The HuffPo is now leading with this…….
‘RETROACTIVE RETIREMENT’
So, I’ll try to explain to the very, very, simple minded dolts who we call the left.
Prior to 1999 Mitt Romney owned and operated Bain Capital. I’ll repeat for the slow…… Prior to 1999 Mitt Romney owned and operated Bain Capital. In 1999, Romney was asked to run the Olympics.
So, Mitt Romney, doing his duty for his country, took a ‘leave of absence’ from Bain to become the CEO of the Salt Lake City Olympic Committee. This was in February 1999. Leave of absence, this means you’re not working there, but you may come back.
1. permission to be absent from work or duty
2. the period of absence
Is everyone following along? During the time of his ‘leave of absence’, other people ran Bain Capital. Now, while he was absent he was still invested in Bain Capital. The 2002 Winter Olympics ended in Feb 2002.
When the Olympics were over, Mitt Romney decided to run for Governor of Massachusetts. He won. He had never returned to run, operate, nor manage Bain Capital.
Reblogged this on Climate Ponderings.
The left does not understand business so they can’t comprehend how Romney could leave management of the company without cutting all personal and professional relationships, selling his stock, and publicly disavowing any further association with the company. They can’t grasp that holding stock in a corporation does not mean you’re managing the company. And these are the dolts that think they can run our country?
Exactly. I wonder where their friend Warren Buffet is all of the sudden? I truly hope this stays an issue all election cycle. Maybe then we can start educating people about how things work and what is necessary to turn things around.
Holy crap! Did you see what the president just said?
Making this an issue and continuing to press it after they’ve been proven wrong is going to be the gift that keeps giving to Romney’s campaign. I’ve never witnessed such a public display of detachment with reality.
I’m investing in popcorn. This is getting real fun to watch.
No, where did he say it?
Post coming up…. his speech yesterday….. the same as Warren’s. You’re gonna hate it.
I can’t wait. I’m popping a kettle of pop corn right now.
You just made me hungry for popcorn—with butter (never margarine) and powdered sea salt (never conventional salt). I love popcorn. I think I must be part Indian. Did you know one of Michael Landon’s favorite foods was popcorn? That’s why you occasionally see him eating it on Little House on the Prairie. Bit of trivia. Anyway, good night.
They have to demonize the rich man. They literally don’t have anything else. Why don’t they have anything else? Because they have to imagination.
the quote I like again:
“It is not the truth of Marxism that explains the willingness of intellectuals to believe it, but the power that it confers on intellectuals, in their attempts to control the world. And since, as Swift says, it is futile to reason someone out of a thing that he was not reasoned into, we can conclude that Marxism owes its remarkable power to survive every criticism to the fact that it is not a truth-directed but a power-directed system of thought.”
~~Roger Scruton, English philosopher
This issue would almost be funny if it weren’t so darn sad. Obama’s vacancy is about the only transparency he’s given.
Well looking at the poll numbers, Obama was ahead a couple points until this story. He fell into a tie after it. I guess he is going to keep throwing that spaghetti against the wall. Maybe one will stick. Or maybe it’s in his nature to continually demonize rich people and he just can’t help himself. Or maybe he isn’t as bright as some think he is and he is using the only thing he knows—even though it’s turning into beating a dead horse. Anyway, I’m repeating things you’ve already said.
……………….
Hold on…….
I just looked at the numbers again, Obama took a point away from Romney yesterday:
Obama 47%
Romney 45%
http://www.gallup.com/poll/150743/Obama-Romney.aspx
Lol, just one point on all of this…… Obama’s campaign is burning through the money right now. I hope this stays an issue….. I’m still hoping that Romney starts playing it a bit different. He needs not to take them serious, he needs to laugh at them.
Maybe there was only a 1 point move because people aren’t thrilled either way with either man. Maybe people are unimpressed with both of them.
Well, that’s true. So far, neither has articulated what they see for the future of the U.S. or how they’re going to get us to whatever promise land they haven’t articulated.
Well, I think Obama has made it pretty clear what he wants. He wants to “fundamentally transform” this country. He says the Constitution is flawed. He said reparations for slavery isn’t enough—he says permanent payments from whites to blacks will do it. He said he wants to spread the wealth around. He wants the Muslim Brotherhood to control the Middle East and get the oil grubbers out. He did “shout outs” right after the Fort Hood massacre. He has added more debt to America than all previous presidents combined. This is Obamaworld. America should be able to see who he is. he should be so far behind in the polls that Ron Paul could beat him. The fact that he is ahead of Romney shows just how stupid the swing voter is.
Bain is not playing. But Obama is going to run that train until it is too late.
OWS hates Romney for being sucessful. But OWS is only the 1%, and I doubt most of them vote (or even know how).
