Merry Christmas!!!!

I went to start a Christmas post.  I thought it would be neat to list some of the prophecies foretelling Jesus Christ.  Some of what I was doing seemed familiar.  About halfway through, I thought I’d check and see what I wrote last year…… yep, I was doing pretty much the same thing.  While I like to have new content on my blog, I think a repeat on this occasion will do nicely.

The First part of the Fulfillment

Tomorrow, many of us will celebrate the birth of Christ!  This is the first part of the fulfillment of God’s word.  There are, of course, many more examples to give which show the Fulfillment.  I thought I’d share just a few.  For those who may not be familiar, the Second fulfillment is the events celebrated for Easter.  The Third fulfillment will be His return!  Like the poor drummer boy of song(Bob Seger has a moving rendition), I’ve nothing to offer as a gift but my inadequate expressions.  So, I thought it would be better that I share God’s words instead.

God’s greatest Blessing has already been freely given!  All that is necessary to benefit from the Blessing is to receive Him!

Isaiah 7:14 (NIV) Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

Matthew 1:21-25 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” 22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” –which means, “God with us.” 24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25 But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

Psalms 72:10-11 (NIV) The kings of Tarshish and of distant shores will bring tribute to him; the kings of Sheba and Seba will present him gifts. 11 All kings will bow down to him and all nations will serve him.

Matthew 2:10-11 (NIV) When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh.

Micah 5:1-2 (NIV) Marshal your troops, O city of troops, for a siege is laid against us. They will strike Israel’s ruler on the cheek with a rod. 2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”

Matthew 2:1 (NIV) After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem

Psalms 2:7 (NIV) I will proclaim the decree of the LORD: He said to me, “You are my Son ; today I have become your Father.

Isaiah 9:6-7 (NIV) For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.

Jeremiah 31:15 (NIV) This is what the LORD says: “A voice is heard in Ramah, mourning and great weeping, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because her children are no more.”

Matthew 2:16-18 (NIV) When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi. 17 Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled: 18 “A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.”

Hosea 11:1: When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called my son.
Matthew 2:14-15 So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: ‘Out of Egypt I called my son.’

I pray all a safe and happy Christmas season.  God bless all and merry Christmas.

James

From me one of the texts we had Sunday, Joel 2:32.

    And everyone who calls
    on the name of the Lord will be saved;
for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem
    there will be deliverance,
    as the Lord has said,
    even among the survivors
    whom the Lord calls.

Worth reading is the account of Herod the Great [sic] in Josephus. After you do that you can well believe he’d’ve been a guy to do the expedient act. Not least that he offed his own sons in a fit of paranoia.

    Merry Christmas!

Kyle Bass, 1 hour talk, talks a lot about Japan and that they will default within 2 years,
says about the US housing market that it has pretty much bottomed out. (High was in 2006, average length of housing bust is 6.5 years to 7.5 years)
