Seattle!! Because Less Than 2/3 mm/yr Sea Rise Is A Threat To Something …… :|

LOL, yes, waste the money on this because heaven knows you’ve nothing better to do with it.

Seattle calculates how climate change will redraw its shores

Parts of Interbay, Georgetown, South Park, West Seattle, Harbor Island and Golden Gardens will be under water as the local shoreline creeps higher due to global climate change, Seattle Public Utilities predicts.  …..

Calculations by the Washington Climate Impacts Group and the Washington Department of Ecology published in 2008 predict a sea-level rise in Seattle of 6 inches by 2050.

Less-likely scenarios are a sea-level rise of 3 inches on the low end and 22 inches on the high end. And that’s the new normal. Winter rain and wind storms and seasonal high tides — or combinations of any of those or other events — mean even higher water.

Yeh, right…. something.  Seattle, as far as I can tell, has a pretty clean tidal gauge record.  You can find it at PSMSL  Here’s the last 30 years plotted.

It’s risen less than 20mm in the last 30 years.   At this rate, from today, it wouldn’t even rise an inch by 2050.  The rate of rise would have to nearly quadruple to get over the 3 inch mark, their “less-likely low end scenario“.

Port Townsend, the nearest gauge in the data set has a continuity problem, but their latest 21 years shows this….

LOL, yes, Seattle, you need more studies!  The climate sea level rise will be on you before you know it!

Seattle also runs Washington state politically. You can now see why our state is in big trouble.

    Crazy is the New Normal.

Knowing your last statement to be true, someone on Steve Goddards blog made a statement and said so and so were “norms”. I assumed he was saying the same thing as your statement, until he came back and corrected his post to say he meant “morons”.

Which apparently is the same thing.

That is my story and I am sticking to it!!!! ;)
Yes the new normal in Seattle is MORONS, if they believe the sea level BS!

Meanwhile, the climate continues to warm. According to NOAA’s Climate Data Center, 2012 was one for the record books in terms of temperature and extreme weather events, from drought to wildfires, hurricanes and storms.

When I see these entirely bogus claims, I am assured that whatever so-called research they did was based on some global warming priest’s prognostications and clearly not on any empirical science.

I travel through Seattle often from Green bike path heaven – Vancouver BC. Can somebody calculate (The battery on my abacus just died) when I can make my last drive down Highway 5 without bringing my canoe or pontoons??
