Need Help Writing A Response!!!! Sanger Was Wrong?

I just don’t know how to go about rebutting this.  And, it’s bothered me for a bit.  I don’t know why.  We’ve all heard this garbage before, but this …..  this is something special.

A racist bigot spews her profanity in spite of overwhelming facts against her stupidity.  Worse, she’s in defense of a racist bigot who hates her race!  From Townhall…..

CBS Contributor: White People Don’t Like Abortion Because They Want to “Build Up the Race”

CBS News contributor Nancy Giles believes that white people don’t like abortion because they are trying to “build up the race.” Listen to what she said over the weekend on MSNBC when discussing 2012 election voting demographics (I’m not even going to get into MSNBC host Melissa-Harris Perry’s “demise of the white man comments”):

“It’s been weird to watch white people report on this.”

“You know when you just showed that graph of the decline in the numbers,” she continued, “I thought, ‘Maybe that’s why they’re trying to eliminate all these abortions and stuff. They’re trying to build up the race. How creepy.”

There’s a video at the web page.  It’s worth a watch.

It’s difficult to combat racism when the people you’re fighting for accuse you of being a racist.

Later in the article, there is reference to Margaret Sanger, founder of planned parenthood.  When Nancy makes such absurd statements, how does one argue Sanger was wrong?  It’s easy to defeat Sanger’s points, on their own merits, but when people like Giles spew their tripe, what does one say?  Giles is the exception?  Is Giles not aware of the birth rates?  Giles is, obviously, either incapable of searching for the truth, or a racist bigot not worthy of breath.

I won’t stop fighting the fight, but, I would ask that all stand aside for her and hers.  It would be altogether fitting and proper that her legacy die between the abortion stirrups and that this earth would no longer be cursed with the presence of her blood.

Can’t help you with your response but found this beautiful bit of apologism on the wikipedia.

“Sanger wanted the Negro Project to include black ministers in leadership roles, but other supervisors did not. To emphasize the benefits of involving black community leaders, she wrote to Gamble “we do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.” This quote has been mistakenly used by Angela Davis, to support her claims that Sanger wanted to exterminate black people.[99] However, New York University’s Margaret Sanger Papers Project, clarifies that Sanger, in writing that letter, “recognized that elements within the black community might mistakenly associate the Negro Project with racist sterilization campaigns in the Jim Crow South, unless clergy and other community leaders spread the word that the Project had a humanitarian aim.”[100]”

    Spin! Spin like the wind!

Yes, that’s exactly what I’m talking about. Sanger, in spite of her later protestations, was a racial purist. The only reason planned parenthood was started was for, her words, not mine, “the most important and greatest step towards race betterment.”

So, with that in mind, when I watch a lady of color tell me I’m against abortion because I want to “build up the race”. I have to wonder ….. is she stupid? Clearly, Caucasians are not building up our race. Our birth rates are consistently lower than others. It just so happens that we know about such things as condoms, birth control pills and abstinence. Strange, isn’t it? It’s something like 75% of aborted children are minorities. Giles makes the case for Sanger’s arguments!!!! How does one argue against such abject stupidity?

  2. Bruce says:

Nancy Giles is a liberal. I don’t know her position on Christianity. Therein is the issue. Christians wish to obey the 6th Commandment as they wish to honour God and also Christ. Abortion is a personal question of individual conscience before God.

To say this is to out-breed black people is a foul calumny. She should be ashamed, but I suspect she won’t be. Laws only apply to liberals when they like them, and divine laws seem something they particularly dislike. Well my suggestion to Ms Giles is she might wish to read Luke 16:19-31 and think about it.

    • suyts says:

It’s disheartening. Still, the journey continues. For Giles, I would recommend Matthew 7:18 Clearly, Mrs. Sanger was a vile person. Nothing she did could come of good fruition.

  3. Keith AB says:

Very often when we think we are fighting racism we are simply defending “minorities” from whites who discriminate against them. We are only looking at things in one direction at a personal, national or international level.

There is never any real thought given to the real, vicious and extremely corrosive racism against whites from the minorities, particularly from blacks. We are told that racism can only be a white thing because we have power over minorities and they have none over us. The war against racism is simply a war against whites and that is not going to change for as long as liberals continue to inculcate a culture of entitlement and resentment in blacks and against whites.

Unfortunately there is no way to improve that situation without being labelled racist. Kind of damned if you do and damned if you don’t. There was a young American girl, Amy Biehl I think, who did a lot of good charitable work in the black slums in Cape Town a few years ago. One day while going about her good works she was stabbed to death simply because she was white and not one person lifted a finger to help. Her parents have forgiven the perps as they are good Christians but if you are one of the (white) minority it is still not at all safe to go into the townships.