Pawlenty? Really?………Really? OMG, how yawn inspiring!
Lol, well, I don’t know where that came from, but I liked Pawlenty! Though it is true he’s not all that exciting. He’s already said no as well.
Where it came from? Drudge was reporting he’s going to pick Pawlenty. If he’s not going to have Condi then Rubio is his only other option.
You did see the poll at Drudge. It’s Rubio 42%, Condi 30%, Yawn(hehe) 5%.
Rice, Pawlenty, and Rubio have all passed on this. We really don’t want a reluctant VP candidate. Take Jindal and move forward. Jindal would be a great VP candidate. Ryan is more than capable, but, he’s fairly polarizing.
Soooo….we are talking political stupid here?
Let’s talk about voter Id:
Shall we start here:
[ "Victoria Rose Rodriguez, 18, told a federal court in Washington that she had limited documentation — a birth certificate, a high school transcript and a student ID card with a photo on it — but is currently a registered voter in Texas. She said her parents are too busy to take her or her twin sister to get the new voter identification cards required by the law. "]
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism/2012/07/12/ap-changes-story-to-make-doj-look-less-absurd
You see Mr Holder had her flown in:
["Victoria Rose Rodriguez, 18, from San Antonio, flew to Washington D.C. to testify that she couldn't get photo ID because she couldn't find the time to do it! Her parents, you see, are also too busy to ever take her to the government office where she can obtain a free voter ID."]
PROCESSED CHEESE: She has a birth certificate… apparently, an old voter card [ registered voter already ]…and the time to fly to DC from Texas.
BUT let’s look at requirements from TSA.
http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/acceptable_documents.shtm
["Adult passengers (18 and over) are required to show a U.S. federal or state-issued photo ID in order to be allowed to go through the checkpoint and onto their flight. "]
ALBEIT:They do provide a maybe out:
["We understand passengers occasionally arrive at the airport without an ID, due to lost items or inadvertently leaving them at home. Not having an ID, does not necessarily mean a passenger won’t be allowed to fly. If passengers are willing to provide additional information, we have other means of substantiating someone’s identity, like using publicly available databases."]
In the mean time, Mr Holder has been woooing the crowds:
What is required at the NAACP Conference he spoke at?
http://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepavlich/2012/07/10/naacp_requires_photo_id_to_see_holder_speak
["All media must present government-issued photo I.D. (such as a driver’s license) as well as valid media credentials. "]
What about the National Council of La Raza?
http://www.nclr.org/index.php/about_us/news/news_releases/attorney_general_eric_holder_to_deliver_remarks_at_the_2012_nclr_annual_conference/
[ "NOTE: All media must present government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license) as well as valid media credentials. Upon arrival, members of the media must register and receive credentials at the NCLR Press Office in room Reef DE. For security purposes, media check-in and equipment setup must be completed by 11:15 a.m. PDT for an 11:30 a.m. PDT security sweep "]
The Democratic National Convention?
http://www.democraticconventionwatch.com/
["Prior to the DNC, all assigned applicants will receive a permit and additional information from the City. All permit holders must bring the permit and a photo ID to the parade assembly area or Speakers’ Platform location.']
What’s required of Labor Unions to vote?
http://enemyofthestatist1.wordpress.com/2011/12/13/unions-require-photo-id-for-elections-democrats-want-no-photo-id-for-state-and-national-elections/
What’s required to go to Mrs Obamas book signing?
http://newsbusters.org/blogs/john-bates/2012/06/06/first-lady-requires-photo-id-her-book-signings-voter-id-law-hating-media#ixzz1x6oAQG4k
AND Mr Obama?
http://nation.foxnews.com/barack-obama/2012/06/14/id-required-obama-speech-not-vote
Now, I am a firm believer in National Security…and we should protect these individuals – even from themselves.
BUT there is no one individual more important than the integrity of one person -one vote. Isn’t protecting the integrity of our elections just as important?
As Eric Holder and his DOJ minions traverse the nation tossing lawsuits and threats at States daring to enact Photo ID laws to protect the vote, the hypocrisy is deafening.
The higher a monkey climbs – the more you see of his butt. – unknown
Ha hahaha
That’s one of my all time favs!
What you fail to realize is that any pick is going to be polarizing. The left is going to make it so. Look what they are trying to do with Palin? She did expose their misogynist traits, but that is all she did as a pick. They call her stupid – yet they cannot come up with anything stupid.
The “reluctance” of Condi, Marco, and the others is because they do not want to be Palinized.
Is why I think Jindal would be a great pick. I’ve got 15 euphemisms for racist standing at the ready. It wold be a hoot watching the left trip over themselves.
No point in saving those euphamisms. They already demonstrate they are the only misogynist racist bigots.
