That’s going to be tough to beat!  We do have the Babymaker, (the UK gets an entry!!!) she’s on benefits, does not live with the boy’s father and has 10 other children, the court heard.   The 13 y/o boy was caught on TV participating in the riots.  It really wasn’t the young lad’s fault according to mum…….

But the woman also suggested her son was not entirely at fault, when asked who she blamed for the looting.

”The government,” she replied, her son by her side, adding: ”There is f*** all for them to do.”

Poor tyke just had extra energy to burn because the government doesn’t provide him with something to do.

Then there’s the tragic story of Nicole and many more.  (Connecticut USA, again)  Here this is the inverse of the mother of the riotous 13y/o.  It isn’t because of what the government isn’t doing, it is because of what it is doing……..

Connecticut is among the most generous of the states to out-of-wedlock mothers. Teenage girls like Nicole qualify for a vast array of welfare benefits from the state and federal governments: medical coverage when they become pregnant (called “Healthy Start”); later, medical insurance for the family (“Husky”); child care (“Care 4 Kids”); Section 8 housing subsidies; the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program; cash assistance. If you need to get to an appointment, state-sponsored dial-a-ride is available. If that appointment is college-related, no sweat: education grants for single mothers are available, too. Nicole didn’t have to worry about finishing the school year; the state sent a $35-an-hour tutor directly to her home halfway into her final trimester and for six weeks after the baby arrived. …… children who have children. What it amounts to in practice is a monolithic public endorsement of single motherhood—one that has turned our urban high schools into puppy mills. The safety net has become a hammock.

And what happens to the children of these children?  We all know the answer.

The UK easily answers this one back!  But, it’s in the form of a video…..

Of course, no self respecting competition of this nature would be complete without a Greek competitor…… Olga, the embodiment of the latest Greed tragedy…..

Olga Stefou is 20. She speaks passable English and studies political science. These days she goes into the streets to shout slogans against the government and the International Monetary Fund. She has no choice, she says: She believes that upon graduation she’ll be lucky to land a job that pays $500 a month.

“I’ll be forced to live with my parents and work three jobs,” she said, pausing among the throngs trickling into the street as a recent demonstration got underway. “I’ll be doomed to a fate I haven’t chosen. This is the state of my generation.”

Stefou believes that the government is bound to respond to her discontent. And she has suggestions: Greece should make up its budget shortfall by pulling its 122 troops from Afghanistan and levying steep taxes on the Orthodox Church rather than squeezing the workers, she says.

Clearly, her studies don’t include math or problem solving of any kind.  Many people in other places take a different approach when we decide we no longer wish to live with our parents.  But, hey, maybe whining in the streets works?

Lastly, there’s Natalija, she actually represents two nations!  She immigrated from Lithuania, but she now gets her goodies in England!

Natalija Belova, 33, told The Sun how she spurns full-time work — yet can afford foreign holidays and buys designer clothes. The Lithuanian said: “British benefits give me and my daughter a good life.” She has milked soft-touch Britain for £50,000 in benefits and yesterday said: “I simply take what is given to me.”

The graduate, who became a single mum after she arrived here, rakes in more than £1,000 a month in handouts — £14,508 a year — to fund her love of designer clothes, jaunts to the Spanish sun and nightclubbing.

She bragged: “I have a lovely, fully-furnished flat and money to live properly on.

But she does have one criticism. Natalija moaned: “I think they should help pay for private nannies, rather than just free nursery.”

I’m shocked at the inhumanity of the Brits!!!!  What?  No private nannies?  Barbarians!

So, there you have it!  Who’s the winner?  It’s a tight battle, so far.  Right now, I’d have to say the US has the edge, but, I’m sure we can find more examples from all over the world!