Racism is horrible and I think Morgan Freeman was right when asked how to stop racism he said “stop talking about it”. Unfortunately it is a powerful weapon in the hands of the liberal left as it feeds into the politics of envy and resentment which is the only politics they have so we will forever be talking about it.

    • DirkH says:

Fun thing is, when you enter “morgan freeman calls GOP ” into google, google automatically suggests “racist” as completion… try it, it’s fun.

      • Keith AB says:

Blurryell . . What a strange thought process, and so lazy too. Ah well that’s Freeman off my Christmas card list.

I will say it again . . all I want is a president I can criticise without being called a racist. That isn’t asking too much is it?

  4. philjourdan says:

#1 – Black people do not like abortion either. Check, out Sistersong.net
#2 – You cannot build up by destroying.
#3 – Since proportionally more black babies are aborted than white babies (or cream colored – I have seen no statistics on albinos), being FOR abortion means being for LESS blacks, and MORE whites.

But you cannot argue with stupid (as most here are aware of with the debating of the resident quack). So don’t even bother. The very facts show she is full of crap, and yet she is stuck on stupid.

  5. leftinbrooklyn says:

‘Maybe that’s why they’re trying to eliminate all these abortions and stuff. They’re trying to build up the race. How creepy.’

I’ll always be old-school, I guess. I’ll always believe killing an unborn child to be creepier. And that there should be attempts, at least, to eliminate the killing of the most defenseless of us. No matter what their skin color happens to be.

  6. kim2ooo says:

I might surprise people with my comment here.

I think, it’s great that Nancy Giles made that comment.

    You can’t address stupid — until it’s identified – kim2ooo :)

It is self evident, by watching Melissa-Harris Perry’s reaction, that Nancy Giles’ comment is not an isolated idea… to people of color.

First: I find it ironic that people of color defend genocide, and particularly, genocide carried out by the most racially targeted and promoted group in the USA, if not the World.

Why are Black women over 3 times more likely to obtain an abortion than White women? Even though African Americans are only 12.6% of the population, they received 30% of the 1.2 million abortions in 2008 (latest available statistics), killing 360,000 Black babies at a rate of nearly 1,000 per day.

More than 16 million African American unborn babies have died from legalized abortion, which suggests that the current Black population of 39 million would have been more than a third larger without abortion. This scourge is the leading cause of death for African Americans, more than all other causes combined, including AIDS, violent crimes, accidents, cancer and heart disease. African Americans have been disproportionately hurt by abortion because they have been targeted from the beginning. This is truly a case of Black genocide, and Planned Parenthood is one of the major players in this tragedy.

These census results reveal the extent of Planned Parenthood’s purposeful presence near African American neighborhoods. But it doesn’t stop there. Hispanic women also appear to be a target, as they are nearly twice as likely to obtain an abortion as White women.

An identical examination of the Census 2010 data for Hispanic or Latino populations shows 105 out of 165 or 64% of the Planned Parenthood abortion facilities were located within walking distance of relatively high Hispanic populations. Using the same method as above, the 105 Hispanic targeted neighborhoods show a top 4 census tract average that is 45.0% Hispanic, which is more than double the 20.8% Hispanic average of the 105 counties and 2.7 times higher than the national Hispanic population of 16.3%.

When looking at both minorities in combination, the data reveal that 79% of Planned Parenthood abortion facilities are located near either an African American or a Hispanic neighborhood and 45% are placed so that they are within walking distance of both types of minority neighborhoods.

These “WHITE” people are lying to you people of color.

    About Margret Sanger:

In a December 10, 1939 letter, Margaret Sanger wrote to Dr. Clarence Gamble about her “Negro
Project,” saying, “We do not want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population
and the minister is the man who can straighten that idea out if it ever occurs to any of their more
rebellious members.” (See Blessed Are The Barren The Social Policy of Planned Parenthood by
Robert Marshall and Charles Donovan, Ignatius Press, 1991, pages 17-18.)

    ==================
Here is Sanger’s account of her trip to talk to the Ku Klux Klan from pages 366-367 of Margaret Sanger An Autobiography (1971 reprint by Dover Publications, Inc. of the 1938 original published by W.W. Norton & Company).

All the world over, in Penang and Skagway, in El Paso and Helsingfors, I have found women’s psychology in the matter of childbearing essentially the same, no matter what the class, religion, or economic status. Always to me any aroused group was a good group, and therefore I accepted an invitation to talk to the women’s branch of the Ku Klux Klan at Silver Lake, New Jersey, one of the weirdest experiences I had in lecturing.

