This is yet another fascinatingly stupid bit from the lunatic alarmists.
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Environmental advocates in Northern California plan to take photographs of some of the highest tides of the year to draw attention to what climate change could do decades from now.
The so-called king tides are expected to peak during the next several days, with surges over 9 feet in some areas. The phenomenon is caused by a unique alignment of the sun, moon and earth.
The tides already produced some minor flooding in low-lying areas.
The goal of the King Tides Initiative is to preview what rising sea levels could bring in 2070.
Except no one is predicting 9 feet sea level rise by 2070. This is hilarious. From wiki….
….‘King tide’ is not a scientific term, nor is it used in a scientific context.
Well, maybe some astronomers would disagree.
King tides are simply the very highest tides. Conversely, the low tides that occur at this time are the very lowest tides. They are naturally occurring, predictable events.
Tides are driven by the relative positions of the earth, moon, and sun, the elliptical orbits of the celestial bodies, land formations, and relative location on the earth. …
So, we’ll draw attention to imaginary problems by taking pictures of naturally occurring cyclical events. Makes sense to me.
