Courtroom Climate: Global warming suits from children; measuring snowfall
Grade school-aged children are increasingly appearing as plaintiffs in lawsuits involving global warming.
In one Oregon case, an 11 year old filed a lawsuit against the State of Oregon and Gov. John Kitzhaber claiming “failure to protect the public trust and to protect the state’s natural resources from the impacts of climate change.”
Mary Christina Wood, a professor at the Oregon University of Law who is credited with creating the legal framework of these suits, was quoted as saying: “having young people as plaintiffs in the cases gives added moral authority. We should be getting youths in front of the courts, not polar bears.”
Well, no it doesn’t. It is simply perceived that way. First of all, using a child in such a manner is dangerously close to some serious law violations. I’m pretty sure a case can be made that the lawyers bringing suit are exploiting the children for financial gain. Secondly, there’s no 11 y/o out there who can demonstrate a knowledge of the climate issues. Well, I mean beyond the simplistic concepts of the watermelons. I’d also like to know what the lawyers and their NGO employers believe the various states can judicially do? This is beyond frivolous. Is the state of Oregon capable of things king Canute was not? It is incredibly silly to bring law suits to the various states. These cases should not be heard and any judge allowing so should be removed from the bench for mental incapacity. Even if the simplistic and sophist thoughts of the alarmists were correct, (they are not), the state of Oregon would still be powerless to effect any change.
Let these children grow up to be well-adjusted and adaptive adults! This is child abuse!
Lastly, whether this comes from the parents or overbearing teachers or over zealous lawyers, this is a form of child abuse. No child should be weighed down by such thoughts. They’re stealing their childhood. We wonder why there are so many crazies in the world? Look at how these people are raising their children! What sort of social development and peer interaction can one have when parents and teachers are filling these children’s mind full of such end-is-nigh insanity?
This is the crap these people are filling our children’s minds with. What chance do they have if this continues?

I should have complained loudly when they forced my kid to see Al Gore’s movie twice.
I should have complained when my kid caught her English teacher lying in class.
Exploiting these children by filing lawsuits in their names is truly craven.
Years ago, one of my children brought home an art project for science class. She was to make a poster for Earth Day. The teacher received a note from me instead. It’s a horrible challenge to stop that garbage from infiltrating our children’s minds.
This would be a great motive. Re sea level rise.

Dilbert is a riot!
You didn’t forget Texas, did you?

Lol, no, I left that to be inferred. The judge needs removed from the bench.
It’s freaking crazy. What 11 year old is worried about the weather? Somebody is using him and they should be locked-up. In another 10 years, what’s this kid going to be….an OWS junkie or maybe finding out he was used and lied to and now wants revenge. What’s wrong with these people? Talk about greed. It’s all about the money.
It’s a horrible thing they’re doing to all of our children. They’re force feeding them this dystopian garbage at an age when these kids ought to be worrying about whether or not mom’s cooking brussel sprouts or not, and how much longer can they stay outside and play.

Liberal Rule #1 – The ends justify the means. People are merely cannon fodder for the greater good.
True….. but it is a bit more duplicitous than usual….. what with the children causes and all.
Exitus acta probat is on Washington’s family coat of arms. I’m not sure if Washington believed it, but it is linked to him.