My letter of instruction told me what train to take, to walk from the station two blocks straight ahead, then two to the left. I would see a sedan parked in front of a restaurant. If I wished I could have ten minutes for a cup of coffee or bite to eat, because no supper would be served later.

I obeyed orders implicitly, walked the blocks, saw the car, found the restaurant, went in and ordered some cocoa, stayed my allotted ten minutes, then approached the car hesitatingly and spoke to the driver. I received no reply. She might have been totally deaf as far as I was 1 concerned. Mustering up my courage, I climbed in and settled back. Without a turn of the head, a smile, or a word to let me know I was right, she stepped on the self-starter. For fifteen minutes we wound around the streets. It must have been towards six in the afternoon. We took this lonely lane and that through the woods, and an hour later pulled up in a vacant space near a body of water beside a large, unpainted, barnish building.

My driver got out, talked with several other women, then said to me severely, “Wait here. We will come for you.” She disappeared. More cars buzzed up the dusty road into the parking place. Occasionally men dropped wives who walked hurriedly and silently within. This went on mystically until night closed down and I was alone in the dark. A few gleams came through chinks in the window curtains. Even though it was May, I grew chillier and chillier.

After three hours I was summoned at last and entered a bright corridor filled with wraps. As someone came out of the hall I saw through the door dim figures parading with banners and illuminated crosses. I waited another twenty minutes. It was warmer and I did not mind so much. Eventually the lights were switched on, the audience seated itself, and I was escorted to the platform, was introduced, and began to speak.

Never before had I looked into a sea of faces like these. I was sure that if I uttered one word, such as abortion, outside the usual vocabulary of these women they would go off into hysteria. And so my address that night had to be in the most elementary terms, as though I were trying to make children understand.

In the end, through simple illustrations I believed I had accomplished my purpose. A dozen invitations to speak to similar groups were proffered. The conversation went on and on, and when we were finally through it was too late to return to New York. Under a curfew law everything in Silver Lake shut at nine o’clock. I could not even send a telegram to let my family know whether I had been thrown in the river or was being held incommunicado. It was nearly one before I reached Trenton, and I spent the night in a hotel.

Even Marie Stoops the eugenicist called Abortion “murder”

When it came to her notice that one of Avro Manhattan’s woman friends had had an abortion, Stopes accused him of “murdering” the child.[45]

Googled for snippets of the shown article and found this gem from old friend Julian Huxley (first director of UNESCO and founder of WWF, UK socialist, his brother was LSD taking, mushroom eating author Aldous Huxley of Brave New World fame)
“Julian Huxley. “Towards a Higher Civilization.” Birth Control Review, Volume XIV, Number 12 (December 1930), pages 342 to 345.
“I wish to reiterate that all objections to birth control can be met unanswerably except one ) that the human race will degenerate if the superior races and the superior classes among civilized races will curtail the number of their offspring while inferior races and the inferior strata in civilized countries will continue their high birthrate. This must be prevented by all means, and it can be if we go about it earnestly and zealously, and if the civilized governments give us their co-operation.””

      http://jonjayray.tripod.com/sangquot.html

(Sanger is also mentioned on that page)
Later, in standard leftist rewriting of history, Huxley removed all references to his eugenicist past from his autobiographies. It became necessary after WW II to define Hitler’s eugenicism as extreme right wing, and that leftists would never, never have pondered such questions.
See his wikipedia page where you also find
“”The lowest strata are reproducing too fast. Therefore… they must not have too easy access to relief or hospital treatment lest the removal of the last check on natural selection should make it too easy for children to be produced or to survive; long unemployment should be a ground for sterilisation.”[72]”

I’m never stunned that psychotics like Sanger come into this world. Always stunned when the public allows them to gain positions of power & influence.

  11. cdquarles says:

Fisking, somewhat, the stats. From memory, out of wedlock pregnancies occur 2 to 3 times more often among ‘hispanics’ (ugh i dislike the term, for Nixon introduced us to it in the 70s) and among Black Americans (I also dislike the term African-American … Africa is a frigging continent and as such the term strictly applies to a naturalized citizen born in any part of Africa or said citizen has 1st degree relatives born in any part of Africa, so the term does apply to our current president better than it does to millions of other Black Americans whose ancestors came from Africa some 400 years ago). Given that, then, if the stats are not corrected for this differential, I would expect 2 to 3x the rate among ‘minority’ pregnancies if the underlying abortion rate is 1;1 for out-of-wedlock mothers.

    • cdquarles says:

My comment does not detract from Margaret Sanger being a racist eugenicist. There are day when I wonder if people know what the definition of the word, racist, is.

      • philjourdan says:

Not any longer. Democrats have made sure that it is nothing more than a pejorative to be used against those you disagree with.
